I hired Abbey Property (Luton) to manage my flat, with the expectation that they would act professionally, safeguard my financial interests, and conduct rent reviews. During their management, they deducted amounts from my rent held in their trust account without justification and repeated requests for refund were ignored. Management was extremely dissapointing, rent reviews were not conducted, despite being advertised as part of their service.
This conduct appears to breach fiduciary duties and contractual obligations under UK law. I have escalated the issue to recover mismanaged funds and associated losses.
Prospective clients should carefully consider whether Abbey Property meets the standards of transparency, accountability, and professional management required when entrusting an agent with rental income.
