Helpful and friendly staff!

I was on flight JU214 on Saturday 16th May from Belgrade to Heathrow when I became ill. The staff onboard were absolutely amazing - they offered medicine, did online searches to make sure it was safe for me to take the meds after I’d taken something for sickness that morning, and checked in on me and my partner numerous times throughout the flight. They brought me water and camomile tea and were just so friendly and helpful. I’ve been telling everyone what a great experience I had with Air Serbia that day - they’ve made a customer out of me!

Worst company ever

I purchased a round-trip ticket with Air Serbia from Paris to Tirana via Belgrade, with a return flight from Tirana to Paris through Belgrade.

I unfortunately missed the first flight by a very short time and had to spend extra money to buy another ticket just to get to Tirana. I still had my valid return ticket and fully intended to use it.

But when I arrived at Tirana airport for my return flight, I was shockingly denied boarding because I had not used the outbound portion of the ticket. Nobody clearly warned me that missing one flight would automatically cancel the entire booking, including the return journey I had already paid for.

As a result, I was stranded at the airport and forced to buy yet another extremely expensive last-minute ticket to get back home. Completely unacceptable.

This kind of policy feels deeply unfair and abusive toward passengers. A customer pays for a ticket, yet the airline simply cancels the rest of the journey because one segment was missed. Instead of helping, the staff showed no understanding or real assistance.

I strongly advise travelers to be extremely careful when booking with Air Serbia. If you miss even one flight, they may cancel all remaining flights on your reservation without properly informing you — and leave you to deal with the consequences alone.

One of the worst travel experiences I have ever had.

Great service and aircraft

Not sure what people expect but I flew Budapest to Belgrade and had a 21 hour layover (saved $300 to spend 300 in Belgrade) and without talking about anything but the flights both flights exceeded my expectations in every way. Staff was impeccable and the aircraft were clean and orderly run.we arrived safely and early in NY at final destination and I was very pleased with the experience.

Worst airline in the world

Worst airline in the world. If I could give them 0 stars I would do so gladly. Over the years they went from being a decent airline to probably the single worst experience I've ever had. They rebook and cancel flights and advise you less than 24h earlier and when you ask them to change the flight they don't respond at all. Talking to their support is like talking to the brick wall, the wall is likely to be more helpful I think. To top it all off they lose your luggage. What else can one say except if you have the option to walk, it's probably preferable to using this sad excuse for an airline.

Worst European Airline

Worst European Airline, avoid and don’t try to be cheap. Ryanair looks better and better. Extremely rude ground employees as well as flight attendants. Last minute seat swap from row 4 to 21, and no one cares even a tiny bit.

Worst airline on the planet ,

Worst airline on the planet ,
The are canceling your order 2 months before you go (because they can make more money, by canceing you and selling again)
Now you can book a new flight for the dubble of the price. This is a scam, you can trust them.
They put you in to a fuc** up situation, and it cost me on the end only more money.
This is the second time it happend. For me never and ever again 🤮🤢🤮🤢

Very mediocre airline

On March 22 of this year, I flew Air Serbia from Chicago to Belgrade. We were a party of four—my wife, our two kids, and myself. From the get-go, as we were about to take off, a passenger sitting one row away from us got sick. We had to return to the gate so he could be disembarked. It happens—you can’t blame the airline for that.
However, the passenger had vomited and urinated on himself while still in his seat, and guess what the flight attendants did? They simply covered his seat with a blanket and sat another passenger in it! We eventually left Chicago with a three-hour delay, making the entire journey about 12 hours long. No fun.
The main problem, however, was that none of our entertainment systems worked. The flight attendants reset them several times to no avail. Try being stuck on a plane for 12 hours with two kids and nothing to entertain them! I did some research afterward and saw that many others have had the same issue. It seems Air Serbia’s planes are just too old—purchased second-hand from larger airlines—and they simply don't maintain them properly.
Next time, I would rather pay a few hundred dollars more to fly with a 'real' airline. Never again Air Serbia.

One of the worst airline experiences I’ve ever had

Oh my, where should I start… High prices, extremely rude staff, unfair treatment, paid services not received…

The prices are high and there are almost no alternatives so you’re forced to pay them.

If you pay for priority and emergency seat to ensure you bring your cabin luggage with you so that you don’t have to wait in the luggage belt, be careful cause they will check it in anyway for the first ones in the queue (instead of the logical “when there’s no room for more”). And also be careful if you complain about that cause they will bark at you.

The staff is extremely rude and unsupportive. They simply can’t be bothered.

