Comenity bank is one of the worst banks…

Comenity bank is one of the worst banks ever. These idiots change the criteria for password without telling you they did that and now you can't login. You morons should let people know these things. Now I changed the password and still can't login.

Commenity bank isn't fair to first time…

Comenity bank isn't fair to first time late payers. I had two deaths in my family two days apart and overlooked my payment. Mind you I always pay early but my heart was broken causing me to forget. It was a one time mistake.
I paid my account in full and asked for the fee to be waived since it's literally the only time in years that has happened. I was not eligible.
So I'll pay the $30 and I'll close the account. Evidently money is more important than long time good paying customers.
Also their customer service sucked on another account with Comenity.
Literally no help at all to resolve an issue that should have been so simple to handle.

STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PREDATORY CARD!!!

I paid off IN FULL and CLOSED my account with Comenity Bank on March 20th (Salon Centric Credit Card to be exact) and received a new bill for an additional $45 today 4/23 for late fees as well as additional fees applied to my closed account. I do not understand how I have late fees on an account I closed over a full billing cycle before getting said fees. I even have the paperwork FROM COMINITY dated 3/20 that states 'Congratulations your account is paid in full' dated the day I closed the account. When I called to remedy the situation I was hung up on numerous times. I was threatened with being sent to collections by numerous very dismissive representatives if I did not pay. I finally had to end up paying these additional BS fees just to keep them from damaging my credit. STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PREDATORY CARD!!!!

Comenity bank is the worst bank I've…

Comenity bank is the worst bank I've ever experienced. They will pretend to take your payment and then never update you that they don't accept that Bank (which everyone else accepts this Bank) and then when you go to make your payment 30 days later they will notify you that you now have a 30-day late and they have reported it to your credit. They have the worst customer service experience and take zero responsibility for anything they've done wrong. Anytime I would try to make a payment on my credit card they would pretend that everything was fine just to not process the amount later so that they can steal $41 from you for a "payment return fee." this company is an absolute scam and I wish I had never open an account with them. Do yourself a favor and stay far far away or close your account now before they ruin your credit.

I wish I can review with (-)

This is by far the worst bank I have ever dealt with in my life. Comenity Bank operates in a way that feels completely predatory—they seem to hunt for any small mistake or unclear process just to hit you with extra fees. It honestly feels like they’re setting customers up to fail.
Their customer service is unbelievably bad. Every interaction is frustrating, unhelpful, and leaves you feeling like they simply don’t care. Compared to any other financial institution I’ve used, this has been a complete nightmare. There’s no transparency, no accountability, and absolutely no effort to resolve issues fairly.
I’ve reached a point where I refuse to deal with them any longer. I’ve closed all my accounts associated with them, including Sephora, Value City Furniture, and The RoomPlace, just to avoid ever dealing with this bank again.
If you’re considering opening an account with them—don’t. Save yourself the stress, the money, and the headache. Stay far away from this company.

Fees and harassment

Charged me fees on top of more fees AFTER I paid my account balance to 0, then proceeded to harass me multiple times a day until I paid their garbage fees

I applied online for a Comenity bank…

I applied online for a Comenity bank AAA card. The social security # that they received from the application was either inaccurately entered by me or list in the application process. My application was rejected and a hard inquiry was posted to my credit with no accurate social security number. I contacted community bank and found this out and asked what we could do to get it corrected. Not only did they tell me there was nothing, they could do to move forward. And approve my application, but they could not remove the hard inquiry off my credit even though they sent me a letter saying they could not verify my identity. I ended up being hung up on three times up on being forwarded to a supervisor from Comenity bank. It appears as though i'm going to be stuck with the hard inquiry on my credit and I will never do business with Comenity bank.

Terrible customer service

Terrible customer service. I paid my bills on time for over a decade but was late just 2 days with a balance of only $100 and they charged me a $30 late fee. When i called them they said they would remove it since i was a good customer always paying on time. Then the next month they put it back on my bill and when i called them they said it could not be removed. I will never do business with them again because i do not do business with liars. You also have to watch your bill close as they will stick charges on it that do not belong. Beware. They are a very bad banking business.

