Great experience.

Great experience from start to finish. Friendly and knowledgeable staff. Everything explained at 2 home visits and ordering the correct bath for my needs.
Adrian Johnson the plumber was friendly and professional. Did a great job fitting my walk in bath. Very neat and tidy work cleared up after himself and left my house in excellent condition.
I would recommend this company to anyone looking for a reliable service.

Accessible shower!

When I moved into my current home, I wasn't too happy about having to climb into and out of the bath to shower, and decided to have the bath taken out. Various companies will do this; the one I eventually chose was Accessibility Bathrooms, based in the North East and happy to go anywhere in the country. My first appointment was to discuss and choose what I would like to have. Steve turned up with boxes of samples and was happy to discuss thoroughly and in detail what would be involved; I was very happy, once the cost had been worked out, to receive a discount as a pensioner! There was no pressure at all to accept the quotation; the decision to go ahead or not was mine to make, in my own time. If I chose to accept, I was to do so by phone, and pay half the quoted amount as deposit. After acceptance came a technical visit - a quick overview of plumbing, boiler and so forth.
At this point the job was expanded - I'd been focused on the replacement of the bath with shower and panels, but Ian suggested that I have the whole room panelled (it's not a huge room) - minimal decoration thereafter - and updated the quotation.
I was notified when the panels and shower would be delivered, and when my fitter would arrive to start the job. Jamie was a hero - it took 5 days to install everything, in hot weather, hauling the fittings up very narrow stairs. He was a very polite and comfortable person to have in the house, and I am very happy indeed with the bathroom he built for me.

I can unereservedly recommend this company. They rang frequently to update or confirm, and were happy for me to call with any questions I might have. This is a rather long and detailed account, perhaps, but I wanted anyone who's considering employing Accessibility Bathrooms to know what will happen, how things work. That you will always know what is going to happen, and when. That they are always ready to take your call, and to help. Thanks, guys.

First class job from start to finish

First class job from start to finish. My Mum and Dad are thrilled to bits with it.
Good communication though out the process from start to finish.
Special mention to Adrian the installer.
What a pleasant man and a punctual and good hard worker.
Left the worksite clean and tidy every night.
Kept us informed of what he was doing and nothing was too much trouble.
Shame there aren’t a few more like him.

Good Company to deal with.

We had a few issues mainly due to the pandemic but at all times we were kept informed and they did not try and shy away from there commitment to complete the job expeditiously that said they did have a £3000 deposit in hand. The plumber,Adrian, was not fazed by any setbacks even though he was a day later than expected getting home and it was a nice surprise when Steve came up to inspect the work and he presented us with a pack of towels.I would have no hesitation in recommending this company.

If you want to waste your money then…

If you want to waste your money then call this company.1st install was a complete waste of money, the installer had so many excuses for his shoddy work and his time spent on the project.I have had a successful building business for 50 years and would never show my clients such disregard for the job that I was contracted to carry out.Even flagging up issues as he progressed we gave up and just let him continue to get him out of our house. It is only because of age and bad health that we called a so called professional company in.The installer came from Chester ,he turned up at 12 30 the first day ,he had to go home overnight because of a bereavement (his dog died) didn’t turn up the next day.turned up @12 on the Wednesday 10 am Thursday worked till 5 pm informed me that would be there for 9am Friday and would work on Saturday to finish, needless to say he didn’t turn up .What has to be flagged up is my wife is disabled so she had to manage without her toilet facilities for 9 days in total ,the works were programmed in for 4days.It took 6 weeks to get some one back and strip out the complete installation and reinstall ( I must admit that Adrian who installed the second fix was superb)however we are still waiting for the rubbish to be cleared after 6 days of finishing.I am sure that a reply will follow with even more excuses but I have photographic evidence to disprove any arguments.