Furthermore, airport lounge in a very poor condition to say the least, and offering very low-quality products. They don’t even have a bathroom inside the lounge…

Sleezy unnecessary sales tactic

I was purchasing tickets and price seemed competitive (price was listed including luggage). When I started booking tickets, luggage was not included. Not a biggest issue. I was urged to pay for the tickets as there were ‘only 2 left’ on the flight. While finalising purchase, a pop up message jumped saying that only paid seats are available (from around 9-12€) and that seat selection can be skipped at this point. After multiple attempts to pay for the tickets, I was instructed that tickets cannot be purchased without choosing seats (not sure why this could not have been stated earlier) Almost entire plane was available for seat selection. Clearly not last 2 tickets. I’m pretty sure that it’s illegal to sell a ticket that doesn’t have any free-of-charge seat. Overall, I regret not choosing different airline, cause this is just a sleezy way to operate. Giving wrong and misleading information and all just to get extra 18€ that could have been included in original price.

Cancellation, yes. Compensation, no.

If everything goes as planned, it is a decent company.
But... they cancelled my 2 flights 7 days before the take off and they refuse to pay any compensation, apart for the original price I have paid.
They are probably one of the reasons why the internet is full of companies that get this money for you, for a 35% commission.

Malfunctioning and usless website

Malfunctioning and ineffective website. I tried numerous times to check in. Contacted the Air Serbia centre, but they also couldn’t use the website to check in. This experience was disappointing and reflects poorly on a Serbian organisation.

I would advise against traveling with…

I would advise against traveling with Air Serbia. Absolutely unacceptable experience.

I experienced a major delay on my journey from Athens to Stockholm, which resulted in me arriving a full day late to my destination. While delays can happen, what’s truly shocking is the complete lack of customer service that followed.

I submitted a compensation claim early in January under EU passenger rights regulations. It has now been well over 60 days, and I have received one plain response, about my request being in their backlog. Multiple follow-ups have been ignored as it now 90 days!

It feels like the airline is deliberately avoiding its legal obligations and hoping customers will simply give up. This level of disregard for passengers is incredibly frustrating and unprofessional.

Delays are one thing — but ignoring customers entirely is unacceptable.

If you value transparency, accountability, and basic customer service, I would strongly recommend avoiding Air Serbia.

Zero stars for customer service.

Air Serbia unlawfully denied me boarding

Air Serbia unlawfully denied me boarding on a cennecting flight claiming that I don't have the necessary documents for entry into Egypt. Their own crew previously checked my visa requirements when I boarded the first flight, but even after explaining multiple times that I don't need a visa if I have a valid and used US visa, they still persisted in their claim that I can't enter Egypt without a visa. I was left stranded in another country in the middle of the night, and lost all the booking reservations for the whole trip because of Air Serbia incompetence. The next week I rebooked the trip with another airline and went to Egypt without any issues. I still have not received any compensation or refund from Air Serbia, and their customer support never responded to my emails. Avoid this airline at all costs, the customer service is non existent and their employees are uneducated low IQ individuals who can't even perform basic job of checking entry requirements.

Gotogate and Air Serbia are a complete disaster."

On January 9, 2026, I booked a return flight via Gotogate for my family of six. The outbound journey on July 6 was scheduled from Amsterdam to Ankara via Belgrade with Air Serbia. The return journey is with SunExpress.
Recently, I received an email from Air Serbia stating that my flight has been cancelled. After extensive contact with Gotogate, they claim they are not liable for the cancellation and offered two options: a full refund or an alternative flight with Air Serbia. However, the alternative offered by Gotogate is unacceptable: a route with three transfers (Amsterdam – Brussels – Belgrade – Istanbul – Ankara). Traveling with a family of six through four different airports is not a "comparable transport condition."
I requested an alternative flight with another airline (e.g., SunExpress, which already operates my return flight), but Gotogate refused, claiming they can only book with Air Serbia. Air Serbia itself can only offer flights with 2 or 3 transfers.
Both Gotogate and Air Serbia have provided extremely poor customer service. Despite Gotogate claiming to offer support in 20 languages, I was unable to speak to anyone in Dutch, and the English-speaking staff were very difficult to understand.
I have formally stated my rights via email. According to EU Regulation 261/2004, in the event of a cancellation, passengers have the right to choose between a full refund or re-routing to the final destination under comparable transport conditions at the earliest opportunity. If the operating carrier cannot provide a reasonable flight on their own aircraft, they are legally obliged to book a flight with another airline.
Since both Gotogate and Air Serbia refuse to comply with these legal obligations and stop responding to my emails, I have been left with no choice but to book new tickets myself to ensure my family can travel. These summer tickets are three times more expensive than the original booking.
I hereby hold both Gotogate and Air Serbia liable for the price difference and additional costs. I have documented all correspondence and kept screenshots of the refused assistance as evidence for a formal claim and legal action.