Terrible customer service &…

Terrible customer service & professionalism. Punish you via suspension if you make a payment early & more than the minimum due. I didn't have a payment due until May but decided to pay early & above the minimum payment amount. For several days, my ACH payment wouldn't come out after trying several times to process a debit card payment online. So I called the IVR & authorized an ACH payment. I waited several days & the funds did not come out so I called the customer service line & made a debit payment through them & was assured the ACH payment would be cancelled & I wouldn't be charged twice. Thinking everything was fine as the debit card payment went through, I didn't add additional funds to that account. The ACH payment was not cancelled & didn't go through as I don't transfer funds to that account unless I have an upcoming bill. I called the customer service line & escalated all the way to the top tier of customer service named Kathy who assured me that she had no supervisor. Since I decided to be proactive & pay early, I was punished & now have to make three months of consecutive payments before my account will be unsuspended despite my first payment not even being due until May & I paid double the minimum payment of my own accord after numerous attempts to make the payment in three different ways. They have no way to lift the suspension despite receiving payment. Beware their policy on new accounts & returned payments even if they received a payment.

I paid off the balance on my card then…

I paid off the balance on my card then they charged me an additional $9 internet after payoff. Then charged me late fees and reported bad credit to me. And I was never contacted by them. Worst bank ever. Do not get an account. I closed mine now and never again.

Shylock... Flee while you can

I had a very frustrating experience with Comenity Capital Bank regarding a credit card account they managed for The Children’s Place. I decided to close my card due to what I felt were excessively high interest charges. Before closing the account, I made sure the balance was fully paid off and brought down to zero.
Despite this, I continued to see interest charges added to the account after it was supposedly closed. This made no sense, as there was no remaining balance to accrue interest on. I contacted customer service to resolve the issue, explaining clearly that the account had been paid in full prior to closure and asking them to correct the charges.
Unfortunately, the response I received was dismissive and unhelpful. They refused to adjust or remove the charges and did not provide a reasonable explanation. Instead of resolving what appears to be an error on their end, they allowed the balance to persist and ultimately sent the account to collections.
This experience has been extremely disappointing. A situation that should have been straightforward (closing a paid-off account), turned into an ongoing issue that negatively impacted me. Based on this experience, I would strongly caution others to closely monitor their accounts with Comenity Capital Bank and be prepared for potential difficulties when trying to resolve billing disputes. If it says Comenity Capital Bank... Flee while you can.

Comenity Bank ELDER ABUSE Fraud

I will have to resolve this matter in court, which is truly unfortunate.

This account was opened without my authorization. I became aware of this third account in April 2025 (see attached email). When I received a call from Comenity Bank, I believed I was making a payment toward either my Roaman’s or Woman Within account.

Once I discovered the issue, I made efforts to resolve it. I attempted to work with Comenity Bank after learning that they had reported the account as late seven times to the credit bureaus. I even offered to pay for the merchandise I received, under the assumption that it had been charged to one of my existing accounts.

However, it appears that instead of resolving the issue, their actions have significantly damaged my credit. This has caused serious consequences, including being denied a mortgage loan. I have no delinquent accounts other than this one, and I have consistently paid my other two accounts with Comenity Bank on time for years.

Their handling of this matter has been harmful and unfair, and I believe it constitutes misconduct and exploitation of customers.

Consumers should be aware that having multiple accounts with Comenity Bank may lead to confusion and potential issues, as I experienced being led into opening multiple accounts unintentionally.

This situation has resulted in substantial harm to my credit over a relatively small amount. I already make regular monthly payments on my other accounts, yet this matter has negatively impacted my financial standing.

I consider this to be fraud and, given the circumstances, potentially elder abuse. I intend to report this matter to the appropriate authorities, including the Department of Aging.

RE: Notice of Lawsuit and Opportunity to Settle – Fraudulent Account Reporting

To Whom It May Concern:

I am writing to formally notify you that I have filed a lawsuit against Comenity Bank and FullBeauty Brands, Inc. in the Circuit Court of Cook County, Illinois regarding the reporting of a fraudulent account on my credit file.

