99Bikes - where every bicycle comes with a free course on Australian Consumer Law
I purchased a bike from this store and the handlebars fell off within a month while I was riding. This constitutes a 'major failure' under Australian Consumer Law and entitles the consumer to choose between a refund, replacement or repair. The sales staff at the store lied to my face and infringed upon my consumer rights by telling me that their store policy does not allow refunds after 30 days, and offered a replacement.
I wasn't aware at the time that this was a complete lie, and accepted the replacement.
Within another 4 months, the back wheel of the bike fell off causing another fall. Again they refused to give me a refund, and offered a replacement infringing upon my consumer rights a second time. They rescinded their offer for a replacement when they realised the bicycle was scratched and they could not sell it to another customer (the managers actual words - wtf). Instead they offered a repair which I refused.
I went and studied Australian Consumer Law and discovered that this mob engage in shady and borderline illegal behaviour, and must give you a refund if your product suffered from a 'Major Failure'.
Further, according to Consumer Affairs Victoria: "Signs or store policy that state 'no refunds' are unlawful, because they imply it is not possible to get a refund under any circumstance - even when there is a problem with the goods or service, like a defect or lack of due care and skill.".
After dealing with this s**** show for months, repeated visits to the store and disrespectful back and forths with their customer service - I sic'd Consumer Affairs Victoria on them and they quickly capitulated and offered me a refund.
I would be very wary purchasing a bicycle from this store. They were willing to take a faulty bicycle that I was returning and put it back on their showroom floor and sell it to another customer. They will trample on your consumer rights and do their best to make your life difficult so you back down and don't pursue your legal entitlements.
Customer service to be highlighted!
While I’ve had a number of challenges with my bike across different stores, I want to give credit where it’s due — Alberto from Airport West has been absolutely fantastic. His customer service, communication and willingness to help have really stood out. Much appreciated!
Placed an order…..no stock
Placed the order and then had to chase for delivery only to be told that they don’t actually have stock….given a date for arrival which I had to chase again…..refund given….total waste of my time and energy
Awaiting a key from Dirodi. Hubby loves his ebike.
Been waiting on a key from Dirodi on a Rover plus purchased on 27 Jan 26. No key for battery still waiting as at 25 Feb 26. Bought as present for hubby. I've had to contact Diorodi directly to follow-up on missing key on a brand new bike and had a response in 5 minutes.
A bit disappointed in customer service. and not sure, why you would sell a brand new bike with no key!! Not a cheap ebike. BTW my hubby loves his ebike..only been 20 years since he's ridden a bike and loves it!!
I’ve had consistently excellent service…
I’ve had consistently excellent service from the team at 99 Bikes Carnegie. They’re helpful, knowledgeable, and generous with their time. It builds instant brand loyalty. Like finding a great barista, once you trust them, you keep coming back.
No help with a store full of men
Purchased a bike a few weeks ago. At the time, there were at least five staff on the floor, yet not one offered to help load it into my car. I’m a young woman and had to struggle for about 10 minutes. I even asked one worker passing by if it would fit across the back passenger seats, but received no assistance. The store was not busy.
We bought a Ravens BMX from 99 Bikes…
We bought a Ravens BMX from 99 Bikes for our 10‑year‑old son. He rides on our acreage—just lawn and driveway—nothing extreme. After only 14 months the sprocket bent and the pedal came off. We were told there was no warranty and that we had “abused the bike.”
We purchased new replacement parts, and within six weeks the exact same issue happened again. When I said something must be wrong with the bike, I was told it was “not possible” and that in 14 years they had never seen this happen. Well, there is always a first time.
To make matters worse, we also took another bike in for a service. We were given a price, but when we returned to collect it, the cost had doubled.
Two times now we’ve been left out of pocket and dismissed. No after‑sales support, no accountability. We will never set foot in that store again.
I 'purchased' (gave you money but have…
I 'purchased' (gave you money but have NEVER received the bike) a bike from you on the 5th jan 2025.
Its now the 4th of February and theres still no sign of my bike. Why do you sell bikes when you dont send them to your customers?
