Our AC stopped working

Our AC stopped working. 2-10 sent a contractor out who found a leaking valve and no freon. They sent us a estimate of $420 to replace the freon. We are on the Elite plan and freon is covered. I am now on my 5th day in a row trying to get them to correct their system so the contractor can come out and fix this. Every call they put me on hold and I explain the situation which they agree that I should not pay but give me some excuse that they cannot change it and a manager will call me within the next two hour. NO ONE HAS CALLED! This has happened every day. Do not buy this service!!!!

Would give this company 0 stars if I…

Would give this company 0 stars if I could. Terrible customer service, no one is able to assist you and when they say they are assisting you, something ends up going wrong and no one calls to tell you so nothing happens and you have to waste more time calling back in to try and get this new problem solved. Can never talk to a supervisor and have to wait to hear from them and they never call you. They just continue to delay getting you what you need and never update you when problems arise so you are sitting there waiting with nothing happening on their end. Have had an unresolved claim for 6 months now and 0 progress on it.

Horrible Costumer Service - DO NOT BUY WITH THEM

You simply cannot get hold of people who can fix your issues. I called 4 times, waiting time over 2h. When I got a callback, they could not find my Plan with the ID# I am reading from their own website. Also, some of the calls were from overseas and were completely jammed, so I could not listen to the person. One of the calls, the person said, I would get another call because he only had the old system, and I would need to wait two more hours for it, I called since 8:00 am, and at 4:00 pm, I could not have my problem addressed. They are not serious and act as a scam. NEVER BUT THEIR PLAN the correct subtitle on their logo should be: LONG PHONE WAITING TIME UNHAPPY HOMEOWNERS.

I normally do not leave negative…

I normally do not leave negative reviews, but after more than 2 months dealing with an unresolved HVAC claim through 2-10 Home Buyers Warranty, I feel compelled to share my experience.

My heating system claim was opened on 3/9/2026 after my attic furnace began leaking water into my ceiling. Since then, I have experienced repeated contractor responsiveness and communication issues.

I was initially assigned multiple in-network HVAC contractors who either failed to respond or failed to move the claim forward. This forced me to temporarily obtain an out-of-network diagnosis to prevent further damage to my home.

2-10 later instructed me to return to the in-network process. An in-network contractor inspected the system, submitted the diagnosis, and the claim was approved with parts/equipment authorized. However, after approval, the contractor stopped responding and the approved work was never completed.

Despite numerous calls, emails, and requests for supervisor assistance, I was eventually informed there may no longer be an available in-network contractor in my area to complete the approved work, and that I may now need to proceed out-of-network again — leaving me responsible for thousands of dollars in additional costs despite fully complying with the process requested by 2-10.

As of today (5/20/2026), the claim remains unresolved and reimbursement for my previously submitted diagnostic invoice is still pending.

I understand delays can happen, but the lack of communication, contractor coordination, and claim resolution has been extremely frustrating.

I have been a customer of 2-10 Home…

I have been a customer of 2-10 Home Warranty since 2015 and have faithfully paid around $122 per month for coverage. Recently, our water heater began leaking from the attic, causing water damage through both the second and first floors of our home. This was an emergency situation that needed immediate attention to prevent further damage and loss of hot water.

Unfortunately, the warranty company’s response time was 2–3 days before they could send someone out, which was simply not realistic for an active leak causing damage throughout the house. Because of the urgency, we had no choice but to use an out-of-network provider to replace the water heater immediately.

The total cost of the replacement was $4,813, yet the warranty only reimbursed $699. After paying into the warranty for over 10 years, this was extremely disappointing and nowhere near enough to cover the actual expense of an emergency replacement.

While I understand policies and limitations may apply, customers should clearly understand how little coverage may actually be provided in urgent situations where immediate action is required. Based on this experience, I question the value of continuing to pay such high monthly premiums for such limited support when it matters most.

A Joke!

If I could give this company a negative number I would. I bought a home last year that came with a 1 year warranty on my AC unit that was 15 years old. My AC went out and they sent a contractor who replaced a coil that cost me out of pocket $300 + and didn't fix the problem. The contractor repeatedly said I needed a new unit, but 210 wanted to replace parts and refurbished parts at that. The compressor was the problem and I first authorized the purchase of a "new" compressor, but specifically told them I didn't not authorize the use of refurbished parts and would instead take the ridiculous cash offer of $900. They never called me back as they said and ordered the refurbish part which now they not only want to charge me a 20% restocking fee, but they also want to charge me $100 service fee for what the contractor would receive if installing the compressor that I didn't authorize the purchase of and which is not being installed. You heard that correctly, a charge for installation of something that isn't being installed. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY! It is a joke!!

Negative Customer Service and Dispatch

I have been with 2-10 for roughly five or six years. I have multiple properties covered and have never had any negative experiences until the past few weeks.

