Appalling treatment from management

I regret to share my deeply disappointing experience with Activ8 Gyms, specifically concerning the yoga class held at their Billingham Forum location. My mother and I joined with high hopes, seeking a peaceful and fulfilling yoga practice. However, what we encountered was far from satisfactory.

The primary issue we encountered was the consistent sound bleed from neighboring classes, severely disrupting our yoga sessions. Despite numerous complaints to the management, this problem remains unresolved. It's evident that the gym's management shows utter contempt and a lack of respect for the yoga class and its instructor.

I must emphasize that our complaints, made both verbally and in writing, have fallen on deaf ears. The lack of response and action from Activ8 Gyms' staff is incredibly disheartening and disrespectful to their customers.

According to the Consumer Rights Act 2015, customers have the right to expect services that are carried out with reasonable care, skill, and quality. Unfortunately, Activ8 Gyms has failed to meet these minimum standards, leaving us with a disappointing experience.

Additionally, the disregard for health and safety under the Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 raises serious concerns. The gym's failure to address potential hazards further highlights their lack of responsibility towards their members' well-being.

It's also disheartening to see that Activ8 Gyms may be in violation of the Unfair Trading Regulations 2008, by engaging in unfair commercial practices that harm consumers' rights.

I cannot recommend Activ8 Gyms based on our experience. The yoga class, although promising, is undermined by the gym's management, leading to an unsatisfactory and disruptive atmosphere.

Overall, we have been left feeling frustrated and unappreciated as loyal members. I strongly urge the management to take our concerns seriously and rectify the issues promptly to provide the services they promised on their website.

I hope my review serves as a cautionary message to potential customers, and I sincerely hope Activ8 Gyms takes immediate action to improve their services and respect their members.

One star is too much,I had the system…

One star is too much,I had the system installed 5 yrs ago,after numerous phone calls to say it wasn't working,no response from the company Eventually one of their team looked at it and I got hot water for a while.Again system stopped working this year,was told it was the pipes that needed to be replaced as the glycol fluid has leaked out.
This is the breakdown Activ8 Solar Service – 1.5hrs Labour 1 €350 €350 Labour per hour - Man 1 2 €90 €180 Labour per hour - Man 2 3.5 €90 €315 DN16 pack 2 €12 €24 DN16 Stainless Steel pipe (Per Meter) 6 €35 €350 Leak Seal 1 €35 €35 Total €1,254 Discount €350 Total €904 plus vat which was €1254.
I contacted SMS plumbing & Heating, Shane has the system working.The time it took was 3 hours,the cost was €220.that reads
Two hundred & twenty euro.Pipes didn't need replacing,it was a little fixture in the hotpress that needed to be tighten where the fluid has leaked,glycol replaced it cost €100.and & €120 parts & labour.

Time wasters

Time wasters! Hold our money for 5 month, and as a result job is not done! Please don't use their services, very unprofessional and ignorant. Seems that trying delete all bad reviews, leaving just good ones. AVOID!

Even one star is too much for them. They took a deposit from us, advised that the panels will be installed in the middle of September. Their engineers wanted from us extra money for backyard solar panels, now as a result they are going to refund our drposit. Very dissapointed, they are real time wasters. Please avoid their services, not professionals at all!

Don't let them waste your time

I filled in webform to make an enquiry. Much later I received a phone call from them. So much later I had almost forgotten I'd made the enquiry. After collecting a lot of information, much of it irrelevant to the proposal, I was given an appointment for a surveyor to call the next day and told I would be called back in about 15 to 20 minutes for this to be confirmed. I waited in but the call back didn't come so I went out. The call came belatedly and a voice mail was left saying I had to call back or the appointment would not be kept. I called back and was kept on hold for about half an hour. I was given the option for activ8 to call back within 24 hours if possible by which time the appointment would have been missed. Activ8 are clearly understaffed, don't understand the meaning of customer service and regard their time as valuable and the customers as valueless. If you value your own time don't waste it with activ8. In my experience they will only mess you about and waste your time.

Very unhappy customer

I had solar panels fitted over a year ago and signed a contract unbeknownst to myself, salesman was very pushy (should have seen the warning sign), also offered discounts if I signed up before a certain date, (another warning sign I didn't cop) The salesman told me the system would feed back into my existing system and reduce my bi monthly bill, didn't happen! Rang and enquired why and was told to get my smart meter fitted and I'd be sorted!!! Guess what? Smart meter fitted and no credit at all now.
The sales guy when called after cleary, did not know how the system worked. When I contacted them again I was bluntly told nothing could be done because I signed a contract! Well we'll look into the contract and after reading a few reviews I see other people are in the same boat, money down the drain with this company and then I find out a lot of other people have been potentially conned too.
Certainly would not recommend in any way shape or form!! Waste of good money!

