I've had an excellent service from ADVFN for numerous years. Occasionally, I need some help and usually get response from Niccolo Moretto, typically same day, sometimes in minutes. He has always been helpful polite and am happy to recommend ADVFN as well as Niccolo Moretto.
Do not subscribe
Chat threads on stocks are ruined by spam so that they are virtually unusable. I was a premium member and recently complained about a poster spamming and destroying a chat thread. No response whatsoever to me or other users. I have cancelled subscription and they do not make it easy to cancel.

THIS IS WHATS WRONG WITH THE NEW IPAD VERSION
Screen is now completely unusable- The older version you could fit much more on the screen and now the fonts are too big - you used to be able to see most of the columns on the creek but now only a few - absolute garbage
High and Low Prices are not updating very fast
Financials are difficult to find
Top Lists have no idea where they are now
White background is just not appealing to the eye
Whoever designed this needs sacking as obviously no user feedback was asked for or taken in to account
I have used ADVFN for 20 years
I have used ADVFN for 20 years. I have always loved the colour scheme, the easy functionality of it and the ability to get basic information like market capitalisation in an instant.
Customer support (a chap Niccolo Moretto) was very quick and effective after the change over to the new format.
I have to be honest the new format/colour scheme looks a bit too stylish and loses the simplicity of its character but that might just be me stuck in my old ways.
Actually they could do with improving the News feed as it’s not scaling to size on a mobile phone. It seems to think you are viewing it on a desktop PC as opposed to a mobile.

Excellent assistance from Niccolo Moretto on the Help Desk
Excellent discussion with Niccolo Moretto on the help desk. My initial problem (which I thought would be more difficult than it was) was resolved in only a few minutes. Following this I managed to resolve a much bigger issue (that was self-generated) in that I had created several accounts over the years while living in different countries in Europe, using different (national) email addresses & phone numbers, none of which were now used. I wanted to either combine the different accounts or delete the ones I didn’t need. This was done effortlessly with Niccolo & I managed to re-establish my original account, set up some 25 years ago, which I had actually forgotten about. All the new accounts were removed. So in summary, extremely helpful help desk person (Niccolo Moretto). I've always enjoyed using ADVFN but now I look forward to it even more!
Auto-Renewal, don't do it!
My first impressions of their website were favourable. But stick to the free version, stay away from giving these people any money! Unfortunately, I have fallen foul of the old Auto-Renewal scam again. Apparently you have no choice in the matter. When I signed up all they sent was an email that was very vague but it does state they will remind you prior to subscription renewal. Obviously, no reminder was sent. ADVFN are not interested that their own system failed and are refusing to compromise. Auto-Renewal should be banned. Please don't make the same mistake as I did, don't give them your money. They would rather make a quick buck than try to keep long term customers.
Update: thanks for update ADVFN, but I think you are pandering to Trust pilot and your potential customers as you refuse to compromise on my issue. You have failed to send out any reminders about the auto-renewal and refuse to compromise on the multiple emails I’ve sent you. Will be taking you to small claims court.

Inadequate Response from ADVFN concerning personal abuse
Complained about abuse from several contributors on a share discussion board for Greatland Gold PLC. They also abused many other users. I suspect they may be short sellers or working on behalf there of. I complained to ADVFN about their personal attacks and they closed down my concern without any explanation for their adjudication. Complained to the FCA who stated this financial company is no longer regulated by them but I was pointed in the direction of Trading Standards.
PLEASE BE AWARE ADVFN is allegedly no longer regulated by the FCA.