I called to leave a simple complaint about a vendor that was dispatched to repair a dishwasher when they did nothing and just took a few pictures and did not complete an inspection. Pawned it off on an electrician.

The electrician came and provided a thorough inspection and deemed all electrical receptacles are fine, the issue is indeed, device related.

The original appliance company was dispatched again, but then tells me they will not work on it because it is hard-wired (they will not turn off the power from the breaker) and there is a "loose" wire under the device. The wire also needs to be addressed and said to call an electrician to fix the wire within the dishwasher.

After multiple calls to 2-10, I thought I was getting somewhere, but their customer service apparently doesn't take or save any notes in their computer system. They told me multiple times, there is no record of your calls. No record of any conversations. No records at all, then get told someone will call you within 2-24 hours after researching, to never receive any call back.

It was like pulling teeth to have them escalate my call. I called back because, you guess it, my call never came. Only to be told, I cannot locate your agreement, or your dispatch. Someone will need to call you who has access.

They cannot provide any call confirmation or verification and I am simply relying on a gust of wind at this point. Utterly frustrated.

I paid another company to come inspect and provide me with a detailed quote of what the issue is and how much it will cost and 2-10 said they will not accept it and will not provide it to their dispatched company.

Do NOT purchase 2 10 Home warranty

I rarely leave negative reviews, but my experience with 2-10 Home Warranty has been beyond frustrating. What should have been a straightforward warranty claim turned into a drawn-out process filled with delays, poor communication, and constant runaround.
Getting someone to actually provide clear answers felt nearly impossible. Every step seemed designed to waste time rather than resolve the issue. When you pay for a home warranty, you expect peace of mind — not endless phone calls, excuses, and waiting weeks for action.
The contractors were never assigned but I was charged fees, very disappointing, and the lack of urgency or accountability from customer service made the experience even worse. At times it felt like the goal was to avoid covering the repair instead of helping the customer.
I understand no company is perfect, but reliability and responsiveness matter when people are dealing with home issues that affect daily life. Based on my experience, I would not recommend 2-10 Home Warranty to others.

Worst Home Warranty Experience

I would have given this company more stars based on my prior one-off small jobs experience but this most recent one was so bad I have to warn others to avoid this company. My fridge went out, they sent a technician to confirm it was done. 2-10 kept telling me the technician would deliver a new one (he laughed and said no that's not how their company works-as he knows more about how their company works than they do). They gave me a delivery date of two weeks after all this (without a fridge) for a Monday, but instead, their third party travel delivery company tried to deliver it a week early with a 20 minute notice. I rushed home only for them to not be able to fit the fridge through my door. They tricked me into "rejecting" the fridge with it not fitting through my door even with the door off, and it was a shit show thereafter. I called almost daily waiting 1-2 hours most times. They told me it would still be delivered on the original Monday (two weeks from the incident). Monday came and went, I called daily, they told me it was lost didn't know where it was and promised me it would be delivered Thursday or Friday, which it wasn't. Then they told me it would be Monday, when it didn't come Monday, I called and they found their information and Lowes didn't match but that it would now be delivered within 1-5 business days, then I got a call 4 days after that, that because I rejected the fridge and they don't TAKE INTO ACCOUNT MEASUREMENTS IN THEIR CONTRACT, that I now have to accept the measly $800 cash offer instead and go get my own fridge. Mind you, it's been almost a month, and they have dragged this out, misinformation every call, no one knows what's going on it's like they're all working for a different company. Mind you, I called and confirmed they had my measurements which was a blatant lie on their end. The check will take up to another two weeks to get here, if I even get it. I've lost food, can't cook or meal prep so I've wasted so much money getting take out, I've had to buy ice daily. WHAT A NIGHTMARE DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY, TIME OR ENERGY.

Worst company ever

Worst company ever. Our new home builder company uses them. Our AC unit went out 8 times. They started our 1-year drywall repair and other things but never came back to finish. I had to move things around the house and they don't care we have small kids.

2-10 warranty not worth the money! Denied!

This is a new house. My outside unit - Heat Pump - failed with 2 months of warranty remaining. I called my HVAC company and they told me the equipment was under warranty but not the labor. The tech installed a bypass so we could have heat and I contacted 2-10. They sent a Tech over who said the system had been tampered with and they denied the claim as a pre-existing condition. Despite my appeals I had to eat about $1,800 in repairs. Keep in mind, each phone call puts you on hold for 45 minutes or longer. Of course my original sales rep is nowhere to be found and doesn't return calls. 2-10 lives down to the stereotype of a warranty company that turns everything down.

I’ve had to put in 3 service requests…

I’ve had to put in 3 service requests since December for the exact same heating issue, and it’s honestly been beyond frustrating.

