Do not use this company. The date of experience does not go back far enough

I sent my Nikon lens in for repair they had it for over two years. They fitted the damaged mount. I then had a email saying there was a problem with the soft focus. That was the last i heard from them. I emailed the company and insisted they sent my lens back. Which they did with no charge. The lens does not fit on the camara very well also the focus does not work. Not bad after 2 years.

Brilliant camera repair service!

I sent my medium format to the team for repairs and I can say I am very pleased with the service provided. I will definitely be using them again in the future and I shall also recommend them. Great communication also. Thank you.

1st Aid Repairs gave me a very professional cost effective service

I dropped my Sony DX10 Mk4 and the lens started chattering when motoring in and out. It was still able to focus and otherwise functioning well, but was clearly going to get worse over time, so I emailed at least 8 companies describing the fault and only 1st Aid Repairs gave a professional reply with a description of the work and parts needed to repair it and a fixed price of £268.51p.
Other companies just said to send the camera and they would send a quote, others just gave a ball park cost, without any other information and the costs were £450 plus.
I contacted 1st Aid Repairs as they were very professional and agreed that when the camera arrived, one of their engineers would examine the camera and if they found that it it needed more work or parts, they would email me a quote and if I didn't wish to go ahead they would return my camera at no cost. I decided to send my Sony to 1st Aid Repairs who sent me an email to confirm that it had arrived and an estimate of when an engineer would be able to look at it, then confirmation that it would be repaired for the £268.51p quoted, then confirmation that the repair was complete and how to pay, then confirmation that payment had been received and the tracking number of return.
I have to say that my Sony DX10 Mk4 looked new when it arrived and the lens is silent in action again.
1st Aid Repairs gave me a very professional cost effective service

Very disappointed with this company

Very disappointed with this company, communication very poor and lacking.
My Sony 70-200mm lens had water ingress on the back of the lens, so I approached 1stAidRepairs for an estimate to repair.
Despite accepting the estimate and paying the invoice, the lens was eventually returned with a 50mm crack in the hood.
After initial acknowledgement, they said that they did not recall seeing a crack in the hood and that they would see if they could locate a replacement.
Any follow-up enquiries about a replacement lens hood have gone unanswered.
The lens still shows some signs of water ingress.

Timeline:

June 14: Lens received for inspection.
June 24: Repair estimate received, accepted the same day.
July 8 & 17: Sent enquiries about the repair status.
July 17: Received invoice for repairs.
July 22: Received lens, discovered a 50mm crack in the hood. Company denied knowledge but offered to search for a replacement.
Sept 3 & 27: Followed up on the replacement hood; no response.
Oct 2: Still no response.

I did email you on 29th July to ask you to confirm the model of your hood, to which we had no reply.
Unfortunately we have no record of the email of 3rd September, but did reply to your email of 27th September.

I have subsequently called you and emailed you again requesting that you confirm the model of your hood which we believe is an SH133 so that we can locate the correct replacement and ship to you.

Canon zoom 100-400 USM lens digital…

Canon zoom 100-400 USM lens digital stabiliser problem fixed; two other camera specialists said it could not be repaired due to spares discontinued @ Canon. No problem here - they sourced a spare and everything is now working. Congratulations to all involved.

Great communication and Service

I can't fault them, I sent in my workhorse 24-70 2.8 to have the iris control fixed. They communicated every step of the way, gave me a fair quote and the repair was completed within the time frame that they stated. I was hesitant to send my gear in to a mail order operation, but i was pleasantly surprised by the service provided

Just received my Yashica 124 TLR…

Just received my Yashica 124 TLR 1968/69 model back from 1st Aid Repairs and I cannot thank them enough for the sgutterand light meter repair as well as the full service, it looks like a nearly new yashica, everything cleaned perfectly 100 % 5*, thank you all so much for the superb service, Colin.

Excellent service.

Excellent service.

Diagnosed the problem (a common one for a Pentax K70 - aperture solenoid) online and quoted a fair price.

Good communication from there on.

One slight concern was an estimate of 4 - 6 weeks for the repair, after they had received it, but the camera was returned to me within 4 weeks.

The camera came back looking as good as new, and seems to be fully functional (only received today).

The Right Image

I liked their communications right from the start of my online repair estimate and really pleased that this was stuck to.
Very good clear communications and updates on repair progress.
A minor issue with the service that was very quickly rectified by Adrian with a superb turnaround service.
The service quotes were very reasonable in comparison to the “ big boys”.
Be clear on what needs doing and I’m sure you will not go wrong.
My Nikon d810 has been serviced to my rather precise expectations!

Great experience from very helpful and professional company

My Sony a6400 has a cracked screen. So I used the enquiry form to get a quote.
Within 1hr I got a reply with a full quote detailing all the costs and how to send my camera.
I rang as I wanted to actually speak to a human. Rhys explained the process and I was reassured the company was legit.
Camera sent by royal mail.
Recieved an email it had arrived and was being assessed.
I then got an email telling me that on inspection the screen was fine and only the protector was damaged. Cost reduced - camera fixed.
I payed and it was dispatched and arrived the next day.
Great service I would use them again.

Fantastic repair to JVC Camcorder

Initially spoke with Rhys and described the problem with my JVC Video Camera and he suggested they could repair. The send-off process worked perfectly and so pleased to say that Adrian worked on it and fixed it. Arrived back today beautifully packaged and works perfectly so well done 1staid repairs and would certainly recommend using your services to anyone.

I sent my canon lens 24-70 mk II f2.8 with error 01. Great communication, great price. After 2 weeks I get back, cleaned and fully working. Will write more after few session later. At the moment happy customer and will use again.

When my aged Sony FX1000 developed a…

When my aged Sony FX1000 developed a mechanical tape drive fault 3 weeks before Christmas I thought it's days were numbered; Then I stumbled upon 1staidrepairs in my searches. I emailed them a description of the problem and they replied saying they believed they could repair it and gave me a provisional quote. I shipped the camera to them the week before Christmas, and despite the holidays I received the eagerly awaited email announcing the camera's repair, at the estimated cost, a couple of days into the new year. DPD speedily returned my camera, and to say I am delighted with the service I received is an understatement.

Repeat customer, not a friend or family!

1staidrepairs have just returned my third out of warranty Fujifilm lens (over a two year period) after cleaning and service. Always to the estimated cost and in the projected timescale. Packaging is very good and Dpd has been their preferred courier. Easy company to deal with, highly recommended.
