Frustrating and Unfinished Website Project with Active 9 – Avoid!

I hired Active 9 for an inclusive website and branding package, paying £250 upfront, and an additional £200 for four extra pages, totalling £450 - plus an additional £99 for domain transfer/protection.
The initial sales process was promising, but the actual delivery has been a nightmare, severely delaying my business launch.

Our Web Design & Development Process:

We divide the entire project into 4 phases:

Phase 1 Alpha:

In alpha we design the layout of the website (mock-up) and show it to you that how the website will be going to look like.

Phase 2 Beta:

Once you approved the mock up design of the website then we'll start on the front-end (design the inner pages) & the back end (upload the pictures, content google map, contact us form) of the website.

Phase 3 Gama:

In phase 3 we'll check the complete functionality of the website to make sure everything is perfectly working fine, once we are confident on the website then we'll give the link the website to you, before going live if there is any changes you want us to make on the website so that we can get it done.

Phase 4 Go Live:

Once you are 100 satisfied with the website then we'll go live with the website.

Active 9 created a preview site with placeholder text (Beta) using a Wordpress Elementor Template, and despite it taking over a month for me to finalise my content, they were incredibly slow and unresponsive to my requests to integrate the final copy and my final branding. Shockingly, they made the website live without my consent, still showing the draft placeholder text.

Communication deteriorated rapidly to unhelpful, one-word WhatsApp replies, despite good communication during the sales process. Critical aspects of the project, like transferring the domain and setting up Google Workspace were painfully slow, forcing me to offer to take them on myself. The branding support I'd paid for was extremely limited; my requests to refine the logo were ignored, and my new brand guidelines completely disregarded, leaving an old logo on the site. The additional four pages I'd paid for were also never updated and the copy has been simply pasted in with zero care or attention to visual elements. They even failed to input the right contact information.

After significant effort on my part, including multiple firm emails, I finally managed to secure control of my domain and the WordPress login. However, even with this, Active 9 ultimately failed to make the promised edits, leaving me with a half-finished website full of placeholder content, despite having paid them a significant amount for a complete, launched site.

This experience has been incredibly frustrating and a significant waste of time and money. I would strongly advise others to look elsewhere for web design services.

Sami was super responsive and proactive. Our initial request was to make some changes (address) and migrate the website from another provider. There were some issues with obtaining the source web design from the previous provider, so Sami proactively downloaded the website content and put it onto a different platform. Then he made his suggested changes (upon agreeing them with me) which led to the website being more efficient and better presented. Really good job!
