I award Acer 5 stars not for good…

I award Acer 5 stars not for good service but for bad service their laptops have a problem with the hinge fixings separating from the lid there are loads of people have this problem so as far as I was able to get with Acer is supplying firstly a note of the SID number with a report on the problem they answered that by asking me to provide photographs and the serial number which I did and never got a reply I sent a reminder and again no reply. this is a well known problem with their laptops which they completely ignore and they also ignore faults which they know about its a manufacturing problem that they just Ignore I will never purchase another Acer product and i hope that people reading this will do likewise at the end of the day they are knowingly selling products which develop a fault and then you get ignored shockingly bad customer services and not worthy of your trade. avoid at all costs or you will end up with a broken lid on your pc like many others what a disgraceful attitude from a world wide company.

Acer Predator Triton 500 i7

Bought directly from Acer UK (December 2020). I wanted a fast laptop with ethernet connection. Not concerned that speakers (typically) output underneath, as I use a headset. Love the backlit keyboard but mostly the speed & all around capability! The right machine for me.

Bought a laptop in August 2020

Bought a laptop in August 2020, it broke down around end of November, tried contacting customer service, kept asking me to do various things which I did but didn't help. They then sent me a link to fill in to send the laptop back to their workshop, after filling up the form and sending all the necessary information, I then received an acknowledgement email but without any instructions on where to send or how to send it. I then received another email asking me to try something else which I did but did not work again. I at the end called them and eventually managed to speak to a guy who arranged the laptop to be picked up, asking to pack it properly, I said I have the original package that I received the laptop in, but apparently I still need to secure it even more than the way they initially shipped me my new laptop! Anyways, this was all about a month ago, received an email yesterday saying they are awaiting spares, received another email today saying the machine needs to be sent to them when I have already done it. It looks like at Acer, the left hand does not now where the right hand is. My son needs it now more than ever with this lockdown but I have no clue when they will fix my laptop and send it back to me. Never buying another Acer ever again.

Customer service is shocking!!

Customer service is shocking!!! I ordered and they lost my address. I missed a call so I called back, I was on hold for over 40 minutes to be told I needed to wait for someone to call me again? I finally found out after waiting for ages that they'd lost my address - this could've been an email? Then to top it off, laptop finally arrived and its broken! I got no proper help or support anywhere and the whole process has been a joke. Avoid at all costs!!

Don't buy Acer

A year ago I bought an Acer Inspire 3 for my Christmas present. It was cheap, but it was to replace my very cheap-at-the-time 11 year old pc of random make. What a bad buy the acer was. It has been slow from the word go (my 11 year old pc was faster!) and it has just got slower and slower. Zoom is pretty much impossible, and waiting to open a Word doc is downright painful. It takes minutes to do processes that should be done in seconds. I contacted Acer support for advice, as it is still in warrenty, and was told to do a factory reset. Since that will delete all my data, meaning that I have to copy it over to my external drive which will take forever as it is so slow, I don't think that is an acceptable solution. There must be something that can be done before resorting to that, but since I had to write to them twice to get that answer, I am not sure I have the patience to follow up on it - it's exhausting! I have now bought a chromebook which suits my needs and I am going to advise everyone I know, and everyone I don't, NEVER to buy an acer produce - EVER.

Bought an £897.00

Bought an £897.00, Nitro 5 Core 15 laptop via Laptops Direct in Late August for our Son to use at University thinking we had purchased a high spec machine, WRONG! in November the lap top failed and was returned as instructed by the supplier under warranty to Acer, in what was an arduous (to say the least) process, this was received by Acer on the 2nd of December and after numerous unhelpful phone calls I was finally informed on 21st of December that allegedly BOTH the SSD and the Motherboard had failed, had they informed us earlier that the SSD had failed I would have immediately demanded a refund as any work stored on the machine will have been lost, making it pointless hanging onto what is obviously a sub standard machine.
To summarize, the computer is clearly extremely poor quality and there has been a total lack of communication from the company who have been extremely evasive with the facts presumably to avoid replacing the machine which when we do get back we will have little faith in.

I do not recommend acera products and…

I do not recommend acera products and service in the UK! after a year the key on the keyboard in the Acer Helios 700 Predator broke. Acer did not take the extended warranty into account and I have been waiting for the keyboard to be repaired for 2 months. This is embarrassing behavior and not very professional !!!

Bought a acer tablet laptop 11"

Bought a acer tablet laptop 11". After a year laptop has got blue screen with bcd file missing with error code 34. Software problem can not be fixed without you buying a recovery usb stick from acer at a cost of £40. I have doubt the software problem created by acer deliberately to rip of their own acer customers. There was was no reason for such fault to appear, i kept the data in tip top condition updating regularly. Only visiting well reputable websites and never download any software.

