Reception was efficient and the agent was welcoming, friendly and polite. Paperwork amd payment went well, no fuss. All clearly explained. Good parking location.
Easy to book on line and this was supported by excellent service when collecting the car. Location was easy to access and quick to collect.

We rented a Kia from ADA Menton and…
We rented a Kia from ADA Menton and noticed that occasionally the automatic transmission was shifting roughly and sometimes wouldn’t engage right away when starting off from a stop. Second day we were sitting at a stoplight and could smell that something under the hood was hot. A warning light came on the dash saying the transmission was overheated and to stop the car immediately, which we did. Multiple tries and the warning light was still there.
Multiple sources on the internet talk about these problems with Kia transmissions and what to do, one of which is not to drive the car until it is checked.
We called the ADA customer service number(no English speakers there) and were told to leave the car where it is and they would send a tow truck and a cab to take us to our hotel. The tow truck came maybe an hour after but the cab never came. After another call they said they would send another taxi which also never arrived. So a couple of hours into this and we got a taxi ourselves (70 euros) and arrived back at our place late at night.
Next morning the ADA dealership where we got the car had no info about the problem and a few phone calls later said there was nothing wrong with the car and that they wouldn’t refund even for the time we didn’t have the car. I also showed the receipt for the taxi fare but no reimbursement for that either.
They also didn’t have another car so we are basically out of luck.
This might be a franchise issue but to us that’s irrelevant. We will pursue getting a refund but how that goes remains to be seen. All in all this is the worst of our experiences in our Europe travels. Had this company offered a refund at least for the time we paid but had no car, or arranged another car, we might have felt differently.
I guess this is why you stick with the major companies.
Something to add to the above is that we called the ADA assistance number with the help of a French woman who came to our assistance. We were told not to drive the car and to leave the keys inside for the tow truck driver and wait for a taxi which we did. He arrived before we had left re no taxi ever showed.
We had restarted the car and the “do not drive” message was still on the dash when we had last looked.
Our decision to not drive the car and cause further damage wasn’t ours alone, it was what the ADA person instructed us to do over the phone.
I think as much as anything the response from the franchise came as a surprise. I was told bluntly that the tow truck driver told her on the phone there was nothing wrong with the car and that I didn’t know how to drive it.
The car is an automatic so there’s not much to know. Ive driven for many years, manual and automatic, plus large trucks and piloted airplanes. We were sitting at a stoplight when the car overheated.
Again, this is a known issue with the Kia transmissions so whether the car will start etc is irrelevant. We didn’t want to cause damage and the person at the ADA assist line agreed
Had the rental agent offered to refund the time we lost I wouldn’t have written a review at all

Our car...FIAT Panda was not very clean when we collected it...inside and out. It was an older car so I suppose it doesn't get the attention that newer ones might. Otherwise...ADA was fine and I would use them again if I were to stay in Beaune for any length of time.
A satisfying experience
The agent at the ADA office was very helpful, friendly and professional. Our check-in and check-out was quick and without a problem. Our vehicle was in good shape and we appreciate that ADA honored our request for an automatic transmission.

I made reservations for a car. And got a confirmation for a rental in Paris!!
It took another 3 hours on the phone to find out that the only cars to be rented would be from Charles De Gaulle airport, an hour north, when we were traveling south, so impossible. Very frustrating, a waste of time.
Excellent!!!!

Very good help for the two minor problems that we had.
Good value
The booking and payment process was easy online and the price of the vehicle was good value. However, there seemed to be a disconnect between ADA and the actual agency. I phoned the garage at Sainte Honorine des Pertes 3 days before we were due to arrive, to check that the vehicle would be available to drive away. I was initially told they didn't have a vehicle or a reservation in my name. However, after some questioning on our part (good that my wife speaks French!), I was reassured a vehicle would be available. On the day, it was, and the rest of the pick-up and return process went well. I would use ADA again.
excellent service
The vehicle was in excellent order
The vehicle was in excellent order. Any issues where reported by and recorded by the agent. No problems during period of hire or on returning the vehicle.
