They plaster "we offer treatment in all…

They plaster "we offer treatment in all states" all over their website, even having a dedicated page that states they treat the entire state of Oklahoma. But then after you pay almost $200 for an evaluation and receive your 1 paragraph of results back, you find out they do not offer real treatment with a psych or any kind of medication management for your state. Not only that, but most doctors won't accept the "evaluation" at all. Money down the drain. Very dishonest company. Will be disputing.

This service is absolutely horrible

This service is absolutely horrible. I’ve never incurred such a massive waste of money in my life. I came to the site (based on a horrible recommendation from my doctor) to address the fact that I have extreme difficulties concentrating on reading when it’s important. Specifically, I have been unable to keep my mind from veering towards stressful and negative situations. The assessment took me hours and to my shock, I got “results” back from the “doctor” within minutes, which felt impossible considering the vast bulk of details I provided. The results were quite literally excerpts of information easily found online with a quick Google search. There was an entire excerpt in the report quoting suggestions from the National Sleep Foundation. While it was not the reason I took the assessment, I did make it clear that I have sleep apnea, which seems to have been ignored entirely. Through nothing I can control, the apnea can severely lower my average sleep hours, yet this report implied that getting low sleep was my fault and that I must be living a poor lifestyle. This included suggestions to change my diet. The only questions related to diet where generally “do I overeat or undereat at times.” My answer to these were a resounding “No.” I eat very healthy so it was incredibly insulting to have this stock information from the internet reported back to me. The report ultimately did not address anything about the vast other details I provided about the actual issues I’m experiencing.

Update: I'm re-reading this almost a year later from the original post after logging on to review a different service, and I notice I failed to include a comment that my review was heavily edited considering I could not fit my entire experience within the available characters and had a much longer review written (I am still disgusted with the insulting experience).

This company is a scam.

The company is a scam. They promise diagnoses but the when I received the preliminary assessment, they said all my diagnoses were "unspecified", meaning I'd have to get another appointment for $200 extra to get actual diagnoses.

Nowhere prior to taking the assessment does it say that you'll have to pay more to get proper diagnoses.

I spoke to some therapist friends and they said the whole process is slimy and unethical. I'd recommend just going to a therapist from psychology today.

Total scam, especially with their no-refunds policy.

Misdiagnosed! Please see professional in person.

I have suspected that I had ADHD for years due to all of the symptom research I have done. I am a nurse practitioner and treat many patients with it and have seen similarities in my own symptoms and being consistent with theirs. After years of being treated for anxiety and depression without relief, my symptoms reached a peak and were worse than they had ever been. My insurance unfortunately did not cover psychiatric services at the time and was going to cost over $3000 out of pocket for visits and evaluation. I learned about ADHD online from one of my patients, so I decided to give it a try since it would definitely be a more affordable option.

I started the online question survey and quickly thought that the questions seemed more geared towards anxiety and relationships and not much to do with more ADHD symptoms. It was like one of those surveys where if you answer a question a certain way it would take you down a question path based on that answer and if you had answered differently, it would have led down a different question path.

I received my results within an hour and said I should consider decreasing my caffeine intake due to anxiety and insomnia (I only drink 1 cup of coffee per day and rarely a zero soda), I should consider a learning disability (I had reported that I graduated Summa C Laude with a bachelor's degree in nursing and at the top of my class with honors from my master's program in nursing), and that I should consider a mood disorder. I was shocked! I did speak with my PCP about it and she changed up my anti-depressants which then led to my symptoms worsening to the point I began to have suicidal thoughts, not plans but like it would be better if I wasn't here anymore. I knew this was not normal and not normal for me and had to be due to the medication. I weaned off of it and thankfully it resolved, but I was still struggling. I learned that ADHD can become worse during menopause due to hormonal fluctuations and this was likely why my symptoms had seemed to worsen. I was able (2 years later) to change insurance companies that had psych coverage and see a local provider. I was tested and diagnosed with ADHD, predominantly inattentive type. I was started on Concerta and it was like my brain was immediately unscrambled. I have never slept better in my life now that my brain can shut up and I don't lay there for hours not being able to shut it down. My anxiety is minimal, and I have no depression. I am able to sit for long periods of time and focus without distraction. I am able to complete tasks now. I was on at least 5 different medications before this for anxiety/depression/mood, with one of them causing suicidal thoughts, and now I am only on 1 medication that has helped all of my symptoms.

I can't help but be very disturbed that my misdiagnosis by this platform could have cost me my life! And I went another 2 years untreated because I thought that this professional must have seen something I didn't see. I asked for another look initially and even provided additional information to further explain my symptoms, but the provider said he stood by his initial assessment and wasn't changing it.

