I’ve been with Academy insurance, Egham branch for decades. I assume there has been a takeover by another firm. This firm doesn’t answer the phone. And is not the same level of service that I used to receive, What a shame, we have a number of policies with Academy, and I guess we will need to look elsewhere. The recent reviews seem troubling too. Edited to add: I have now been asked by trust pilot to share further personal information to verify this experience by the company. This is not something I am comfortable doing. I have emailed a complaint to the company themselves. I would hope that this is something they can deal with internally and professionally. I’ve cancelled my policy with them. And am in the process of cancelling the other policies also, the problem is simple, there is no-one answering the phones. Please see other reviews.

Poor experience from Academy insurance regarding the non fault claim they keep asking me to contact underwriter and underwriter delaying the repairs, definitely will not recommend to anyone. Too much stress and hassle claiming, its been a month cars not repaired, they are not ready to take any responsibility or giving extensionfor courtesy car, been on the phone for one and half our with zero result.

My 5 star review is attributed to Carla - her first class interpersonal skills, her kind and understanding demeanour as well as her knowledge and efficiency, following through any concerns in the promised timescale. So important to customers of a certain age!

Great company, done my driving instructor policy through them for my 3rd year and they’ve been great. Joe W from the driving instructor team is very good, very polite and knowledgeable, makes my life less stressful regarding any insurance policies and makes it so much easy. This company is great and Joe is a great ambassador. Highly recommend this company over any other brokers.

Please answer the phone. Trying to renew my car insurance but no answer. There's no prompt to tell you how long you might have to wait and no option to pay online. I've been an academy customer for a very long time but this is the second time in the last few months this has happened. Their teams are great when you can actually get to speak to someone. Disappointing

I have been with academy insurance since 2021.
I have always had first class experience with them .Harvinder was Very helpful professional and kind.

1. The price was better than last year which was pleasing.
2. Although my daughter had been a named driver on the policy previously, her name was spelled wrongly (Tasmin, instead of Tamsin). This required extra telephone calls.
3. The date on the Certificate of Motor Insurance was incorrect ( Expiry on 02.05.25 at 23.58 and beginning at 02.05.25. at 23.59) giving me one minute of cover for over £1000! When I phoned on Tuesday 06.05.25. the agent told me that in the event of having to prove to the Police, that I was insured, the Police could have checked with Academy HOW? Academy were closed Sat, Sun, and Bank Holiday Monday.

I went to Newbury to renew my car insurance but the office was closed. I rang Academy and renewed my insurance over the phone

These people are ripoff merchants. Used to be good but have gone downhill. Send in debt collectors for policy I do not have

Good communication and advice.

I called to arrange cover for a changeover vehicle to be told that they are no longer able to provide cover for vehicles of this nature. No suggestion of looking for another insurer! Thankfully contacted another insurer who is charging less than half for same product. When I asked Academy why this was, they put me on hold for 20 minutes, rather than deal with question. Finally spoke to a manager who was equally unhelpful. Avoid at all cost, over priced and unhelpful staff and will be raising a complaint with Ombudsman
