Highly Recommended. Very happy customer.

I have used Ace Car care now twice with two of my Audi A5’s. The Services carried out are Window Tinting, Caliper Painting, Alloys Fitted, Alloy Protectors, New tyres. Their customer communication is fantastic. You may find cheaper prices elsewhere but these guys know their craft. Quality care care, in my opinion you get what you pay for. I would highly recommend. Big shout out to Phil, Michelle and Aisha for always going above and beyond for me.

Make sure they check your car over with you before they work on it because they will not take responsibility for their mistakes

If you go to these people make sure you check your car over with the technician before and after the job because if they break it or damage it they will deny all responsibility. Make up your own mind but be aware

To elaborate.,
I took my car for a remap. Everything was working on my car when I parked it up.
I waited in the waiting room and the technician, after a while, came to me saying my instrument cluster was faulty and I had no guages or warning lights. He said he noticed it driving round but decided to try and diagnose it by plugging in a code reader, a process they always do anyway before a remap. Personally, if a car had that bad a fault I wouldn't have touched it in case blame was apportioned to me, never mind plug a code reader in.
After a bit of a heated debate the guy offered to check the fuses. Part way through this the owner appeared and told me to take my car as my attitude was wrong and I'd given them a faulty car. My point was and always is , why did your technician try to rectify a fault he apparently hadn't caused and why didn't he report the fault to me immediately before he touched the car?
After more debate and my argument falling on deaf ears the owner said they would check the fuses but he doubted it would be that.
After about 20 minutes they confirmed it wasn't a fuse and they'd checked all the relevant fuses and they're all fine. Again they stated I'd given them a faulty car and I was trying it on.
After getting nowhere I said I would get a second opinion and go from there.
I had to take the car home with no guages or tell tale lights.
I got home and checked the fuses myself. Took five minutes and found the fuse for "instrument cluster" blown. Replaced it and all good. Tried the ignition on and off multiple times and still all good. Decided to go back to Ace Remaps to see what they thought.
Saw the owner John who basically didn't care, didn't want to know and basically told me to get out.
He complained about my attitude and how I spoke to his staff, but pardon me, you lot had just broken my car and tried to say I had lied about it's condition when I brought it in. He even admitted a 5amp fuse won't just blow by itself.
The fuse they apparently checked was the one I'd replaced.
Also my dash cam hadn't got any footage on it from while it was in there. Everything before and after was fine but John tried to blame the missing footage on the fault on my car. The fault they'd caused.
If the owner responds he will be in denial as he does in other responses. He will also say I was rude to his staff, which in hindsight I guess I was, but can anybody be surprised with his attitude.

All I will say to anyone reading revues, these guys have a lot of positive reviews for good work but the measure of a company is how they deal with issues when they mess up. In this they fall well short and their process for checking cars in to stop these he said she said issues occurring is non existent.
Hopefully nothing will go wrong with your vehicle if you're reading this, but if it does don't expect them to sort it out or take responsibility

My advice with this company is BEWARE

My advice with this company is BEWARE!
SHORT STORY: After my windows were tinted (a process using water), the electric tailgate (previously working normally) ceased to operate. ACE diagnosed this as a ‘short circuit’. Short circuits are, of course, commonly caused by water ingress.
LONG STORY: This is my experience. I booked my car for five windows to be tinted including the two electric side windows and the electric tailgate. After collecting the car I popped around the corner to Tesco and about 20 minutes later opened the tailgate to put my shopping in and as normal, pressed the button on the tailgate to close it and IT DID NOT CLOSE. I went straight back to ACE. They tried pressing the button a few times but no joy. They then connected their diagnostic tablet to the car and it said that there was 'a short circuit between the switch and the battery'. Hmmmm. A short circuit?? Would that be a short circuit immediately following a tinting process which involves water???
When I questioned this, I asked them whether they thought it was just a coincidence given that ever since I owned the car, the tailgate switch has operated normally for me and that in the few hours the vehicle has been in their possession to work with a process involving water, that the switch should have failed at that exact time with a short circuit. They said it WAS a coincidence OR (they said) the switch was broken and I knew it was broken before leaving the car with them that morning. (Just dealing with that latter point, as a solicitor, when push comes to shove, I feel that I will be believed when I say that the tailgate switch had never failed me before).
So there we have it. That was their final word. Either it was a coincidence that despite the water-based process and a short circuit, the switch just happened to fail on that very day, or I was dishonest.
MY RECOMMENDATION: Consider carefully whether you want to risk this company working on your car at all. If you do, I suggest (1) you get someone from ACE to come outside when you arrive and demonstrate to them that all electric door and tailgate switches are working normally; (2) take a video of that exercise; and (3) ensure they put an accurate note on your job sheet regarding the demonstration before you leave your car with them.
Otherwise, your decision to use ACE for tinting could be a very costly error of judgment.