I had chased it up 4 times, to be told different false promises on all 4 occasions. The most common one being...'we're really sorry, it will be with you next Wednesday'.
Christmas was blamed even though I ordered it nearly two weeks after, and then like good old Brits, you then blamed a bit of rain.
I have NEVER received such diabolical service, or lack therefore of it.
Laughable!
Just to top things off, when i reach exhaustion point and tell them to cancel it and refund me, they instruct me I wont get a refund untill the bike which I have never received is back with them
Go some where else.
Bought a merida 8000, very nice bike, had a few problems . Still have a few problems and a few more because 99 bikes is of no use, except for Patrick. Basic warranty is to look it up on the internet or leave it for a week. Sent them a email a week ago and have not heard a word. Take your money some where else I will
Good shop
To be honest, everything’s just good quality, yous have club price to make thing cheaper, yous have some pretty cool stuff it’s all around just a good shop
Multiple issues with the PEDAL bike
Multiple issues with the PEDAL bike, I would not recommend to anyone. Constantly in the workshop being repaired. Not even one year old.
Customer service was very slow, taking ten days to respond. Save your money and look elsewhere!
Corrected previous mistake, showed good faith
** EDIT **
The manager of the bike shop contacted me after seeing my review.
I’m of the opinion that what we do to correct mistakes is far more important than the initial mistake. They amended the error, advised feedback was delivered to the staff member involved, and apologised profusely for the experience. In doing so, restored my trust in the business
Disappointed the mistake was made, but they went above and beyond to fix it. Adjusted to 4 stars.

Original review:
I came in with a bike which already had the crankset removed, and asked them to remove the bottom bracket. Very easy job.
They charged me $25 for only 2 minutes of labour. That works out to $750 per hour charged for labour!
They only told me the cost after doing the 2 minutes of work, so the only option I had was to pay for the overpriced work.
Providing costs before work is completed and charging reasonable amounts for quick jobs like this are a great way to build trust with your customers. 99bikes Springvale missed that opportunity, and also lost a returning customer.
I would stay away from this workshop, at least for small, quick jobs
Very helpful…
Very helpful on the phone then followed by with email confirmation of our conversation. Thank you
mtb pants
Ordered Some mtb pants payed 17$ for express shipping that would come in 1-3 days and it arrived in 5 days Total waste of money
One star not even worth for this
One star not even worth for this . I paid express fee for 1-3 days and it took 10 days so me and my son is so so so so so so so disappointed and it’s bullcrap
Good bike, maybe dodgy company?
The bike is good but the company seem dodgy.
We paid $80 for shipping and it said it would be delivered to our address, but the courier they chose went no further than Bathurst so we needed to do an hour round trip to collect it. We tried to call the company multiple times about this and despite being told our call was in a queue, each time it eventually said no one was available and hung up.
The bike had clearly all been taken out of the box before and put back in, and the instructions for assembly were completely missing.
Super efficient
Super efficient, quick delivery, excellent website, great products and will be purchasing more from 99 Bikes when needed. Thank you.
I bought a bike for my grandson
I bought a bike for my grandson for Christmas at 99 Bikes Joondalup. The staff were very helpful and professional. The place was so organised with sales and service at each end of the store. I then returned to the place after Christmas with my grandson so that they could adjust the seat height and to buy him a helmet, drink holder and bike lock. They were so busy but made time for me and also showed me where to locate the user manual on their website. They didn't make me feel silly, even though I didn't know much about bikes and even helped me put the bike back in the car. I can't praise them highly enough. Would definitely recommend them!
Misleading advertising
Misleading advertising. I clicked a Google ad claiming free delivery over $75, but at checkout delivery was $100. Customer service refused to honor the offer or provide any solution. I ended up buying elsewhere with much better service and the same pricing.
No tracking
99 Bikes Joondalup provided no tracking details for my bike order so I called them and they said they would email me details however they didn’t. End result, the bike was delivered without signature and left at the front door. My son, who’s Chrissy present is the bike, arrived home from school to find it. Chrissy ‘surprise’ ruined! So if you don’t want this to happen to you, or worse someone steals your unattended delivered bike, order from somewhere other than 99 Bikes Joondalup.
