Embossed credit card needed, not printed.

I turned up to collect car, was surprised with a nice ,clean and new car but unfortunately they said I could not have it.
Reason- my credit card did not have the numbers and details embossed on card, ridiculous.
Offered me option to pay treble the original car hire cost in cash and I could drive the car away-felt like I was been scammed.
Told them where to go.
They said they did not have a system to check credit cards and implied mine may be fake . After they have my passport and driving licence details, unbelievable.
My whole day got wasted trying to secure another car.
Avoid Abby car rentals ,marrakesh.

I had a horrible experience renting a…

I had a horrible experience renting a car from Abby Car Montenegro. From the very beginning, the vehicle was in bad condition — I noticed and luckily took pictures of the car when I picked it up. During the entire journey, the car showed engine and tyre warnings on the dashboard, making it very stressful and dangerous to drive, especially in a foreign country.

When I called their support team, they casually told me, “You can drive like that, no worries.” This is completely irresponsible and unsafe.

Upon returning the car, they tried to charge me €300 for scratches that I absolutely did not cause. It felt like a scam targeting tourists — they didn’t even inspect the vehicle properly in front of me. Despite having already paid a deposit and having insurance, they still demanded my credit card again to take more money. It was very clear they were just trying to squeeze as much money as possible from me.

This company is dishonest, unsafe, and exploitative. They take advantage of foreign renters with fake damage claims and pressure tactics.

DO NOT RENT from Abby Car Montenegro. Save yourself the stress, risk, and financial loss.

Absolutely terrible experience with Abby Cars

Absolutely terrible experience with Abby Cars Athens.
Unfriendly, inflexible, and completely money-driven. They charged me an extra 200 euros because — according to them — my credit card wasn’t the “right” one. On top of that, they added a 70 euro cleaning fee when I returned the car, even though the car was in good condition.

Don’t be fooled by the low prices you see online. You will end up paying more than double once you're there. Every single person returning their car alongside me had some kind of complaint. That says it all.

Never again. Avoid Abby Cars at all costs.

Absolute thieves, unhelpful and unprofessional

We paid and order a car similar to a Pegeuot 308 and we're given a smaller Corsa telling us it's equivalent to a 208. When I told them that it was a 308,they argued with me. I have the confirmation and they still argued. They were rude, intimidating and full of don't do this, don't go there. You're not allowed on this road etc. Some of which were major roads for major tourist sites.
We didn't get what we paid for and we had to cram everyone and everything. They then tried to get us to pay extra for a larger vehicle even though we already had paid and ordered a larger vehicle.
We had paid for the extra insurance as well and they were trying to convince us at the desk that we need a further one as well.
Panagioti was very rude, not knowledgeable and unprofessional.

Our car cost 900 Euros instead of 120 Euros

We had a horrible experience with AbbyCar. Our rental was supposed to cost €120, but we ended up paying over €900. First, their credit card machine wasn’t working, so we were forced to use a debit card, which limited our options. Then, they made us buy full insurance for €200, and on top of that, they charged an €80 “young driver fee” – none of which was clearly communicated before.

The real nightmare happened when we returned the car. There were some scratches on the underside of the vehicle – something that easily happens when driving in Montenegro, where many roads are unpaved. They used our urgency to catch a flight against us and charged us €363 on the spot, claiming we needed a police report for the underside scratches. That is completely unreasonable.

We felt scammed, pressured, and taken advantage of. This company is not trustworthy – be extremely careful or better yet, rent from someone else.

Don’t book

Don’t book! We arrived in Thessaloniki and planned to drive to Thassos. On arrival they told us due to the terms and conditions the car is not allowed to go to an island, in an area where it is very likely. It was first question they ask at the desk and it felt like a very calculated game they play to not give you the car and just take your money! Restrictions in use must be displayed during the web booking process and not hidden in the terms and conditions. We had multiple customers at the desk at the same time and all with different reasons on why they need to pay much more or why they don’t get the car. There was no refund at all or cooperation at all. All they did was calling other car service where they know the term and conditions by heart to offer you an alternative and get the commission for themselves, while you will pay them for not getting a car and being scammed. If you want to start your trip without trouble and losing money, go for a different rental service!!

