THEY ARE STEALING OUR BALANCE OF +1MILLIONS EUROS They suspended our account with no reason at all! We used airwallex for our business and all of a sudden they froze all global accounts + cards.
Support is really poor, they only use automatic templates with no help at all! Our account manager cancelled our meeting and is ignoring our messages. They only want to help you if it benefits them.
I will wait how they will solve this if they don't release our funds within 48 hours we will take legal action with HK authority. DO NOT TRUST THEM WITH YOUR MONEY, and DO NOT USE THEM AT ALL

Unreliable service. Account frozen without explanation
I run an online store selling products manufactured by our own company. I used Airwallex as my only banking provider for three years. One day, without any warning, they froze all my accounts and deleted all issued virtual cards linked to multiple services. This immediately disrupted our business operations and prevented us from paying suppliers and receiving payments from customers.
My assigned account manager completely ignored all my messages. Customer support failed to provide any clear explanation and informed me that the account would be blocked for six months. I did not violate any laws or policies — I was simply receiving customer payments for goods sold through my website.
After significant effort and multiple checks, I managed to make a few supplier payments. More than six months have now passed. My account manager has never responded, support only sends generic template replies, and I can no longer even access my account.
I strongly do not recommend Airwallex. They are unreliable and can block your business without notice or explanation.

My nightmare experience. My account was compromised and €1,700 was stolen. Airwallex seems to have no idea how to protect funds or how to handle a breach after it happens. I actually had to help them contact the bank where the fraudster sent the money. Can you imagine? But actually still not progress after >4 months.
Furthermore, they recently charged my account €2,400 without any email notification, leaving me with a negative balance. I’ve tried contacting support, but I haven't received a reply.
A few days ago, I scheduled a call with them, and they canceled it just 30 minutes before it was supposed to start.
Now, they have closed my global accounts without any explanation or contact.
I'm trying to leave my review on Trustpilot, reddit, but airwallex remove my reviews. Can you imagine? Its collapse.
This feels like a pure scam. Do not even consider using Airwallex.

Airwallex is a reliable, easy-to-use platform with excellent support. I've had an account since 2022 and have never had any problems, plus I've received excellent support from Mr. Brinsley Wong on my account. The multi-currency account has been excellent so far.

After multiple years of smooth collaboration and over 100M HKD in annual payment processing volume, Airwallex suddenly suspended our account. While unfortunate, we understand that payment companies face strict AML responsibilities, and even legitimate businesses like ours can occasionally get caught up in compliance reviews.
What truly disappointed us was the atrocious communication that followed.
We relied heavily on Airwallex Payments. Upon suspension, our ability to challenge credit card chargebacks was immediately revoked—a decision that defies basic risk management logic. This doesn't just increase our exposure; it increases Airwallex's too. As a limited liability company, we're not guaranteed to cover losses if our final balance turns negative due to preventable chargebacks. But with no one willing to engage, this problem is simply being ignored.
Here's the harsh reality: You only have someone to talk to at Airwallex while your account is in good standing. The moment an issue arises, your assigned "account managers" will ghost you across all channels. Email support lacks the authority—or perhaps the willingness—to investigate problems and deliver real solutions. Your processing volume is irrelevant.
We've since engaged a specialized law firm to recover our funds and have transitioned to HSBC.
My warning to prospective customers: Airwallex's slick dashboards, low fees, and excellent UX create the impression of a genuine banking alternative. Once you're processing volume, you'll be assigned an "account manager" reachable via WeChat and WhatsApp—giving you false confidence that support exists when things go wrong. Don't be misled. The moment you're deemed "too risky," Airwallex demonstrates it has no real accountability when it comes to client funds.

They appear to be selectively approving only well-established businesses rather than tech startups. However, we are not a brand-new startup, we have been operating for nearly two years and are growing steadily. We already have an approved Stripe account, but surprisingly, their requirements seem even stricter than Stripe, Wise, PayPal, or Payoneer. Either they apply unusually strict criteria, or they are only approving businesses that already process at least $100,000 per month in transactions.
Not Recommended to startups.

My experience with Airwallex has been TERRIBLE. I had something happen that I have never seen before with a bank. A transfer dissapeared. On 17/12 I sent a transfer to the UAE 18,225.78 AED, the recipient never got the funds. He contacted his bank and there is no signs of any transfer, suggested talk with Airwallex. They confirm the funds were dispatched and provide a USD transfer receipt. How does that make sense? When asked for proof that the funds were deposited in the UAE bank, they simply ignore, and provide the same nonsense USD document.
I know the issue is on Airwallex's side, because previous transfers were done to this recipient, and the funds arrived just fine, and when this transfer dissapeared there is a failure to provide help and proof. Simply disgusting that a bank can't do their own job of transfering funds smoothly, or even worse 'allegedlly' making a transfer dissapear and disregard the customer. I bet they will just reply to this review with 'were very sorry contact this email for support'. I will write another review in a month updating about my case, which I do not have high hopes. AVOID

I sent an important transfer 15 days ago of 20,000 USD to my other company abroad. I haven't received anything, when I reach out to them they keep sending me the screenshot of the transaction saying it has been completed and that they cannot do anything.
They are not even able to provide me with a SWIFT copy to confirm that the transaction was actually made!
This is called SCAM ladies and gentlemen

My advice is stay well away.....I deposited money for the Airwallex fees for a new account that hasn't started trading yet. Then they freeze those incoming funds and ask for an explanation. Honestly these people are stupid and actually I believe operating on the edge of being illegal. The fact they ask why the person sent my company money....ME as its even listed on the transaction and its for the EXACT amount of the fees tells you everything.
