Maser (Muhammad) Azizi just did an annual check on my furnace. He was very mannerly and worked consistently to get the work done. He was very thorough in all the inspection of my furnace and hot water tank and explained everything to me and was very patient with my questions.

Direct Energy Protection Plans taken over by Action Furnace

We live in Edmonton and this is a warning for any Direct Energy customers whose Furnace, Water Heater etc Protection Plan was taken over by Action Furnace. Direct Energy replaced our furnace in 2021 with a Goodman and because our Direct Energy Protection Plan offered $1500 for repairs, parts and labour, we only took a 1yr plan for labour associated with the new furnace's heat exchanger. That two year old Goodman furnace failed its safety inspection on 23rd August 2023 and Action Furnace advised us that despite Direct Energy's letter of 2019 clearly stating that the policy provides $1500 for repairs, parts and labour, the heat exchanger is excluded. Apparently a new part is covered by warranty but not the labour required. The cost of labour? $2000, almost half the cost of the furnace. So if you have a Direct Energy Protection Plan taken over by Access you need to make sure you are absolutely aware of what is included and if necessary. We are absolutely livid that this Goodman furnace has been of such inferior quality and completely disgusted with a Protection Plan which doesn't include what is probably the most expensive repair.
