Ordered a yellow broom, which fortunately was quite healthy. However, after 2 months when it started to flower, it became clear that its blooms are red, not yellow. I specifically wanted yellow... See more

Awful plants & awful communications
Awful plants & awful communications. Avoid like the plague
Disappointing, poor value, rude customer service!
Ordered a Large Fig Tree in a 5lt pot , delivered earlier than expected . Pot was half empty with loose compost , tree was barely 25cm tall with just 2 branches both going off to one side , anything growing on the other side broken off some time before . Very disappointing for the price £39.99 !
Customer services rude and unhelpful.
No comms but great plants
I placed an order - then read reviews and wished I hadn’t.
Then out of the blue, a week later, my plants arrived. They were great and well packaged. I’m really pleased and will definitely order again from them.
The reason I gave 4 and not 5 stars is that there was no acknowledgment of my order, and I spent that week wondering if I’d ever get any plants.
80 cherry laurel hedging
Really happy with my purchase. Ordered 80 cherry laurel hedging plants. All came securely packaged in only 2 days from purchase. Currently making my way through planting and so far all seem really food quality.
Excellent healthy plants
Ordered a few times now. Received plants today, healthy beautiful plants. Delivered quickly and very well watered during journey. Packaged well.
I'm always delighted with my plant orders and delivery service.
TERRIBLE SERVICE!
I recently bought two Kerria japonica peniflora at £34.18. Plants arrived and were put in greenhouse. Now the first flowers have arrived it is clear Beechwood Nurseries sent me the wrong plants, likely to be Kerria japonica ‘Golden Guinea’. When I informed them I was told to send back the wrong plants at MY cost to Ireland to qualify for a refund! It was YOUR fault, you sent me the wrong plants, so why should I foot the bill for your mistakes?
Almost dead plant poorly packaged
Bare root Betula nigra arrived totally dried out and almost bent in half. The roots had been crudely wrapped in cling film with nothing to help retain moisture around them.
When I complained they were defensive and said I'd need to return the whole order for a refund - it also included a plant in a 2L pot which will cost £££ to return. Dreadful company, avoid.
order took 9 days to arrive the potted…
order took 9 days to arrive the potted cherry tree arrived in poor condition, leaves yellow and drooping , plant sent from
Beechwood Nurseries Ltd
Company based in N Ireland, would never order from them again.
Half dead plant sent and no refund
The first plant I received was clearly unhealthy, with blackened stems and signs of dieback. I raised this with them, and I was told this condition was “normal” for the plant. However, this explanation is not acceptable, as I ordered a second plant of the same variety the following day from a different nursery, which arrived in far superior, healthy condition with no dead stems. This clearly demonstrates that the first plant was not of acceptable quality.
I was required to return the faulty plant at my own expense (£4.25), and never received a refund for the item itself £14.99 from you, I was not reimbursed for the return postage. As a result this cost £19.24 that you have not refunded me, Shame on you.
Under consumer law, goods must be of satisfactory quality and as described. The plant I received did not meet these standards, and I should not have been required to pay return postage for a faulty item. (also known as Beechwood Nurseries) Ireland
Based on my own experience
Based on my own experience. Well described items (flowers/ rhododendrons). Parcel came very well secured! Inside I've found healthy ,beautiful plants. It's my second order from them in short time (one from their website and other via eBay) and I'm more than happy! Hard to believe that their business got so many bad opinions. I'm really happy and it's not my last order for sure.
Really poor service and equally poor…
Really poor service and equally poor customer service. I was only sent half of my order and when I complained to them about this they initially insisted that they had sent me all of it, and then they just stopped corresponding with me, and I was never sent the other half of my order. I am on benefits so a purchase of over £30 is a big deal to me. I won’t be giving them my custom again and certainly wouldn’t recommend them.
Lack of communiation
I bought a peach tree and it arrived and with lots of lovely blossoms. I wanted another and despite contacting they've not answered.
Never seen a company with over 60% of 1 star reviews This worries me that they probably haven't sent the right variety of Peachtree and getting redressed will probably be impossible.
Wish I had seen this before ordering
Wish I had seen this before ordering. Bought plant under name of Beechwood Trees on Ebay. Also badged a 3fatpigs. This was unknown to me at point of sale. They sent wrong plant. They did despatch supposedly the right item. Who knows til it grows.
Bare root plant arrived. I was promised a 40 to 60 cm item. The twig with a few roots approached 30 cm. I complained only to be told the size of plant is correct BECAUSE THE SIZE INCLUDES THE ROOTS
I would give them zero stars
I would give them zero stars! LARGE FIG TREE READY TO FRUIT was a 13 cm stick in a pot don't waste your money buying from this company I sent it back and reordered from YOU GARDEN on Amazon for £21.99 and the height of the tree will be between 70 cm and 100 cm not a 13cm stick for £34.99!! this company is total rubbish. DO NOT BUY FROM THEM
Feb 26 they were fine...
Just want to say that I ordered 10 or so saplings from 3fatpigs this February, before reading these dreadful reviews; and in our case the correct order arrived, well packaged, in good condition, with saplings in good apparent health. So no complaints here!
btw we are a country estate in Norfolk, so are no strangers to buying 100s of saplings
Don't be fooled by the nice website
Don't be fooled by the nice website. They take your money and then blank you.
No phone contact number.
No company address (just a house address in Ireland).
E-mail enquiries are ignored if you have a problem.
A one-man-band sending out poor quality and unable to deal with customers who have a complaint.
If you want to be disappointed and then ignored, this is the place to go.
Very unprofessional, no reply to emails. AVOID.
Very unprofessional, wrong trees sent, emails are ignored once they realise there is a problem with your order.
AVOID 3 Fat Pigs / Beechwood Nurseries.
I ordered 10 Jacquemontii trees but they arrived labelled as just standard "Silver Birch", which was not what I ordered. I contacted them and they replied saying not to worry about the label, they were definitely what I ordered.
The trees have now grown, and are very clearly just standard native Silver Birch, definitely not Jacquemontii.
I contacted their sales email, who initially replied to my email, until I explained the problem, now they just ignore all emails and don't reply.
Unbelievably unprofessional. Happy to take your money, but not interested if there is a problem. Just ignoring emails tells you a lot about this "business".
Their website has no phone number, so email is the only way of contacting them, which they ignore once they've got your money. The address on the website is just a house on a council estate.
AVOID.
They also challenge poor feedback to get it removed, so there are probably many more bad reviews which got removed because the reviewer didn’t jump through hoops to keep it on here.
Dreadful company
Dreadful company, ordered 3 birch trees, received 2 dead trees. No response to multiple emails. Other plants in the order of very poor quality, terrible way to run a business.
**3fat pigs have queried my review. I can provide extracts of emails and pictures forwarded to customer services (and ignored) if this helps remind you of my negative experience.
Deserved zero star.
This one star should belong to the currier only. The rose arrival already weak and it's dying back at the very beginning and the customer service was ridiculous.
Their presentation just like the three pigs in their web page.
Everyone should go and have a look on their delivery details and refund details! It's interesting!
15x Griselinia
I ordered 15x Griselinia on the Thursday, collected by DPD on the Friday and delivered to me on the Sunday. Plants were well packaged for the journey and are of good quality for the price.
I was a bit shocked seeing so many negative reviews on here but my experience has only been positive. I will be buying again. Thank you guys!