Should any issues arise, rest assured that we always leave our customers with useable toilet facilities. However, we are sorry to hear that our service was not up to the usual high standard, cosmetically, that we and our customers expect due to personal circumstances with the first installer. We are however now delighted to hear that you are very pleased with Adrian and the finished bathroom. Please note that the waste collection was already booked in for today (we do advise all waste will be removed within 7 days). Please do continue to enjoy your lovely new bathroom.

DO NOT GIVE THESE PEOPLE YOUR MONEY

This company claims to be small and caring but they are far from that. My mother paid over £10,000 for what I would describe as a £100 bathroom. They sub contracted the job out, and the fitter rushed to complete the job a day early so that he could enjoy a relaxing night in his hotel and a relaxing Friday drive home. In his haste he didn’t screw the toilet to the floor, didn’t fit the wall boards together very well so most have now separated, including in the shower which causes water to get behind the wall and God knows where else, didn’t ask how high my mother wanted the shower seat so she can’t even use it, fitted a towel radiator so close to the toilet that you cannot sit on the toilet facing forwards or if you try you burn your leg. All of these issues were reported in Summer 2021. It’s now March 2022 and they have made no attempt to put them right, ignore emails, apart from the initial email where they respond with the typical “your custom is very important to us, we will endeavour to solve the issue asap” blah blah blah, then they go quiet in the hope that you will simply give up and disappear. My mother is in her late 70’s, has very limited mobility, lives alone, and I live 5000 miles away so am limited in my ability to help her. But I am trying to resolve this issue for her but without any joy. I beg you, DO NOT use this company, any bathroom fitter can fit these products, you don’t need these so called specialists. If you ignore this advice, pay them by credit card so you have some protection when what I warned you about happens.

In reply to response:
Yes you did FINALLY attend the property to put things right, BUT only after the credit card company threatened you with financial sanctions, not because you were willing. Basically if my mother had not paid by credit card she’d still have the issues because you were ignoring all correspondence. The bathroom is now complete, but it was a shoddy job, backed up by the guy who put things right who agreed that it was shoddy. The wall boards have had to be cut and placed together again where they shouldn’t be as they were so badly installed in the first instance. You charged over £10k for what I can only describe as a £3k bathroom. It’s a tiny room, and for £10k she should have a high end bathroom but all she has is an ok, functional bathroom, after a 7 month wait and a fight. I stand by my review, and my mother is openly honest that she should never have written you a glowing review, but she’s a nice person.

Thank you for providing more information. I'm pleased to confirm that we have since spoken to your Mum (our customer) and have since attended and replaced the radiator with a smaller one, as she requested. We would also like to thank her for the lovely thank you note that we received at the visit. Now have a lovely modern looking wet room

After deciding to change our bathroom with bath and electric seat to an accessible wet room, so pleased from first visit from Lucy with samples of wall panels and colours for flooring, then the measurements carried out by Steve the resulting wet room is excellent. Adrian the plumber arrived on time every morning, have to say he loves his mugs of tea. Week or so after work was completed Steve came out to assess the work was to the correct standard, wish I could put photos on.

Avoid, and Shop Around!

