Run their planes like a train service
Will cut to the chase, this airline should be shut down or invest in a suitable infrastructure . Plane from Phuket to London via Delhi cancelled, next one connection was changed with 30 mins connection. Next offer Phuket to Hydrebad to Delhi to London. Arrived at airport only to be told you need an Indian visa....Air Indias next offer was to fly us back in 5 days. No customer service, no one responds to emails regarding refunds and compensation after nearly a month. Utter disgrace, if I was living in India I would demand they change their name as reflects badly on the country
I would like to especially thank Ms. Anjali
I would like to especially thank Ms. Anjali (Cabin Crew), who was extremely helpful, kind, and one of the most patient crew members I have ever encountered.
Due to the humid conditions at Mumbai airport, the flight became quite uncomfortable, and some passengers were understandably frustrated. Despite this, Ms. Anjali handled the situation with remarkable patience and maintained a warm smile throughout, even though the circumstances were beyond her control. Her professionalism and positive attitude were truly commendable.
More power to her—we need more people like Ms. Anjali.
Also, a special mention for the chocolate mousse—it was absolutely delicious (though you might be spoiling us a bit!).
Thank you once again for the excellent service.
Wish there was a 0-star option
Honestly, I wish there was a 0-star option.
First, my flight was cancelled, which is already frustrating—but what’s worse is the experience after that. Getting a refund has been an exhausting process. I’ve had to follow up multiple times, only to receive repetitive or irrelevant responses.
Very disappointing experience. Would not recommend based on how poorly this situation has been handled.
Unexpected a good flight and Airline
I was a bit concerned about Air India after reading the reviews. We flew from India to Kathmandu in April 2026. We've booked it via KLM. Was a good flight, on time, for a 1,5 hr flight a good aircraft, luggage arrived (was checked-in in Amsterdam for the whole flight) Friendly personnel. The only thing what was confusing is that you had change your ticket on the airport. You have two big counters. Take the left one and be patient. Since I lost my preferred seats what I had paid for, I got my money back after I filed an online refund request. So, at the end, a good experience.
Poor standard of customer care
7 members of my family were on a flight from Delhi to Kathmandhu. I was upgraded to 2a and my sister to the seat next to me. We happily settled into our upgraded seats. A female steward then told my sister she shouldn't be in this seat. She wouldn't listen when we showed her our upgraded boarding passes. She then walked off without any assurance or explanation leaving us feeling like we shouldn't be there. After a considerable time a gentleman boarded and took the seat next to me. My sister was told to sit in the opposite aisle seat. There was no apology for the airlines mistake or for the embarrassment my sister suffered. The 2 cabin crew were very sullen and I think some further training in customer care is long overdue. We had earlier taken a flight from Rome to Delhi and found the crew to be an improvement (which wouldn't have been hard !) Needless to say none of us will ever travel with Air India in the future
WORST AIRLINE AND STAFF
I recently had one of the worst travel experiences I’ve encountered with India Airlines. From start to finish, the entire journey felt disorganized, frustrating, and frankly unacceptable.
The staff were miserable and unhelpful. Simple questions were met with dismissive attitudes, and it often felt like passengers were an inconvenience rather than valued customers. There was no sense of professionalism or willingness to assist, which made an already stressful trip even worse.
To make matters worse, the flight was significantly delayed with missed connections with little to no communication from staff. Miserable staff on the flights and at the airport. horrible food, around 40% of the tv screens on the flights did not work. No food vouchers when I had to wait 8 hours for next connection.
Staff at Delhi airport were so rude and miserable, not helpful at all.
Completely ruined my holiday. An original 24 hour flight with 1 connection actually took 40 hours.
I arrived a day late at my destination and returning I arrived 8 hours later than planned.
I recommend saving a little extra for a quality airline and NOT flying air India

My partner recently travelled on Air India. As a doctor, she assisted a patient during the flight, and I was surprised that despite her journey being very disrupted and changing the experience, by having to step in and help, there was no acknowledgment, good will or care from the airline. If anything, that reflects their attitude more than anything else. I am genuinely surprised and incredibly disappointed.
Relied on in a critical situation, then dismissed
Avoid AirIndia at any cost.
Very disappointed with how Air India handled this.
On flight AI169 (18 March 2026), cabin crew asked for medical help and, as the only doctor onboard, I stepped in. The captain later said an emergency landing may have been required without my help.
I had paid for business class ahead of a night shift, yet only managed around 2 hours’ sleep on an 11-hour flight due to managing the situation.
Air India called my actions “invaluable,” but refused any goodwill gesture or compensation, citing policy.
Poorly handled.

Horrible airline offered an upgrade that we paid for from a link on our reservation on airindia.com and they refused to honour it this is illegal.
Horrible Travel
I will never fly this airline again. We took a Air India non stop flight to Delhi on 19th February 2026 . Our seats could not recline for this 15 hrs flight to Delhi. Our TV monitor was broken and did not work. There was no charging port on the screen as this was broken as well. The charging port below the seat never worked. All of this for 15 hours. And now imagine this doing this trip back on March 3rd. Its the same on our trip back. How does one even keep himself engaged for 15 hrs doing nothing and with broken seats. HORRIBLE TRIP. And Mr Shanu from Customer Relations responds to my email complaint and tells me they did a detailed review and found nothing wrong. You know Tata's may have taken over this Airline company, but they also took over a rotten group of baggage that came with the planes.