I had my wheels powder coated at ace…

I had my wheels powder coated at ace car care, I collected and did 9 miles around speed restricted Shrewsbury, by Tesco a real bad noise started , I took it to the nearest garage I knew on battlefield industrial estate, there they checked the wheel nuts, the 3 wheels were not properly fixed, the front one was hanging on by hardly any thread. My wheels were not torqued up properly, confirmed by the garage I took it too. I notified ace car care who were totally not interested in my problem, the attitude of the man on the front desk was disgusting, a prickly prat , their car care stinks, if I had headed home at 60mph could have been curtains for me and my car. I would not recommend this company, even after using for body repairs before.

Avoid at all Cost

Read this before taking your car to these people…..they may be able to do small jobs…..

Please note, I never write reviews or leave feedback, but I felt the need to do this as I’m sure everyone feels the same about their car as I did do

So where to start……first the overall staff amazing and great and friendly - the Owner less so…..when questioned about the quality of the company’s work

So, my car went in for a what was described as a simple stone-chip and paint job….. they completed the work and the stone chip was completely gone which was great but only to come out with a different colour bonnet to the rest of the car which was quite alarming so I headed back to Ace to discuss the different colour bonnet to the rest of the car on which they explained that the whole car is a completely different colour. Each panel is a different colour - if that’s true please could someone let me know as I was told by him that even freshly painted Audi cars or BMW cars ect….all have different colour panels!!! Not too sure about that

Anyhow, they said that they could colour match the car to the rest of the car, so I allowed them to have the car for a second time to try and get the bonnet the correct colour to the rest of the car……

On collection of my car, I did notice but there were a few imperfections in the paintwork but since it wasn’t cleaned, I told them that I would let them know how I felt about the paperwork and colouration after my car cleaner had to clean my car a few days later

So fast forward to cleaning day - on completion of the car being cleaned, you could see the following

Orange pill paintwork - so much so you’d be as ashamed to let a car leave your place at work looking in this state

Speckles within the paintwork or dust nibs but far too many that it wouldn’t be correct - okay so much so you would be ashamed to let a car leave your place of work looking in this state

Overspray on one of the door doors - unacceptable for a professional workshop

A rough finish/spray too the carbon fibre and honeycomb section of the car - unacceptable this wasn’t cleaned or checked before the car was given back to me

Not completed paint job around a small section of a light - again, no quality control or the car would be released back to me

Worst of all the colour match still is incorrect to the rest of the Car which is the main reason the car went in for a mistake that they had done in the first place right?

So off to Ace I went again after informing them of these imperfections and issues with the job to discuss with Phil and the owner Phil was very nice very understanding unfortunately the owner not so made a lot of excuses about this about the weather and this and that and really didn’t actually own up to making mistakes and not doing the job correctly but don’t worry he said he would guarantee his work for two years so they would have my car in and put right what they did wrong which unfortunately they had two bites of the cherry I declined as they didn’t do the job right in the first place

Again, this is just for people who love their cars as much as I do be very mindful when taking your car to these people, they don’t know how to deal with certain types of cars especially very expensive ones with very decent paint work before it went in

Great work and well done ruining a £100K plus car

Had my car in for some body repair work, and the service was absolutely outstanding. From start to finish! Extremely pleased with the work carried out. Can’t remember the kind gentleman’s name who I dealt with, short, fat bald guy, but he was brilliant. A credit to the team. Fully recommend.

