I wanted to give my wife something meaningful for our anniversary, but I didn’t want to buy another generic gift. I reached out to Able6 Art Studio with an idea that was very personal to us: creating a piece of artwork based on the building where we first met.
I sent over a few photos and explained the story behind the place. What came back was more than I expected. The artwork captured the building, but it also somehow captured the feeling of that time in our lives. When my wife opened it, she immediately knew what it was and just stood there smiling. It brought back a flood of memories, and that made the piece incredibly special to both of us.
After that experience, I commissioned a second piece, this time of my alma mater. I had it produced as a framed canvas print for my office. It has become one of those things people regularly ask me about when they walk in. It feels personal without looking like a typical school souvenir, and the framing and finished piece look excellent.
What I appreciated most about working with Able6 was that the process felt genuinely personal. There was an effort to understand why these places mattered to me rather than simply reproducing a photograph.
I now have two pieces that represent completely different chapters of my life: where my wife and I began our story together, and the place that helped shape my career. Both mean far more to me than something I could have simply purchased off a shelf.
