While we don't verify specific claims because reviewers' opinions are their own, we may label reviews as "Verified" when we can confirm a business interaction took place. Read more

Highly reliable & easy to use
I have used two Actisense devices, both highly reliable, easy to configure and use.
They also offer great support for device customisation.
Only good experience.
Actisense USB gateway - Signal-K
I’ve had the Actisense USB gateway NGT-1 for a couple of years now. Always works flawlessly. I use it to connect Signal-K on a Raspberry Pi to my SeaTalkNG/NEMA 2000 network.

The NGT-1-USB hardware works fine
The NGT-1-USB hardware works just the way you would want: plug and play. Actisense software, while functional, could use polishing. For instance, using a high resolution monitor, all the tool icons are too small.

Review of Several Actisense Products
NGT-1-USB, Actisense Toolkit: I use this to complement my Maretron gateway, and like how Actisense provides a deeper view of what is going on at the data level. However, I find the toolkit and NMEA 2000 reader to be confusing and therefore inconvenient to use, navigate, switch between, and determine which to use for what. For these reasons, I use these products only rarely.
EMU-1: I installed this in a client's boat, but was never able to calibrate the unit to any of the instruments on the Westerbeke diesel. your tech support was unable to help.
A2K-MPT-1: In N2K cabling, pins should always point to power. Unfortunately, Maretron seems to have the only power tee in the industry that recognizes this. Both ports on the power tee should/must be female. The Actisense power tee requires the addition of a gender changer to properly construct the backbone.
A2K-4WT: Excellent. Consider making a 6- or 8-way version.
A2K-T-MFF: too bulky; we do not use it.
Cables & Connectors: Excellent quality. I prefer Actisense and Maretron cabling over all others.

Great support
Had an NDC-4 installed for years running well when after installation of a new 3rd party wifi adapter the NMEA-0183 system became unreliable and a ground loop was assumed. With the continuous and patient support of Actisense's support team the issues were resolved one by one and the system was brought back to normal using an Actisense NBF-3.