Had my computer for a year

Had my computer for a year. The hard drive was shot and had to be replaced. Contacted the company and was told that they could do nothing because I had brought my computer to Staples where I had purchased it. I then sent them the hard drive. They contacted me and said that indeed, the hard drive was defective. They offered to send me a new one. I said that I had already purchased the hard drive and had it installed. They then said that there was nothing more they could do. They could not reimburse the hard drive that I had already purchased. Do not buy a computer from Acer if you want something that will last more than a year and want a company that will offer customer service and stand by its products.

Hinge got broken and they want us to pay for it

I don't recommend ACER. They didn't accept our complaint even though the warranty was valid and the laptop got broken because of a production flow (a screw socket got stripped and then a hinge got broken). We had used it for five months only before it happened. They were even so insolent that they demanded of us to pay for fixing it. We will never buy any ACER product and we'll recommend our family and friends some other producer.

I wish I had not bought this laptop

I wish I had not bought this laptop. Despite replacing the hard drive with a solid state one and increasing the ram, it still takes ages to fire up and many times does not connect to the internet with its wifi. Don't buy anything with an AMD Duel- core Processor.

Telephone support is handled by an incomprehensible mumbling broken English robot who just slams down the phone.

I purchased a new Acer laptop a couple of months ago. At first it appeared to be working well but then some problems occurred which seem to be caused by the way Acer implemented or installed their software. I went to the support area of their website and raised several support tickets.
In due course I received some emailed responses which did not make sense and I queried them. I was then told to contact their support centre by telephone. Their telephone support number got me through to an almost incomprehensible mumbling robot speaking in broken English demanding I key in some digits of a code which I had difficulty translating into English. Being unable to decipher what the mumbling robot was saying, the phone was abruptly slammed down with no option to speak to a human being.
I have since tried for a couple of weeks to raise a complaint but Acer doesn't seem to have a complaints department and my emailed messages to them have been ignored.

Acer Extenza 15 - Steer Clear!

I purchased an Acer Extenza 15 on 1st January 2020. In early September 2020 one of the keys fell off. I returned the laptop to Acer via the retailer I bought from. They refused to repair, stating that the key could not possibly have just randomly fallen off (it did) and that it was a result of "customer induced damage" (it wasn't). They refused to repair it unless I paid them £50 for the repair. I declined and ask them to send it back to me. I can get it fixed cheaper in my local high street. I must stress that this laptop had had no more than normal everyday usage in the 9 months before the key fell off. I have since purchased another Lenovo (my previous laptop was a Lenovo and I had no issues with it even after 4 years - it was just getting a bit old and slow). It feels much more solid in comparison the the Acer. They cost a similar amount. I will never buy another Acer after this experience. Terrible quality and appalling customer service. Steer clear!

I am an educationist and because of…

I am an educationist and because of online classes i opted to buy an acer aspire laptop. It functioned well for about 3 weeks, after which the screen started flickering from the centre at the top.
We lodged a complaint and to give them credit they accepted the complaint and gave a number for the service centre. After repeated contacting an engineer finally came and said that the display would have to be replaced. The laptop would have to be opened and the number taken down after which they would seek a replacement. It would take a week or more.
All this time my classes were suffering since i was unable to see all my students since one side of the screen was completely white.
I can understand because of the epidemic the service was slow but a sincere request to the acer makers to provide good quality laptops to people who are not very tech proficient.
I put in my hard earned money for a brand new laptop and I don't expect it to develop issues.

Scam?

Ordered a laptop online and was told it would be dispatched in around 3 days and I’d receive an email telling me so. 8 days went by so I emailed them asking for an update and they wrote back asking for a picture of my ID with next to no explanation. After I did, I was told it would be dispatched the next day. I waited another 10 days and never received as much as an email. I phoned the customer service line and the woman was quite short but apologised, said she didn’t know what the problem was and that she would get it sorted immediately. Now a whole month on from purchase and a PayPal case later and still no laptop. The most awful company and customer service I have ever dealt with.

One very upset customer

Acer are rubbish. Never ever will i buy their Laptops again. My Husband bought two for myself & him. Within the year my Left hand hinge broke & the charger failed to work. Got in touch with Currys where we bought them from, They would not fix it as said it was a cosmetic thing. Got in touch with Acer, who also would not fix it ,as said Currys should fix it,as was still under the warranty. After reading the reviews,I read that other people had also had problems with Hinges breaking on them. I am now left with a Laptop which is taped up & I cannot close the Lid & no charger that works,Luckily I can use my Husbands charger.