Smooth and Reliable Car Rental Experience with Abby Car in Athens

I would highly recommend Abby Car in Athens and would like to clear their name among the many negative reviews. I’m 23 years old and rented a Nissan van with the premium insurance plan directly through Abbycar.com. Even though I paid a young driver fee, the entire experience was professional. The customer service hotline always answered everything I needed, the airport transfer was ready within 15 minutes of calling, and the whole process went much more smoothly than I expected. No unnecessary charges for nonsense, no hidden conditions, no unpleasant surprises — simply a pleasure to rent a car. In the end, I didn’t even need a credit card (thanks to the premium insurance), and a debit card was sufficient for the deposit. Highly recommended!

Scammers with poor cars

They were a bit rude and in my view are a bunch of scammers. They slapped us with an extra €50 charge in order to avoid a breakdown charge that they said would either be €100 or €500. This would cover things like a flat battery or a flat tyre. No car hire company has ever done this to us before. They also said we had to clean out the inside of the car to full valet standard before returning it, otherwise we would be charged. The car was in bad condition, with a broken windscreen wiper and lots of other minor bits of damage.

I do not recommend Abbycar at all

I do not recommend Abbycar at all. We were never able to pick up the car we had rented for a full week. The company left us stranded in the street at 1 a.m. with no solution, all due to a misunderstanding about the dates. We had mistakenly booked the car one day earlier than our actual arrival, and despite this minor error, they refused to help us in any way.

We never got a car, no refund was offered, and no alternative was proposed. This is unacceptable and feels like a scam. Avoid this company if you want peace of mind while traveling.

AbbyCar Agadir are scammers!

AbbyCar Agadir are SCAMMERS! Even 1 star is too much for them.

First of all, they gave us a different car than the one we had reserved. Then, they sent a young man to deliver the car who was not authorized to sign any documents. After we filled in the paperwork, we had to wait again until the responsible person finally arrived to sign.

On the last day, a scooter lightly bumped into our car. All the correct insurance documents were filled in with the scooter driver (since it was his fault). Upon return, the same person was once again not present — only his “assistant” — and on the phone he told us he didn’t care about any insurance, authorities, or police, and refused to acknowledge any of it. We told him this was unacceptable, and he promised to call us back.

It’s now been two days, and he doesn’t answer any calls or messages. They have now taken €380 from our credit card without any communication or justification.

Keep in mind: there’s only a superficial scratch, and they will also receive the insurance payment from the scooter driver. In Morocco, you can fix an entire car for €380! How is it even possible that they can just take (steal) money from your credit card without your consent?

I have already informed the head of airport security at Agadir Airport about them. They are now keeping a close eye on this company, especially since they are using the airport’s parking area. I will proceed to take every legal action possible.

NEVER EVER BOOK WITH THEM!

Bad service and agressive host and driver

We had an extremely aggressive host that received us at the airport. We were told to wait for 10 min. 20 min after I have asked how long we need to wait, as the kids needed the toilet. He got very aggressive! and the driver the same. This behaviour should not be tolerated! I am sorry that I booked with them and that a little money goes to employ people like this...Better Go somewhere else

Scammed in Montenegro for a scratch on the underside of the bumper I didn’t cause charged €360. They knew it was there. Forced to pay by intimidation. Wish I had time to call the police. Gangsters.