Extremely disappointing experience with Air India. I reached the gate during final call, yet staff delayed me with unnecessary questions and offloaded my baggage right in front of me. No urgency, no empathy, and very rude behavior. Missed my flight despite being present. Completely unprofessional service. 0 stars. Never again.

I recently flew with Air India and had a fairly mixed experience. On the positive side, the check-in staff were courteous and efficient, and I appreciated the generous baggage allowance. However, the in-flight service left much to be desired—the cabin felt quite dated, and the entertainment system was not fully functional. The food was average, and there were long delays in meal service. Overall, it was acceptable for the price, but there's definitely room for improvement.
Direct flight not worth it
I bought this flight as it was the only direct from Delhi to Melbourne. It was an awful experience. No entertainment screens worked, no plugs worked. I wish they had given us a heads up so I would make sure my devices were charged. 11 1/2 hours with no entertainment.
What are joke Airindia is
What are joke Airindia is , complaint made in February. But have received anything from them as to my disappointment
The worst
The worst ! I beg everyone to not use this company , absolutely awful
Bad Experience
My first journey with Air India and probably the last. Flight attendants were not friendly, their tones sounded sarcastic They were all frowning. Flight entertainment was out of order. It’s torture when you have a 9 hr flight. Seats were broken. Meal was not good. The chicken in non-veg was so hard and dry as well as the bread. The interior of the plane is old and untidy. Air India—- Such a disappointment!!!!!
Worst airline customer service ever
Worst airline customer service ever. I highlighted two incidents of massive flight delays, roaches in the flight, sub-par meals and prejudicial treatment by their ground staff. Air India's only response to this was that they are looking into it. It has been a month and that's the same response I keep getting when I chase up.
I flew from Uk(gatwick) airport to…
I flew from Uk(gatwick) airport to Ahmedabad non-stop flight on 9th April and it was delayed.
First 8PM then approx 9:30PM, when got boarding pass they told it is delay and time is 11:50pm and Air india given us food vouchers and that is great experience.
After that time again delayed to 00:30am.
Finally we entered into Plane at 00:30am and flight was not ready to fly. And finally it flew around 01:30am.
We all passengers were tired because of unnecessary waiting for this long.
BUT Here was a game changing happened.
The Staff in the plane was awesome.
Special treatment and services they served it was marvelous. also they co-operate in all situations. We enjoyed a lot in the Plane. We all majority passengers come to know each other while enjoying journey and all staff never lied down us. Whenever whatever we demanded food, water, soft drinks, hard drinks all time immediately attended without any hesitation and with the smiling faces.
We all given claps for whole crew and we specifically asked all the staffs name to write down in my this review.
We expect Air india to please give them some benefits to those staff, I am writing their names below here.

Formal Complaint Regarding Extremely Poor Service – Air India Business Class (Booking Ref: AMHUST)
Dear Sir/Madam,
My name is Suman, and I am writing to formally lodge a serious complaint regarding the extremely poor and unacceptable service I experienced while travelling from London Heathrow to Delhi on an Air India flight AI 2018 (Booking Reference: AMHUST, Seat: 3F).
I had booked a Business Class ticket, expecting a high standard of service. However, my experience was completely disappointing, stressful, and unprofessional from start to finish.
Firstly, my flight was originally scheduled for 8:40 PM, and I received an email stating it was delayed by 40 minutes. To confirm, I contacted Air India customer care in the UK. I was given conflicting and incorrect information regarding the departure time, which created confusion.
Around 6 PM, I specifically asked the customer service executive about the latest check-in and boarding time. I clearly informed them that I would arrive at the airport around 8:30 PM (approximately 50 minutes before departure). I was assured that, as a Business Class passenger, I would receive priority check-in and that this timing would be acceptable.
However, upon arriving at Heathrow Airport at approximately 8:25 PM, I was shocked to be told at the counter that check-in was closed and that I would not be issued a boarding pass. Despite explaining my prior conversation with customer care and my Business Class entitlement, the Airport Duty Manager, Mr. Sarvanakumar, behaved in an extremely rude and unprofessional manner.
He refused to assist me, stated that even Business Class passengers would not be accommodated, and shockingly demanded extra payment to allow check-in baggage. This was completely unjustified, as my ticket already included baggage allowance.
When I questioned this, he became aggressive and disrespectful. When I asked for his name and informed him I would file a complaint, he responded with abusive language, saying “bad word” and that he did not care about any complaint. This behaviour is completely unacceptable and unprofessional.
Due to his actions, I was put under extreme stress and was forced to rush unnecessarily. He also instructed the gate staff to close boarding if I did not reach by 9:00 PM.
To make matters worse, I witnessed another passenger with a Business Class ticket being allowed to check in and drop baggage after 9:00 PM, simply because they had an Air India staff reference. This clearly indicates biased and discriminatory behaviour.
Even after boarding, the issues continued. My Business Class seat (3F) had a faulty cabin slider, meaning I did not receive the privacy and comfort I had paid for. Despite raising this with the cabin crew and requesting to speak with a manager, no one attended to my concern.
I paid over £1600 for this ticket and received one of the worst travel experiences of my life. Additionally, my luggage remains at Heathrow Airport due to the earlier refusal to check it in.
This entire experience reflects extremely poor service standards, lack of professionalism, and unacceptable customer treatment.
I have supporting evidence, including photos and records, and I request:
A full investigation into the behaviour of Mr. Sarvanakumar
An explanation for the inconsistent and misleading information provided
Compensation for the distress, inconvenience, and service failure
Immediate assistance regarding my stranded luggage
Please treat this matter with urgency. I expect a prompt and serious response.
Yours sincerely,
Suman