Opportunity to Resolve

I am willing to resolve this matter without further litigation under the following terms:

Immediate deletion of the fraudulent account from all credit reporting agencies
Written confirmation of deletion
Payment of $10,000 in damages

If I do not receive a satisfactory response, I will proceed with litigation and seek full damages available under federal law, including statutory damages, costs, and any additional relief permitted.

Comenity bank charged me a stop check…

Comenity bank charged me a stop check fee on something I paid via a phone call. I canceled the check because I paid it through their customer service person. I told them I was canceling the check so I would not be paying TWICE, since I paid already. They insisted that because I canceled the check, which came after I had already PAID, I would still be charged a $33.00 cancel check fee. My bank gave me back the money Comenity took, because my bank questioned the suspicious action this bank exercised.
Comenity's customer service department has no authorority whatsover, to resolve fraudulent practices. Every person from bottom to top insisted they could not remove the charge, even though the bill was paid! My bank had issues with the payment being delayed and is why they paid for Comenity's unfair, deceptive behavior. Please research the penalities (see below) this bank has already incurred. Ulta needs to get rid of this card.
"Comenity Bank has faced regulatory action and complaints regarding unfair and deceptive practices, including a 2015 FDIC settlement for $64 million related to credit card add-on products and a 2024 citation for deceptive Reward/AutoPay practices. Customers often report abrupt account closures, unauthorized hard credit inquiries, and insecure requests for sensitive personal information."

This bank appears to be unfairly…

This bank appears to be unfairly charging customers.

My wife opened a credit card through Sephora and made a purchase of about $65. We never received any billing statement. Later, the bank added a $40 late fee.

I contacted customer service, and they agreed to waive $25 of the fee. I then paid the original balance plus the remaining $25 late fee. This issue occurred in November, and we believed it was resolved.

However, in March, we received another call from customer service demanding around $200. They claimed that the original payment was one day late and continued adding additional late fees.

Now, the customer service representatives are threatening legal action, which feels unreasonable given the situation. We made a good-faith effort to resolve the issue and paid what we were told was owed.

This situation feels unfair and needs to be reviewed.

Comenity Credit cards

This company is the worst! I have two children’s store cards from them.I have never had a late payment. Numerous times with both cards they call me and tell me that I didn’t make my payment. They hit me with a $30 late fee. I resolve the matter, told that they will refund the late charge. They will only refund $15 of the $30! Yesterday I checked my statement because it seemed like my balance was high, sure enough there was a $30 late fee. I called three different times, was told different things and finally said they rock refund me. Well, it’s a day later and it still isn’t showing. The customer service reps are rude and disrespectful!

DO NOT open a credit card with this…

DO NOT open a credit card with this bank. I went to Ulta and got 20% off my purchase. If I opened a credit card with this company paid my bill the day arrived. However, the company waited until the day after the bill was due to deposit my check and then attempted to charge me a $33.50 late fee. I disputed and they took it down to six dollars because I threatened to chop up my credit card which I did anyway I am discovering this is a huge issue with many people – – the late fee on a zero balance credit card card. BEWARE

I had a terrible experience with…

I had a terrible experience with Comenity Bank, and I would not recommend them to anyone. Their practices feel completely misleading and borderline fraudulent.

I noticed unauthorized charges on my account, and when I contacted customer service, they were unhelpful and dismissive. Instead of resolving the issue, they kept transferring me between departments with no clear answers. It felt like they were intentionally avoiding taking responsibility. I setup a payment plan with them and the customer service lady told me my account will be cleared on March 2025. After 6 months I received a bill that I owed $199. I called them and they told me it’s a late fee because my remaining balance was $2.49 and I didn’t pay. March 10th I paid my statement balance in full and now today I checked my account it is showing late fee of $42. They are big fraud and keep charging you.

Their billing system is confusing, and fees seem to appear out of nowhere. Even after making payments on time, I was hit with unexpected charges that were never properly explained.

What’s most frustrating is the lack of transparency and accountability. A bank should provide security and trust, but my experience with Comenity has been the opposite. I strongly advise others to think twice before opening an account with them.