The most recent one was March 9th, and instead of sending back the same contractor who already came out (and collected the $100 service fee), they keep sending different contractors every time. So now I have to explain the whole situation all over again, and then spend more time calling them to fix THEIR mistake.

This process is exhausting and takes way too much time, especially when you have a family depending on heat. We’ve literally been sitting in the cold longer than we should have because of how unorganized this is.

On top of that, trying to contact them online is almost imposible. The system keeps logging you out, so if it’s after hours there’s basically no way to get help or even follow up.

At this point it just feels like a loop of paying fees and getting nowhere. I expected way better service than this.

Update: I've since learned that if you put in your service request via online there computer has no way of knowing this is a repeat service and to assign you to the last technician. In my opinion this is something that needs to be fixed in the system, most especially since getting in touch with them online is somewhat of a circle. You you try to message them it logs you out...You log back in and it contact and you are again logged out. So, my advice is if you're having repeat problems, call them. There customer service once you reach them is very good.

I was on the phone today 3 different people and ended up with a denial for my furnace after 20 years of them servicing this system im disappointed after years of trust they told me because it’s not normal wear and tear when they had my home since 2006 they lied to me and stated a written diagnostic was given when thre Contracter stated he did not submit one I was on the phone when the guys stated he would submit one and the man on the phone wrote himself that the dampers weren’t built correct when is was installed I’m like what so the contractor says I never told them that the agent kept asking me how is it the furnace and I told them it’s not working after test done and call gets disconnected I call back this guys says get ur own contractor I said no when I’ve been paying u then I get a lady after to make a complaint about the lies and stress anxiety they are causing me she escalated it to a manager whom is supposed to return my call urgent and nobody called back i invested 20 years for these people to treat me like I serviced my own home they sent out contractors who don’t even get vetted first my system need to be replaced after 20 years and I have to do it what do they cover ? Broken refrigerator

Still waiting for them to fix my refrigerator. It's been 13 days now. I've had this insurance for 5 years and this is the 1st time using it. You have to call there billing dept to speak to anyone and they can not help you or put you in touch with anyone. I had American Home Shield I should have never left them. This has been the most awful experience ever. All I want is a refrigerator that works. Whatever you do as a home owner DO NOT GET 2-10 get American Home Shield they help you and you speak to a real person. 2-10 your company is not professional awful service whomever gave your company a business license has a great sence of humor. THIS IS A SCAM BUSINESS DO NOT DO…

THIS IS A SCAM BUSINESS DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS COMPANY!! I WILL BE REPORTING THIS BUSINESS TO THE COLORADO SECRETARY OF STATE!!

I would give this business zero stars if I could. My water heater went out, worn through and leaking. Filed online. contractor came out, gave it a look, and left (5 minutes). Service request showed there would be "uncovered expenses". I authorized expenses. Never heard from contractor again. Called 2-10 customer support - nothing they could do. Called Warranty Claims line - hangs up on you saying they are "experiencing high call volumes" regardless the time of day. After over a week living in a home with no hot water and sick family members, I called another contractor and had my Water Heater replaced the same day!

2-10 Home Warranty Will Not Help You

We have been paying for this warranty monthly for approximately five years, and during that time 2‑10 has sent contractors out once or twice a year to add refrigerant “Freon” to a system that is clearly failing (as we've been told multiple times by their the technicians who add the freon. Despite these repeated visits, the underlying issue has never been repaired.
This winter, our HVAC system failed completely — during the coldest temperatures of the year, with outdoor temperatures dropping into the 20s. As of today, 2‑10 has still not sent a technician to even inspect the system, let alone repair it. This delay has left our family of four, including our two daughters, without heat for over a week in dangerously cold conditions.

Our experience aligns with numerous public complaints about 2‑10 Home Buyers Warranty, including hundreds of BBB complaints in the past three years, many citing delays, denied claims, and difficulty reaching customer service. We've experienced all of that are more. It is impossible to get anyone on the phone, sometimes waiting over an hour only to be hung up on.

We highly recommend you AVOID this company and their parent organization FrontDoor.com / FrontDoorHome.com They will do everything they possible can to avoid covering any systems, appliances, or other covered items in your home.

Horrible service and terrible warranty

Horrible service and terrible warranty. Been given the run around for days. I’m on day 5 with no heat. No return calls, refusal to let me speak with a supervisor. The contractor they sent was incompetent and when I out in a complaint and asked not to have him return they sent him again and he basically said he “didn’t know what to say”. Needless to say we are without heat still. As a real estate Broker as well I will do my best to tell everyone agent I know to never ever use or recommend this company. Complete scam

The absolute worse home warranty…

The absolute worse home warranty company you can work with! Avoid at all costs. They are simply a call center that takes no accountability for extreme delays, bad repairs, contractors not showing up, incorrect charging, and everything in between. You will only lose time and money working with this company.