Not exactly polite in email responses and the customer service is nil. In terms of price not competitive either - was prepared to pay the extra for the convenience of location …. My advice would be AVOID

refurb wheels

avoid diamond cut and powder coat work to wheel leave a shabby finish. blame the customer for damage and attitude stinks. not very professional.

When I booked the car in I was told by the woman behind the desk that my wheels would be like new when done. What a joke
I would say what a waste of £600 to have diamond cut and powder coat.

Reply to your message
Actually the mark on the one wheel was noticeable it was a bit small than a one pence piece I saw that from a distance and the wheels where the nuts wasn’t scratched they were smudged from when you fitted the wheels back on to the car I say rushed job not had time to dry properly and this wasn’t reported to you on the day I actually rang you up about the wheels being damaged by the wheel nuts and you saw it the same day.
I didn’t threaten you with my husband , I said if you like I will bring him down to you to verify that damage to the wheel wasn’t done by us and you said not to bother so get your facts right.
We hadn’t even checked the torque on the wheel nuts at this point. Why would I spend all that money out for my alloys to be refurbished then damage them my self.My opinion is the person that put the wheels back on to the car knew they caught the paint and hiding the fact they damaged them.
And I didn’t threaten you about the review i said I’m yet to leave a review which won’t be good.
And how I was spoken to wasn’t very nice you simply need people skills and a eye test for damage caused in stead of accusing customers.
When I returned the car back to you on the third occasion it wasn’t a chip if you open your eyes properly it was a defect in the powder coating which was a biggish area, you Obviously did not (or didn't )care to look properly .
Shabby work a blind man would have done a better job. Call your self professional that’s a joke. If I known that it was going to be that shit of a job I would of gone else where.
If any body reads this I would go else where as there are better professional people that can do the job right the first time not a bodger that will leave you with defects

Hello Sarah, To get our side of this over to people, Your vehicle was booked in for 4 wheels to be refurbished, on collection you mentioned you were not happy with 1 of the wheels as you found a tiny dust nib. On collection the owner of the business tried to sort this (even though it's was barely noticeable) we said we would redo the 1 wheel for you again. All of the other wheels at this point were absolutely fine.
When you then dropped the vehicle back to us a week later you mentioned about the other 3 wheels, these were now damaged (so not by us) all around the bolt holes and on the edges. For the inconvenience we tidied thrm up only as a good will gesture for you having to come back to us to have the 1 wheel done again. Also, to mention, as it was a week later and as per the instructions given and on your invoice you were to check the wheel nuts after a specified distance.
On collection of the wheels being redone a member of Staff asked you if you had taken a look at the wheels and if everything was ok, You replied saying that yes you were happy and they were much better.
You then returned yesterday to complain about a a small chip in 1 wheel which we had only tidied up for you. When we were reiterating that we only tidied them up you threatened the owner of the business telling him you were going to send your husband down here to, after that you then started a barrage of abusive language at which point we refused to deal with you further and you threatened to leave this review.

Quality work changing and not for the better

I’ve been loyal customer of ace car care for over 15 years and unfortunately they have let their standards slip, recently used them to repair a rear bumper and while I was waiting to pick my car up customer was returning his car as the spraying job that had done was poor. And close inspection of my bumper The spray job was not of a good standard. There was even overspray on the rear reflectors. There was lots of pit marks and spots. One thing I would say is that they were phenomenally busy with people queueing up to get their cars in I can only assume that they are rushing the jobs. I have not been back to see them to get this job rectified because my car was being sold on motorway and it’s now gone thank God they didn’t see their shabby work that they had done on my bumper, over the years. I’ve used them for remapping window tinting dent and paint work but after being mucked about with them regarding last booking being told the jobs five minutes and then it’s actually three hours and then they had the car for an hour in the end. I will not be using them again, which is sad because I like to support local businesses. If you use them for any paint corrections etc check their work !!.

ACE REMAPS Shrewsbury

ACE REMAPS, SHREWSBURY. Very friendly staff and good customer care. However, an engine and gearbox remap was very disappointing. Vehicle - Skoda Superb 272bhp 4x4 TFSI. States increase to 350 bhp. + 100nm torque. Torque did improve, but a rolling road test produced 298-301bhp....plus poor fuel consumption. Was getting 30-36mpg....driving very carefully with very light throttle was getting 28-30mph.....hard driving...21mpg. Be careful using them and get vehicle tested afterwards if you feel the remap us under performing. Use their 30 day refund policy if not satisfied..which they honoured. Cost me £120 to get remap diagnosed, but worth it to get true figures...although I shouldn't have had to if the remap had been of a good quality. DISAPPOINTING...perhaps look elsewhere for remapping....they're certainly NOT the best.

