TL;DR : Had the worst experience with this company in getting back my deposit and the general experience of living in this sorry shoebox they call a home! Avoid at all costs!!

My sister lived in an apartment which she found via agenthome.de for about 6 months In Stuttgart. The apartment itself was a heavily overpriced shoebox studio on the ground floor of an “Altbau”. After she moved in she found that the heating system did not work well and she had to endure some very rough winter months with no proper room heating at all! When she contacted the owner they also did not know how the heating functioned so that’s great!

She then also had to deal with a mold problem a few months later. And when she called the caretaker of the apartment he said that this was a recurring problem in this apartment. Which means the owner knowingly put this apartment for sale with a potentially hazardous mold growth! Throughout this situation the owner and agent were quite passive and would not respond on time mostly leaving her to try to solve it on her own.

But the real kicker came after she moved out. The owner did not return our deposit until we wrote/called them incessantly until finally we told them we would take legal action. They made us wait 3 months, one time also LYING to the agent saying that they have paid the deposit back. This despite signing a contract saying the deposit will be paid 1 month after moving out. This was truly mental anguish for us as even the agent side was extremely passive again providing us no real support or putting pressure on the owner.They would tell us they are following up with the owner but they would not show us any proof of it.

Save yourself the mental torture and stay clear of agenthome.de! They do not screen their home owners, duping tenants into paying for overpriced houses and leaving tenants to fend for themselves. Shame on you!!

No words really, but I Shall attempt nonetheless.
Despite the fact that they deduct automatically more than 10% of my deposit for last cleaning, they expected me to do the cleaning myself…
Since it was the most expensive cleaning I have ever paid for I treated myself to leaving the flat like I would have left hotel roomI (rubbish gathered in bags in one place etc). I was told I was to take it out myself, was shouted at and called “ you are as dirty as some Ukrainian “ I mean… can You believe it ??!!
Then some mould was found in the shower and somehow it was my fault because “ you suppose to dry shower after every use” ?!? Can anyone please explain to me who and where dries showers after use ? And how ? Using towels , hair dryer ?
Then series of harassing WhatsApp messages followed (all of that on new years eve ! )
This agency clearly has problem with filtering landlords of civilised level not to mention- do they know how to make sure the flats they advertise are safe? . How long was I inhaling that mould for ?
Just avoid, I couldn’t wait for my 6 months rent to finish .
Now rented another place with different agency, Cant be worse I guess.