Scammers do not use! you have been warned

We booked our Corfu car hire with Auto europe and we checked their trust pilot reviews before booking but they were an agency and they placed our booking with Abby car in Corfu. When we checked the reviews of Abby car we were horrified to see that 89% of their reviews were 1 star! We tried to cancel our booking but were told as it was last minute we would lose our money so we were forced to continue with the booking. The first thing was that they claimed to be at Corfu airport and that they were 150m outside the airport arrivals lounge, this is a complete lie, it is at least 500m or half a kilometre away and you have to walk in the blazing heat on the main road with no footpath with all of your suitcases and luggage etc to get to their office. Our flight had been delayed and we were therefore late to collect the car and were told if we had been a few more minutes they were going to cancel our booking as we hadn't told them we were going to be late. They then proceeded to strong arm us into paying a 1400 euro deposit saying that we couldn't take the car without it and it had to be on a credit card and then made us sign all different forms that were blank and not filled in so that they cold basically fill in the forms at a later date with whatever information they liked. Again they wouldn't let you take the car without signing the forms.
They basically get you to walk miles to them then threaten to take the car away and leave you stranded if you don't do what they want. The car they gave was old and falling to bits and was covered in marks and scratches and had interior knobs missing. They took a couple of photos and said that we didn't need to worry about small marks but I took a very detailed video of the car and got the employees face in the video as proof of when it was taken and it was a good job that I did. We drove the car 10 miles to our hotel and parked it in the shade under a tree for 1 week then we drove it back to the airport a week later so we completed around 20 miles in total. We did not cause any damage to the car whatsoever but the car was dusty and had a few leaves on it and 1 bird poo on the bumper, we had left a full small bottle of water in the cup holder by mistake when we returned it which we later removed. We were told that because the car was dusty and "full of rubbish"(one full water bottle) we would have to pay a cleaning fee of 86 euros! I refused to pay the charge as I thought that it was extortionate and offered to pay what I thought was a fair amount of 20 euros even though the car was only dusty and the cleaning should be included in the price of the hire and not down to the holiday maker to be washing the car whilst they are on holiday. they refused my generous offer and told me that if I didn't pay 86 euros, they would retain my 1400 euros deposit that they had extracted from me when I had taken the car. The lady that I dealt with extremely rude throughout and did not care one bit about customer service and was only interested in getting 86 euros from me for cleaning the car. At this point, you have a half a kilometer walk back to the airport in the blazing sun with all your luggage, your flight is due to take off shortly and they have 1400 euros of your money as hostage.
I decided that I would not be blackmailed or scammed by these crooks and decided to take a video of the car to show it wasn't that dirty and to fight it with my credit card company when I got back to the UK.
This is clearly a scam, they offer cheap low quality cars and then try to claw back the money from you by charging you for extras whilst taking advantage of the fact that you are at the airport in a foreign country with the time restriction of a waiting flight. I would honestly rather walk 10 miles to my hotel than hire another car from these crooks. I advise you to hire from a reputable company that is actually at the airport, I wish I had, it would have saved me a lot of stress on my holiday.

Corfu: faulty vehicle

Faulty vehicle.

Collected Fiat Panda with no issue, but advised to ignore the warning light (as now read in other Google reviews). Car drove perfectly that evening, and started and drove the following morning to the local shop. There was then a complete loss of electrical power, not even a hint of dashboard or radio lights. Roadside assistance attended the vehicle and merely jump started the car, despite my explanation that this was not a flat battery. He insisted it was ok, so I drove for 20mins further. Again, total loss of power, leaving me blocking a road. Other tourists attempted and failed to bump start the car, but agreed there was a total loss of electrical power. The same technician attended, jump started the car and claimed there was no issue, to which AbbyCar agreed. Again, flat batteries don't show complete loss of power like this. Their only offer was for me to drive the (unsafe) car back to their airport office, 40mins away. No chance. The technician took the car away on his truck, and we walked back to our accommodation. I asked to collect a replacement car on a later date but AbbyCar had 'closed' my contract, so 'No'.
No car, no refund, no admission of fault.
I'm sorry if anyone hires the same car and suffers issues. I used Surprice car rentals later in the week, no issues there.

Tirana Airport

Tirana Airport. I agree with all other ratings I would even give 0 star. Their policy is to charge more no matter what and sell premium insurance which is more than the overall amount of rental. My wife had a credit card and they were not willing to change the main driver. It took us 1 hour and through Check24 it was also not possible. Both were miserable. Never again.
