Been here for all my Gas courses over the last 6years, always good in depth courses with great tutors. Ian taught me initially and its great to see he is still there, always lending a helpful word... See more

Course content was good, teacher/assessor was very knowledgeable. Equipment was of a good quality although a little worn but understandable given its use.
Would definitely recommend
I've had a good experience with Ableskills as a course provider for NVQ3 in Electrical installation. Shout out to George my assessor who has been particularly helpful and quick to respond. I would recommend them to anyone looking to complete their electrical qualifications.
Had Steve for my L3 for weeks 2/3 was very helpful and got me through the course very in depth
it was well planed out to get all the information across that was needed
Completed the introduction to painting and decorating week. Excellent facilities and very clear instruction form our teacher. Surprised how much was covered. Seriously considering the City and Guilds course next.
Lots of practical hands on learning with really experienced tutors.great fun and lots learnt.
Could do with a refresh in the bays. All looking a bit tired now.
No where to sit when on a tea break or lunch break. Could do with a classroom or somewhere to actually take notes and receive theoretical training. That aspect was lacking.
No tea and coffee facilities which is really missed, especially as the units are open to the elements.
Great training , great laughs, Neil and Joe do a good job
I arrived Monday not being able to plaster a wall. I have left Friday confident I can plaster walls and ceilings
Great Instructer’s, was lucky to have a great bunch as well, learned loads couldn’t have hoped for better
At Able Skills, there is a hands-on approach to work. No faffing about, basically it's like gaining work experience.
I have been doing numerous courses with other companies with 4+ reviews and have consistently been disappointed. I do read reviews but I hardly write any. However Able skills have surprised me positively. I cannot comment on other courses but I just did the 2391, and Trevor (the traner), with his somewhat "different" character consistently delivered superbly in my view. His way of controlling the classroom, delivering and emphasising the important points, as well as the time keeping was to be admired. I can go on and on about how but the question you should ask is 'whould I recommend this to my best mates or would I do another course with Able Skills?' And the answer is a resounding YES to both. Why am I giving 4 and not 5 starts? I think 5 stars would not exist.
This week I finally passed my ACS, a year ago this was all but a dream but with the absolute amazing help from the staff in the office and the great teachers the dreaded idea of going back to college was all but an amazing experience and I really couldn’t fault anything, the experience the tutors have is outstanding and the way of teaching and explaining everything was perfect, everyone in the office made you feel at home from day one, always happy to help and explain what direction I needed to proceed in, just 10 out of 10.
Having done my Gas managed learning program, gas portfolio, G3 unvented cylinders, Water regs and my ACS
All I can say is a massive thankyou to all the staff and for anyone considering any training in a trade,
USE ABLE SKILLS you won’t regret it
Loved this course! Really hands on with expert tuition from Simon. HIghly recommended.
I’ve completed a few courses with Able skills over the years. I’ve just finished my NVQ Level 2 and everyone from the tutors to the staff have been amazing.
Massive thank you to Roy, Mathew and all the office staff for their help!

I’m a 33 year old lady and was so worried about starting something new and being with men all week
It was so good I intend to do another course when I’ve mastered plastering
I already have work lined up
The trading was thorough and covered all aspects offering advice and detailed info
There are women on these courses but I was with men that week
They were brilliant and I learnt from them too
I loved it thank you

Can not ask for more from a training center. Every tutor is fantastic, helpful, go above and beyond. The learning is made easier because of the tutors, even having a laugh along the way. I was nervous before beginning the course but now half way through have no worries, due to how Able Skills is run and how great the tutors are. So so pleased I picked Able Skills for the Plumbing and Gas courses.