Added....6/12/24.....I have a print out at home.....4 power runs were completed which produced a bhp and torque chart.....max bhp...301.

No rolling road test done before remap....no need. Stock power from new around 272bhp....even with age and mileage, even if dropped to 250bhp, which is unlikely, the remap advertised gain of around 78bhp (350bhp) should have taken car to at least 320 minimum...worst case. If your advertised gain of around 78bhp had been achieved then before the remap, my 272 bhp car would have dropped to 220 ish bhp.....no way!

I note your comment about you investigating...it's a pity you didnt offer to do this when I rang and explained that I wanted the remap removed. You did ask why...I explained it was due to the lower power output (300bhp)....there was no offer to investigate or to assess the issue yourselves. Before I had the remap, I asked if you did it on a rolling road etc...you stated you did not need to and it would be a developed remap for my exact model which would not need a rolling road evaluation. I went with your advice. Perhaps it may be best to do your maps via a rolling road to provide customers with a full Before and After report that will also definitively prove claimed bhp outputs. Just a thought.

Hi Andy Can we just ask as you took the time to get a rolling road done after our remap have you got a print out for before to show what the stock power was?

Hi Andy i am asking if you have a dyno run before the remap to show the stock power.

If you had spoken to us with your thoughts and findings we would have done before and after datalog runs and on road dyno runs free of charge to show the figures for you. Unfortunately you did not give us this opportunity and also did not get a dyno run before the remap so we cannot be sure what the stock power was. The changes in the file on your skoda have been developed over a time period of 6 months utilizing our datalogging and dyno tool so we are confident in the file and would have been more than happy to look i to this given the opportunity rather than you posting a review like this and spending money on an After run.

A rolling road is not needed for standard vehicles and as above if needed we have datalogging tools and on the road dyno tools if needed to use to do checks when things like this occur and then we get the answers needed rather than going down this route

Quality staff and quality workmanship!

My Renault Captur was damaged in a car park by an unknown owner and needed a lot of cosmetic help: on the front, side, and back of the vehicle. The damage was estimated and a quote given. All the staff were most helpful, professional, and extremely efficient. Two days later my damaged car looked as good as new. I could hardly believe my eyes!

I would happily use AceCarCare again for a similar repair and I am happy to recommend them for bodywork repairs.

Check the small print before paying deposit

This review is based on customer service not product based as I never actually got to have my Remap by:

Ace Remaps Worcester/Ace Car Care LTD.

Isn’t based in Worcester as the web site implies, I only found this out after trying to cancel due to unforeseen circumstances, my vehicle was broken down at the time of appointment in fact on a transporter.

The engineer was informed at 8am the earliest possible time to explain as my booking was after 11am he didn’t have an issue.

I tried to rebook an appointment when my car was back on the road, however not to my convenience as I found out the business is In Shrewsbury miles away and I would have to leave my car for over 3hrs. So requested my £60 deposit fee back.

To which I was told no it’s against their term’s & conditions, which I hadn’t noticed because they are not listed on their Worcestershire site & Worcester phone number that doesn’t exist which the Manager actually apologised the number was wrong, terms didn’t come with quote either. The terms only appear after you have paid your deposit with confirmation booking. Some what after the event not agreed prior.

I provided evidence of genuine breakdown and no empathy was given as their terms & conditions do state if genuine.

I personally should have looked into the operation properly, my mistake Lee from the company will add a reply to this all about his terms and conditions etc and that they lost money ? don’t know how when the engineer is self employed and didn’t even have to make the appointment.

Bad experience lesson to be learnt, all that listed on web sites is not all as it seams with no quibble comments and money back guarantees etc.

I feel ripped off by Ace Remaps who are part of a bigger Group called Ace Car Care LTD - JJM Body Repair LTD I would have expected better with all of their 5 star reviews.
