I considered buying a few Cedar of Lebanon. I spoke with Ed of Treesbypost for advice. Ordered the trees. They arrived 3 days later well packed and in condition. Now planted. Could not be easier. Capps

This company ticks all the boxes, price, speed, customer relations, consideration given to live plants when packed, and condition of plant/tree upon receipt ….. I do have some awful sad experiences with companies that obviously aren’t in touch with their plants or customer relations, so I’m over the moon to have found a genuinely all round caring supplier. We made a purchase of a small plum tree, but as a nice gesture, we were sent two instead and they were delivered very quickly.

I’m very disappointed with my recent experience with Trees by Post and wish I had viewed the reviews here beforehand. I placed an order for 45 Portugal Laurel plants, costing £135.91, but only received five pots. I have emailed on two occasions and received no communication from the company to explain this. Trees by Post have also failed to provide any aftercare documents. This experience has left me frustrated and disappointed. Given the price I paid, I expected better service. I wouldn’t recommend this company based on my experience.

**UPDATE**

Treesbypost reached out to me following my previous review on Trustpilot. After I expressed my disappointment, they quickly arranged for additional Portuguese Laurel hedging bundles to be delivered, which I received today. While the total number of bundles still feels somewhat limited given the price I paid, I appreciate the company's effort to address the issue.

I also wish I had read the reviews first. Ordered 2 blackthorn. They arrived covered in blackspot. I sent photos back immediately on opening, and was told (again by 'Ed') 1. 'The leaves tend to lose condition at this time of year and eventually leaves will fall off in the autumn'. Then when I pointed out blackspot is infectious and I would not be planting in my garden, 2. (even more patronising) 'Pathogens are natural and as long as you plant outside they will be fine....If you look closely at any plants outside they will be being eaten by something or other and be impacted to some extent by pathogens.'

Who on earth sells diseased plants then tries to fob off the customer?

I would advise looking elsewhere if you are buying lavender. I ordered 30 plants and although they are 15-30 cm I'm height, there is around 3 stalks per plant. These will take years to really establish and cover some ground. I paid £99.95, I would recommend buying local and not online but I opted to buy online for ease. I later got some plants that were easily 6 times larger for £1 more each plant, which are look really healthy and bushier. I did log a review on their website but it never got posted and has no other reviews for the hidcote, either they don't post them or they don't receive good ones and opt not to post them. The delivery was quick but the plants were very poor and very woody at the bottom. Hopefully they will eventually establish and it's just a lesson of where not to buy in the future. I hate posted negative reviews but felt I really was ripped off here.

I placed a smallish order for eight different species in February. They were delivered promptly, and in good condition. After a few weeks all trees look healthy.

Really poor experience. No response to emails. Single oak tree purchased as an 80th Birthday gift. Wrong item delivered late so very disappointed. Had one email back also from ‘Ed’ to say they could not find my emails. Not heard anything since. No refund for wrong delivery day. Would not use again or recommend.

Excellent from start to finish. Easy ordering and good communication. Quick delivery. Good quality specimens, very impressed and happy. Our new go to place for trees. Thank you!

I have previously bought trees from this company with no complaints however this time I placed an order to be sent to a relative in Scotland but changing my mind the next day I cancelled the order with no response from them for a couple of days when they did contact me it was ro ask for the order number and cancellation email — both of which I duly sent to ‘ Ed ‘ with no further correspondence from them til this morning to say my order has been dispatched ! ! So beware if you order anything from Trees by Post that they ignore any enquiries or a change of mind. Needless to say I will not buy from this company again.
