Switched a few months ago as existing host retiring. Would not recommend at all. Have had trouble with email account a lot and they kept bombarding me with "tech speak" language which I didn't underst... See more

So far, I think your service is great
I am impressed with the individual attention. I hope to upload my test blog soon, thanks for the opportunity. Have yourselves a great day.
Who says you get nothing for free?
My ISP was recently taken over by a bigger 'fish', who have now told me that they are removing my free webspace as it doesn't fit in with their bigger plan... I therefore had a quick look online for a free hosting for my small, personal website, not expecting to find anything... To my surprise, I found what I was looking for straight away at 5quidhost.co.uk. Having had a good look at their website and not finding any mention of advertising or any other catches, I thought I had nothing to lose by signing up... I was surprised again, after they setup and activated my hosting within a couple of hours on a Sunday evening. I promptly copied my site over to the new hosting and pointed my domain name servers to it. All was working within another 10 minutes or so and, just over a week later, so far, so good, all is still working. I am aware that this free service has little disk space and minimal bandwidth and is intended to demo what you get with a paid-for hosting, but it was just what I was looking for, and after the honourable way in which they have dealt with me so far, there is a very good chance I will buy a hosting package for one of my bigger projects in the future. Now time to find a free ISP...
Excellent service and very straightforward to move from another provider.
I'd been a bit apprehensive about moving by business email and website. However the instructions which 5quidhost sent were very comprehensive and relatively easy to follow. Good stuff!
Superb support, polite, well priced, reliable - don't go anywhere else!
I've used 5quidhosts for a number of years and can't fault the service and the support is excellent, just what you need.
Quick, easy, trying their free host for now.
After loads and loads of googling and reading reviews and trying to work out the catch, thought I'd give them a go.
My advice ... DO IT !
do not be put off by the fact you have to register your domain name elsewhere. That bit is easy too, then you just follow the 5 lines of instructions.
I'm happy to pay once I'm bigger than my free allowance (I expect to be!)
Why did I move ? Abysmal service from 34sp.
A friendly UK based company
I have been with 5quid for many years, this year was the first time I had to be in contact with them as most things I could do via the cPanel. I ran out of space (due to switching to a wordpress based site) and they were very helpful in providing help. It was nice to be able to ring the office in Edinburgh (others seem to have no address or telephone number), I left a voicemail and they rang back within half an hour, further mail support was almost instantaneous and very helpful.
Website has not been down, and noticed, in the time I have been here, emails arrive reliably etc.
Thanks guys, Paul.
Good choice of hosting plans and excellent support
I like the range of hosting plans available which allow you to start small and grow your website. The support is excellent and very fast!
Great advice, fast responses.
No hesitation in recommending. Initial email had all relevant info so no searching for hours to find stuff.
They responded quickly to a few emails i sent.
Amazing
Very helpful responses. Very fast responses, even out of hours. Wouldn't even consider hosting anywhere else.
Quick, free, great service. Five stars!
They are great. Very quick, the service is great and so easy to set up!
fully extensible LAMP platform with exceptionally responsive tech support
Great Service!
I really like 5quidhost. I use Hostgator for servers whenever I my site serves the US market, but for the UK or the EU, I much prefer 5quidhost. It's not as automated as Hostgator, but 1 quick email takes care of most everything, just send them the request and pff, it's done.
Great service and easy to use
As a complete novice, I had to set up a website for a personal venture. After looking around at various (ridiculously expensive US based internet website providers) I came across this one. I was sceptical at first and did check reviews. In the end I thought for a few quid I had nothing left to lose. I'm glad I signed up. It was easier than I thought and I am now the proud owner of my own website. I'm not techy but there is plenty of information supplied to you.
I will be renewing my service with the host and recommend as the first step on the internet hosting ladder.
Thanks
Chelle
Excellent service, been using since 2010
Started my 1st website in 2010 and used this host and have returned to the company with my latest venture. It's cheap, efficient and very easy to use! Highly recommended!
Great service - And Free
This service was great, and especially the free option, just what I needed, may upgrade!
Simple, fast, fully featured and free.
Glad I found 5quid, could not ask for more.
Fast service with great communication
I was surprised at just how good the level of service was. I'll be sure to use them as my hosting supplier from now on.
good interface, good support desk
It seems better than competitors I know.
I manage wordpress services, and it seems that a minimum quota of usage should be up to 200MB for each wordpress blog.
Impeccable
When the time comes I will be upgrading and will be very happy to do so.
not enough storage space in free account to fully evaluate
The free storage of 100mb is not really enough to evaluate the service as it runs runs out very quickly.