Very poor after care

Very poor after care. After installation they were in a hurry to get on the road so we got a 3 minute run down on the system which neither me or my husband understood what they were talking about. We have rang 3 times and each time we were promised a call back.....still waiting. A few of our neighbours are interested in getting the solar panels but I won't be recomeding them. There is not enough hot water to fill a bath! €8500. Very dissapointed.

membership cancellation

Sunday 29 05 2022This morning I called in at the Forum Active8 to cancel my membership
The receptionist kept asking me if she could get someone from the Active8 team to have a chat with me, I asked why when they failed to contact me before after I had made several visits to arrange a programme for me to improve a medical condition I have
The promises of a phone call to arrange a session/programme that never happened I feel as though I have wasted in excess of £200 waiting for a none existent programme
My condition has improved no thanks to Active8

Worst system ever

We went with activ8 for a full system of panels costing over 10k in 2019. The system promises 3500 kw hrs a year. It's three years in and we have had a total of 2624 over the full three years. That's a total loss of 7876 kw. Our bills are over 400 bi monthly. We have called so many times and told it's in perfect order. Savings down the drain with very little return on the system we were sold

If you want to pay twice the actual…

If you want to pay twice the actual cost of a solar installation then go with Activ8. Do your research into other companies before parting with your money to these cowboys. You will save thousands by avoiding this shower.

Discriminate Staff

I would give 0 star but sadly Google didn't allow. Do not use this company if you want people not to be discriminated. I was booked onto 2 jobs but due to my son aged 3 who has additional needs being rushed to hospital I had to cancel 5 hours before event. This was after confirming as I was all ready to attend, since this they have removed myself from another job claiming some excuse of needing someone highly trained. This is a excuse in my eyes as I have 15 years history of working within catering industry including owning and running a family owned pub which provides food.

Therefore the supposed experience needed I already have, they just removed myself due to fact I had a family commitment. I would not recommend working or using this agency if you want well looked after staff to cover your events.

I would recommend the other catering/private events agency I am also contracted to but not leaving any doors open for Mr Mark Meurer to take legal action.

My degree in law means I understand law very well and can not take legal action for truth being told its called freedom of speech , think that's actually common knowledge 🤔

This company not interested in the…

This company not interested in the small guy in my experience . Read their info on service ( Part of their service included service person going onto roof to check panel itself) but when I enquired during the service the guy didn`t know anything about this .Said he didn`t carry a ladder in his van for services and that they would only go on the roof if there was a problem identified. Fair enough ? but when I provided the ladder he was very unhappy but eventually let his shadow fall on the roof. However following this service I had a leak inside the hot-press - a slow drip where one of the pipes had been a little strained ( Had asked that a small sliver of plastic be removed from inside small glass "port-hole" in the system . When I rang to explain they refused to deal with me until I paid additional service fee in advance. All sorts of excuses e.g. that my system was not standard or some such thing despite the fact that I had had no other problems since I had it installed in 2008. I see now that they are getting in on the solar PV gig _ GIVE THEM A BIG MISS

active8 solar energies…

I have had my solar panels installed with active8solar energie, Ireland. They did a great job with regards, the installations and doing everything that was required. I had trouble with the panels 2 months after the works were done because of strong winds and the panels appeared to have come loose. They did send an engineer to check it out and eventually the panels were reinstalled. That was all fine until we discovered that the sales person had deceived us in saying that we would get back 300 euros from our energy provider annually. He went on to say that we could recover the cost of the entire installation over a period of 4 and a half years. I rang up our energy provider and was told we were not being compensated for our surplus energy. The company never replied to my email. I am still awaiting clarification on this matter. I would otherwise not be promoting this company or would not have installed solar panels because it will be 12 years before i will recover the cost.

If dealing with Amazon is painful then these guys are like paracetamol

I run a small ecommerce business that has struggled with many of the aspects of selling on Amazon. Active 8 have provided me with invaluable insight and quickly proved to be willing to go above and beyond to help my business figure out the Amazon puzzle. Their business model is largely success based, which makes it easier for start-ups like mine to do business with them. I can highly recommend them to anyone with an Amazon business that needs help to grow or if you are tired of dealing with Amazon on a day to day basis.