Additionally, after not being diagnosed with ADHD by ADHD Online, I continued to get marketing emails about strategies to help with my ADHD. I asked them why they were sending those to me after telling me I didn't have it. No response.

My results said I did not have at least 6 of the criteria symptoms and I have all of them. Again, the questions I answered on the evaluation did not seem to have anything to do with ADHD and only anxiety.

I have now been on medication for 4 months and it has been life changing. I would not recommend this site after what I experienced and how the misdiagnosis could have had detrimental consequences, and it prolonged my treatment and worsening of my symptoms for an additional 2 years. That is a lot of time to suffer with worsening symptoms and their consequences.

It felt like medical gaslighting and I have since learned that women are very often misdiagnosed as just being hormonal, too emotional, bipolar/mood disorder, anxious, or depressed. All of the initial research was done on boys because they are typically physically hyperactive, where girls are mentally hyperactive and tend to internalize their symptoms.

I corresponded with Monica A. and she was very helpful. My evaluation was done on 2/7/2022 and I was not correctly diagnosed until 2/2/24.

We understand it must be disappointing that we were unable to certify a diagnosis of ADHD, as you may have been expecting. Many factors must be considered when making a diagnosis and our psychologists are only able to do so when all of the diagnostic criteria have been met.

Inappropriately diagnosing patients with ADHD who fail to meet the universally accepted diagnostic criteria is unethical and contrary to our core values and mission. Our psychologists will often include an explanation as to why a diagnosis of ADHD was not made and offer recommendations to further address the described symptoms, which we hope you considered.

All of our psychologists are licensed in good standing, have earned their doctorates and are experts in the field of ADHD. We have absolute confidence in their ability to make or exclude a diagnosis of ADHD.

We're glad you were able to seek out a second opinion and wish you the best on your mental healthcare journey.

They are a scam beware!

This company online will take your money and not provide you with anything helpful for your money. Be sure to read all the bad reviews unlike myself and take them seriously. I called this company prior to paying they have employees to make excuses on all the bad reviews they have. They say it takes 3-5 days for the process to complete. It only took three hours to get a joke response for $175.00. Which I received nothing for but a few lame ideas. Many other reviews also note in a few hours the invaluable and poor review of application was done also . Save your money ask your Doctor to see someone in person at an office unlike this online joke. This online system is not good and I got ripped off. (Boycott Mentavi Health ADHD online )

Thorough & Knowledgeable

I've thoroughly enjoyed my experience with ADHD Online as a patient since 2022. I was diagnosed with ADHD as a teenager, and switched to a virtual platform in my 30s, and I've found my Providers at ADHD Online to provide me with beneficial information on managing my ADHD, (it's so nice to speak to people who understand ADHD as opposed to my Primary Care Provider) as well as mandatory check-ins regarding my prescription. I'm thankful this option exists.

I appreciate that and feel it has been so helpful.

Super Unethical Company

They ran an ad in Feb for a deep discount ($99 instead of $179) and indicated that the discount was a rare thing - so I paid full price to sign up for their assessment - WHICH I DID NOT NEED SINCE I ALREADY HAD A DIAGNOSIS - and then the same ad ran again in March. I very politely emailed and asked for a refund due to the confusion etc. and received a response saying "thank you for reaching out as we are always looking for ways to improve customer experience but we are not able to refund you" - which is such ridiculous language as you are ABLE to do whatever you want.

Business practices that are un-empathetic, un-kind, and un-compassionate.

Also, in that assessment I carefully detailed my medication dosage and how long I have been taking it and explained I am only looking for a new provider due to moving...and still, when I had my appointment ($199) I was told by the provider that she would not prescribe the same dose and would only prescribe a significant decrease, with a goal of decreasing more.

So now I am out $378 and still don't have a prescription. It's so hard to move and get an ADHD prescription - you almost have to start all over, which is exhausting for people who are often already quite exhausted. Clearly they are not really thinking about their literal client base with their policies.

Do not use this service

Do not use this service. Did some digging on the psychologist who did my assessment, shes not licensed in her own state, her state denied it,because she did not do a proper residency. She came from one of those unaccredited/paper mill universities, where they hand out diplomas if you paid them enough.
I saw she had a license in another state where she clearly did not qualify . This genuine fraud. If you were they "diagnosed" do not beileve and find a actual psychologist who comes from a accredited university and can practice locally in their home state.

To good to be true….