The phrase “Couldn't organise a pi** up in a brewery!” has never been more applicable than when applying it to this company, as soon as the planning and surveying phase was completed this is where their customer service and communication started to unravel.
I was assured from the outset by both the planner and the surveyor that the sooner I agreed on the interior colours and materials, the sooner they could start work on fitting a disabled shower and toilet for my terminally ill Mother, so she could come out of hospital to a home which was now more suited to her needs.
With a projected date given that work would start first week of September, and the task taking 4 days (Thurs-Sunday) as allotted on the job sheet, as soon as I had paid a sizable deposit to secure this timeline, all follow-up and communications went quiet and didn't hear anything!?
Late September I eventually had to chase them up to find out what was going on, and was told that work would now start first week of October! This was the first that I knew about anything on this new date and was now feeling my trust I had put in this company falter!?
The fitters/builders didn't arrive on the first day (Thursday) until nearly noon, but immediately cracked on with the job in hand, the Friday they didn't turn up until 10:40
On the Friday my concerns grew when many of materials turned up, but the Flooring materials did not halting the install of the toilet and basin, I called the so-called ‘project manager’ Martin who assured me that the delivery was indeed scheduled for that Friday and the Flooring would be put in in that day …….. what would actually happen is the Flooring material not turning up until Monday with the fitters not returning until Tuesday, this project was supposed to be completed by the Sunday as agreed in the initial paperwork saying 4 days, I have now had to take another 2 days off work to wait for the Flooring delivery and now wait for the fitter to return on the Tuesday to complete the job.
To say that this was utter shambolic and to give them even 1 star review would be generous, clowns and disappointment from start to finish.
Then to compound it all they had asked for the balance payment to be paid on the first day of work, when I said that this raised a few concerns with myself as this would leave me no recourse if there are any issues as they haven't even started work yet, again the project manager Martin, States that paying on commencement of work is industry standard! Since when!?! And something I had agreed to in signing a contract.
According to another Accessibility Employee I had spoken to previously called Darren, who claimed in previous calls, to have the copy of the signed contract in front of him, this was, something I find very hard to believe, but now I was being held to ransom because if I did not pay, they would not start work.
The contract that he mentioned and he kept referring to that I had apparently signed, I personally did not have a copy of yet, when asked several times to produce a copy for my own records, all of a sudden this original contract had in actual fact been lost in the post! How convenient and very suspicious, how then did he claim to be looking at a signed copy!?
I supplied a basin and toilet of my own choosing, mainly because there was nothing that Accessibility Bathrooms could supply that I liked, on the agreement from both the planner AND the surveyor that they would install them under the agreement and price of the quoted complete install, unfortunately (no fault of mine or Accessibility Bathrooms) the basin was delivered cracked, and I am now waiting for a replacement, but now Martin at Accessibility Bathrooms is saying he now wants to charge us for the fitter to return, this is especially infuriating when the job wasn’t completed in the first instance and I am without a basin for 3 weeks, and it ran 2 days over the original agreed install timeline, for something that was already agreed on to be done, but not completed by the fitter! They are truly a company that will try to bleed you for everything they can get, but fall short on what they deliver.
I also suspect their costs to be over inflated, owing in part, at least, to the flagrant disregard and wanton disposal of new, un-used building materials found in the waste left waiting to be picked up by the contracted clearance team. Such items include full sections of edging/decorative trim, and brand new plumbing/water pipe section, and shower accessories.
A comedy of errors, and a very stressful and worrying time as I try to care for, and watch my mum waste away from cancer, Accessibility Bathrooms only added to it, Project Managers not communicating with customers, informing of delays in start times, delays in materials deliveries, I suspect this is a company that works under the thin veneer of professionalism

Dear Anon Client, we are very saddened to discover that you felt the need to leave such a negative review based solely on the fact that the basin you supplied yourself (against our recommendation) was damaged when it came around to carrying out the installation. We made clear at the point of ordering that if any products you chose to supply yourself were damaged or not fit for purpose, then we would not be able to fit them or additional costs could be incurred for any further visits after the installation for this. We even offered to fit one of our own basins at the point of discovering yours was damaged when opening, as a gesture of goodwill, but this was declined by yourself. For clarity, the bathroom itself was fitted on time, as planned and finished to an exceptional standard judging by the inspection photos. As already discussed with you, we would be happy to come out again to fit your own basin for you, but as is separate to the work we have already completed for you, it would be a chargeable visit. But please dont hesitate to contact us again, should be able to assist you with anything in the future.

Walk in shower and bathroom furniture…

Walk in shower and bathroom furniture (sink, radiator) fitted in July. Generally very happy with the work carried out.
However, several issues remain which require fixing. Steve visited at the end of July and took several photos of the areas that would require remedial work.
8 weeks later we are still waiting.
As usual no communication from yourselves. I have had to chase you up (same issue during the fitting ) again.
Unable to give me any idea when anyone will come back to complete this outstanding work.
Very unsatisfactory.
