Aárd is a Stockholm-based brand on a mission to create simple and sustainable beauty routines for women and men alike. We provide simple, natural and authentic beauty products all with a clear multi-use approach. Fewer products, fewer ingredients and less plastic is our way of doing things. Born out of a frustration of long (and impossible to understand) ingredient lists, perfumes causing irritations and complicated routines. From here, the journey and search for natural and simple beauty products began. Products with a rich heritage and a story to tell. The result is a multi-use philosophy, kind to both you and the planet.

No good for my acne-prone skin
After thoroughly exploring the website, I was eager to try out the cube. The prospect of using a single, natural product for multiple purposes, adapted to my specific skin type, sounded quite promising. But the reality for my mixed/acne-prone skin turned out to be quite different:
- Face: I got pimples on the very next day after using the cube
- Hair: the first time my hair turned out horribly coated and heavy. I knew something similar was to be expected but it turned out much worse than with other solid shampoos I had tested before. The only hair treatment I use is an organic shampoo so I can’t blame the poor effect on build-up of chemicals. For the second wash test, I used a baking soda pre-rinse and an acid after-rinse. This prevented the wax effect I experienced the first time, but my scalp started itching the day after and it was time to wash my hair again already on the third day.
- Hand wash: My only positive experience with the cube - it doesn’t leave my skin dry after I’ve washed my hands.
What’s most frustrating is that I was quick to buy three more cubes to give away to friends without having tested myself first, and I’m not sure what to do with them now.

A very nice soap but it got used up way too fast, hence felt too expensive.
