He takes the time to give detailed, step-by-step feedback, and you can tell he really cares. I passed my driving test first time thanks to Haji at A1 Driving School, and I couldn’t be happier!Haji is a very patient, calm, and professional instructor. He explains everything clearly and makes sure you fully understand each manoeuvre and road situation. He helped build my confidence step by step and always made me feel comfortable, even when I was nervous.

He focused on the areas I needed to improve and made sure I was fully prepared for test day. Because of his excellent teaching and support, I felt confident going into my test — and I passed first time!I highly recommend Haji and A1 Driving School to anyone looking for a supportive and knowledgeable driving instructor. I had two instructors from A1 Driving School and both showed behaviour that raises major safeguarding and professionalism concerns.

Instructor 1:

Constant lateness and last‑minute cancellations

Long personal lectures instead of teaching

Cutting lessons short but charging full price

Instructor 2 (Asif):

Took me on his weekly shopping trips during my paid lesson

Made personal phone calls while I was driving

Raised his voice in front of my children

Used lesson time for his own errands, not instruction

This is not a minor issue — it’s a clear safeguarding red flag. No learner or child should be exposed to this.

Management response:
When I reported all of this, the owner and manager refused to take any action. They offered only a partial refund, said that was “good enough,” then hung up the phone. When I called back, I was told, “I’ve got nothing more to say to you,” and they hung up again.

A driving school that ignores safeguarding concerns and dismisses complaints is not safe. I strongly advise avoiding A1 Driving School.

My instructor was Muhammad Tanveer Ahmad and he was a very good instructor has a lot of patience and helped me pas my test first time with only 1 minor we did lots of practice and prep beforehand and it was all worth it

I passed my driving test first time with 20 hours of lessons due to Haji being a terrific driving instructor. He gave me great confidence and taught me everything I needed to know!

I did my lessons with Muazzam Tariq, best instructor there is. I didn’t have a lot of time for my test but still passed first time due to his excellent teaching. Very friendly and easy to talk to and because of it I was confident for my test. 100% recommend to all that want to pass first try.

Muhammed has been a brilliant instructor! He remained patient and professional at all times and is very skilled in boosting confidence! I’m very grateful for his guidance throughout my lessons with him and appreciate his detailed teaching approach in helping me pass!

Absolutely amazing driving school, never had a lesson i wasn't happy with and my instructor (Muhammad Tanveer Ahmad) was a confident and calm instructor.

I’ve been with zaf for a few months and he was alway welcoming on every lesson he was clear with lesson plans and always asked if I had any questions. He made me aware of my strengths and weaknesses and he always made sure I understood where I was going wrong and what we needed to do moving forward. I’d recommend him and the A1 team to any new or experienced Lerner's
