Unacceptable experience – systemic failure at passport control
Missed my flight on 13 June 2026 (Florence–Gatwick) due to chaotic and badly managed passport control.
Queues were extremely long and disorganised. Even after being moved into a so-called “priority” lane, the process remained painfully slow. I cleared passport control and was just a few metres from the gate when I was stopped because the flight had been closed.
This situation was entirely caused by airport inefficiency, not the passenger.
Vueling also shares responsibility here — despite the circumstances being obvious, they refused even minimal flexibility and are now denying accountability.
Result: missed flight, rerouted via Barcelona, and a 12-hour delay.
Worst part? Zero assistance — no communication, no support, not even basic vouchers.
Completely unacceptable from both the airport and the airline.
