Refund was processed correctly, friendly customer service

I ordered two pairs of inline skates. We tried them at home, the size was too small for both. We returned them - it costs $15 for shipping. Customer support at first refunded 25% less arguing that they have been used. After a friendly conversation with the customer support, they checked (and sent us) the pictures taken by the returns team and refunded us the remaining 25% as well.

Overall, it was a fair experience.

Skates.com SCAM !!!

On May 23rd I ordered a pair of leather speed skate boots for my daughter $349 I never received the boots made multiple phone calls left multiple voicemails sent multiple emails now the website is shut down the phone number goes to voicemail but nobody ever returns your call. I have already contacted the Attorney General in my state of Pennsylvania and California and I've also filed a complaint with the consumer safety board in San Francisco. The credit card company says because it was a authorized purchase it's not considered fraud even though I didn't get the product !
I recommend anyone that has been scammed by this company to contact the Attorney General in their state or the consumer protection agency and file a formal complaint !

Scammed out of $175 no way to contact them and the phone numbers all go to a professional sounding voicemail. I thought due to covid shipping was taking longer but it was too long to dispute the money to get it back from my bank. I need skates, this hurt!

Scamdemic

In June 2020, I was shopping online for plates and wheels for my daughter. Skates.com appeared to be one of the best web sites I had found. It was very well-designed, had very good descriptions of the products, and had a very easy ordering process. I placed an order for a pair of plates and a set of outdoor wheels totalling $233 on June 15. My card was charged immediately, which usually indicates that the merchandise is in stock, and ready to ship. The merchant is located in San Francisco, CA and I am in the northeast, so I expected it would take some time for the order to arrive; we were also in the midst of the pandemic, so I did expect a reasonable delay. Over the next several weeks I checked my order online, and it indicated that the order was 'in process' and no changes or cancellations could be made. July and August went by, and I still had not received my order nor did I hear from the merchant. On September 1, I called the number on my receipt and my call went to voicemail which said the mailbox was full and was not accepting messages. I attempted to pull up the website, only to find it no longer existed. At that point I contacted my bank and filed a dispute. Only after all of this did I find dozens of negative reviews from other customers who were scammed, being charged for merchandise they would never receive. Many of these customer complaints were pre-pandemic. Hopefully this company will be held accountable for the thousands of dollars they have stolen from unsuspecting customers.

This company is a total scam!

This company is a total scam!! Ordered skates back in April to the tune of $551 and never arrived. After sending many messages via FB and IG they blocked me, removed as a follower and made account private. BUYER BEWARE. They maybe still taking orders online and your money with no intent to ship. Shame on you Skates.com I purchased skates in person from your store in SF in 2005 and this is a disgrace....especially during a pandemic when all many people want is something to do outside. Disgusting.

Skates.com is a complete scam

Skates.com is a complete scam. These are the worst quality skates I have ever bought. I paid $150 for skates I can’t ever use. They are shaky and unstable. The plastic from which the skates are made are cheap and toy like quality. I emailed the company requesting a refund for my $150 and they said they could only refund me $71. They are a cheap Chinese based company. I do not recommend them to anyone

I'd give them NO stars if it were possible. Obviously something is seriously wrong with this company; they haven't been filling orders for months now. No return emails, no voice mail. If you thought you were going to have supply or delivery problems, it is your obligation to contact your customers. And thank you very much for keeping our money too.

Really wish I read reviews before…

Really wish I read reviews before dropping 175 dollars on skates that are clearly never coming. I ordered them months ago and its still "processing" sent an email to them and haven't heard any reply. I was understanding bc of covid and the popularity of skates this summer but its clear now this site is a scam.

Unfortunately I have the same review as everyone else. I never received my item and it’s been many months. I have not been able to get a hold of anyone. I have sent numerous emails and called numerous times. There is not even an option to leave a voicemail, and the electronic person who answers sounds like it’s a personal cell phone, only saying the mailbox is full and cannot receive messages at this time, and very unlike a business at all.

Scam

I share the experiences of many others here. Paid for new wheels and they never shipped. I have tried calling and emailing for a while now and never received a response. Voicemail box is full. Stay away from this company. I am reporting their charge on my card as a fraud.

WORST COMPANY ON THE PLANET

The WORST COMPANY ON THE PLANET. bought in may still waiting for my $200 skates DO NOT DO ANY BUSINESS WITH THEM SCAM ARTISTS..Don't buy from them. I know that right now with the pandemic is an awful time to order skates and I tried to be reasonable. I asked them along with my order to just notify me if the delivery process would take longer than two months. I never heard from them. They will never answer their phone, sometimes you can leave a voicemail but the box is usually full. They don't respond to emails, regardless of how much time you give them. On top of that they have no issue charging you immediately with no assurances. Don't be me. Go to a local skating ring and buy yours in person if possible.

Skates.com may be a fraud

Placed an order a month ago, which still has not arrived. I understand that skates may be in demand now, but my order was for replacement bushings, which shouldn't be a high-volume item. I've emailed twice, with no response.

As far as I can tell, this business is a fraud and you should never buy from them.

Skates.con stealing from us skaters is a SERIOUS LOW!

What a beautiful website, it makes no sense to me why you'd bone over customers who would surely return if a product was actually shipped! My skates were stolen at the skatepark now skates.com is ripping me off? I am trying to believe this will be resolved. In the meantime - my feelings are hurt that I got robbed again!

I ordered a pair of Razors Aggressive Skates Cult Gold - Street - Size 12 on May 14th, $189.00, and NOTHING! Like everyone else its time to call SFPD SVU FINANCIAL CRIMES 415 553-1521 PTime / Owner Carol Sloan at 1818 Haight Street, San Francisco CA 94117.