When something sounds to good to be true it usually is. Well that’s this company. I have been struggling for so long and I was stupid enough to go along. Long story short, I “passed” their smart assessment “ stating I suffer ADHD combined type. I have for years and have been off and on medication for years as well. After paying $179 for that I was stupid enough to pay $199 for an appointment on December 28,2023. The NP was totally disinterested in what I was saying and was admit on putting me on a medication I had never heard of, Qelbree. I asked point blank why she just couldn’t put me on low dose meds I had taken before, Ritalin or Adderall. She told me that they had BAD interactions with one of my other medications and Qelbree would also HELP me with my severe anxiety. I found out my insurance will NOT even pay for this medication, thank God they didn’t. This medication was only approved for adult used in 2022 and cost over $600. I then looked into the medication myself and found out it is a Sel-NARI , which is exactly the family of drugs I TOLD her I could NOT take because they make me suicidal. The first warning for this drug is suicidal thoughts/attempts mental mood changes, PANIC ATTACKS, depression. Furthermore it does have interactions with the one medication that I’m on that she seemed so concerned about, The interactions ranging from dizziness difficulty concentrating impairment in thinking and judgment to COMA. I talk to the pharmacist about the interactions with that medication with Ritalin and Adderall and was told that they have NO interactions with that medication. So the NP either blatantly lied to me or she knows nothing about the medication‘s that she prescribes, either way she put me in a very dangerous situation. This has put in worse shape than before I even started. I have been trying to get someone, anyone to help me with this situation and all I get is check my portal and emails about how my insurance won’t pay for the Qelbree. I really feel I should at least get a refund for $199 appointment that put my life in danger, I’m not asking for a refund for the $179 for the “smart assessment “ because I got what I paid for there, but I do NOT feel that I should pay $199 to have a NP scribe me the wrong medication. So for a company who says their whole mission is to help people with ADHD, they did NOT do that for me at all. I still can not even get someone to discuss what happened. Not by email and I can not even get through to a person EVER on the phone. So I guess I learned a very expensive lesson. I am just so thankful my insurance company did not pay for that medication because I don’t even want to think about what could have happened if I had taken it

Missed Appointment due to app issue- no refund

I was not able to attend an appointment due to technical issues at the appointment time and immediately called, left a voicemail, and tried the livechat. But since it was past their "hours of operation" there was no one to assist and the live chat was just a bot. So I am out the money and did not get to see the provider. They offer no alternative methods of communicating with the provider if the technology fails and no admin or IT support after 5PM. What a waste of $169.

Horrible Experience

I completed and submitted the assessment online. I was given an "unspecified" diagnosis rather than ADHD because of co-occurring generalized anxiety (if you read the literature, not uncommon). The report written by the psychologist (whose license had expired in my state 6 years prior, does not participate in the telehealth registry, openly expresses an anti-diagnosis and anti-medication perspective in her private business, and describes intentionally granting less than appropriate diagnoses on a podcast) contained inaccuracies and typos. No attempt was gather additional information necessary to make a determination beyond "yes, you meet diagnostic criteria except that you also anxiety and childhood trauma." I was told maybe I should meditate. Managing ADHD-like symptoms is simply a matter of mental fitness. When I contacted the company, I was given the option to provide additional information to the provider (with no guidance on what additional information would be needed for a determination of whether the disorder was present or not, which is the service the company claims to deliver even in other responses on this site) and was repeatedly denied a refund.

The company's response says it all. A total lack of accountability and failure to address any of the described issues.

The most dishonest, scamming, misleading farce of a healthcare company.

You will never, ever receive a response in needed time. They screwed up my medication refill quantity and will not fix it.

I have been with this company for over a year dealing with this. From the time I started NONE of their doctors are the same. They are all new and change monthly. You will most likely not get the same doctor twice.

They are liars.

Rachel B is the nastiest support agent I’ve ever dealt with in my life! No empathy or care! Instead of empathizing and humanizing me they threatened me when they’re the ones who made a mistake forcing me to be without medication for days. Insanely sociopathic behavior to be coming from a “customer care” agent. Find a different job!

Gladly going to another healthcare provider.

Our goal is to remove hurdles and advocate on behalf of our patients. Our patients have access to physicians who are board-certified and our support staff are here to assist you every step of the way. Don't waste your money

Don't waste your money. After I spent considerable time and effort carefully filling out the assessment, I received a rather quick response that led me to believe that no serious consideration could have been put into reviewing my results. You might say that I'm dissatisfied, because I didn't get the response I was looking for, but that's simply not the case. Many of the questions were based on childhood factors, however I'm a middle-aged adult. It may be that current research hasn't caught up with adult onset ADHD. This program may work well enough for classic ADHD in children and younger people, but if you're a struggling adult, look elsewhere.
