Avoid at all costs

Extremely poor experience with 21st Century Motors.

I received a written quotation for a BYD Sealion 7 Excellence at £439.12 per month, accepted it through their website and then received an email from them specifically confirming “Thank you for accepting our quotation.” I then started completing the finance application based on the accepted quote.

Around 10 minutes later, I received a call saying they had made a mistake and the price was actually £493 per month — almost £54 a month more.

I was then told this was the second pricing mistake they had made that same day, which doesn’t exactly inspire confidence.

Mistakes can happen, but it’s how a company deals with them that matters. I spoke to the manager and found his attitude extremely poor. There was no attempt whatsoever to find a solution, no compromise, no gesture of goodwill and nothing offered at all. It was simply a straight “no” when I asked whether they would do anything given I had already accepted their written quotation.

The whole experience left me with absolutely no confidence in dealing with them, particularly when considering entering into a three-year agreement.

Avoid at all costs. There are much better leasing companies out there with far better customer service.

Enabled Informed Choice

Ordered Renault Scenic Etech - Mark found a much better no-deposit deal than I could, no matter how much I trawled the internet. He even beat my best Defence Discount monthly rentals. After ordering, I received almost weekly updates as to how my factory order was progressing and delivery was hassle free. Very easy to deal with and Mark’s advice superb and knowledgeable and enabled me to make and informed choice between the Hybrid Symbioz vs Full Battery Electric Scenic.
Would recommend 21st Century Motors.
