Works as Advertised

I purchased the "VidBox Video Conversion for PC" program on 2026-09-08 from Amazon.ca. I had used the old Honestech VHS to DVD digital video converter device that was a VidBox device, and the Honestech video conversion software, on which the VidBox video conversion program is based. The old software program and device were last updated for Windows 7, and it ceased working on Windows 11 in the last year or so.

It was flawless, except you sometimes have to "fiddle" to get it to recognize the video stream, by playing the source VHS or Hi8 video on its respective playback device. That might entail closing and reopening the VidBox program, with the video source device playing, if it does not initially recognize the video stream.

Also ensure that your antivirus program is not blocking webcam access to the VidBox program. Apparently, if webcam access is blocked, so are some Windows video components that are required.

All in all, it was a great purchase. I recommend the product to anyone who is converting old VHS and Hi8 tapes.
