Buyer beware, stay away from these scammers

In my 15 years of chartering yachts, I have never seen a more despicable company. They are all liers and scammers. Especially Zak Papadakis.

The boats are in terrible condition, and the maintenance is non-existent. Every issue on the boat they will automatically blame on you and charge to the deposit.

The bridge navionics stopped working, and they claimed we should have covered them in plastic bags to keep them from getting wet, and so it's our fault they broke down.

There are hidden fees everywhere that are not in the contract. Everything has an excuse.

Please, whatever you do, never charter from this company

Aegean Cruises Excellent Yacht Charter in Greece

I sailed with friends last September with Aegean Cruises on bareboat basis and on s/y “Capetan Girogos, an Oceanis 46.1. Even she was not a new boat she was in very good condition, very well maintained and fully equipped with an excellent sailing performance as well. We enjoyed our sailing trip in Greece very much and would like to thank Aegean Cruises once more for the professional service and for the polite and very helpful staff.

Hi Aegean Cruises !

Me and my family have been sailing last summer in Greece on a skippered charter with Aegean Cruises and on a Lagoon 400 S2 under the name "Anemoessa". We had a really wonderful time, the boat was in excellent condition, our skipper Theo was really professional and a very nice person as well. The services of Aegean Cruises were excellent and we intend to go sailing again this summer. We recommend Aegean Cruises undoubtely.

do not use this yacht charter company

We have agreed on a charter price for a an Oceanis 46.1 yacht. As the yacht was old and I had some bad experience with other old yachts in Greece, I asked for a signed checklist for the boat ½ hour before take-over. The check list was to include the standard checks normally performed before a new take-over.That included sails to be OK, batteries to be OK, no damages to rudder and propeller, water and sewage systems to be operating OK and all nav. lights to be working. If things were not OK, they should be fixed before take-over. If things could not be fixed within reasonable time, a deduction in the charter price was requested.
The response was very rude and stating our requirements as offensive.
As a naval architect and consulting engineer for more than 30 years, I'm used to discuss reasonable requirements and guarantees to mutual benefit. Never had I experienced such an attitute.
I'm happy that we did set out these requirements as obviously the company is not prepared to take responsibility for their yachts.
