Very poor!... Perhaps
Very poor!! They do not answer the phone
I Recently bought a large quantity of shares that got consolidated. I shouldn't have lost very much on this, in fact it shouldn't have effected me negatively. but it has to the tune of ££££'s.
The accuracy of the IG platform is very hit or miss and though has some nice features, the company still leans on the "these are volatile times" to avoid contact. The have had that message for this year, but need to start up-scaling their assistance. It isnt good enough for them to lean on no customer service
Company has the potential to be great, but right now, its appalling...
I have updated my review from a 1 to a 3 and here's why...
After eventually getting through to one of the IG team (Thomas), He gave me the time to explain my issues and concerns. He was extremely knowledgeable of the IG platform and explained their policies in detail and was courteous and professional. The people that I had spoken to prior to this were dreadful, and incorrect!! and that is what made me worried about using IG.
It was thanks to Thomas that I am still a customer with IG.
Admittedly the time to answer a call is on average 40 minutes, which does need to be addressed as this adds a level of frustration. So there is still work to do!!
With stock consolidations IG do not take any commission/ spread. We reflect the market price on the exchange and consolidate the shares as instructed by the company. If, after the consolidation the price drops this is underlying market movement not IG.
With regards to our customer support, we are still very busy but have our client support team working as much as possible. If you have sent in an email, which is normally responded to in 24 hours, please be patient with us. We're getting through them as fast as we can.
