Fine clothes & accessories, with great selection, easy to use website

The Rake is an outstanding clothing and accessories on-line sales shop which sells many exceptionally well-made and beautiful clothes. The website is easy-to-use and well-organized, and returns are always easy and hassle-free. They pay for return shipping if you need to return an item, which is very helpful. Their customer service is also excellent. I highly recommend The Rake.

Horrendously amateur retail operation

Horrendously amateur retail operation.

Over a month delay in shipment despite frequent assurances and over promises. The rake neglected to provide any product information to the international courier, resulting in the product being held up in customs. I've had to deal with the courier directly for a week and a half.

This is absolutely unacceptable in the world of luxury retail. The Rake needs to either overhaul this retail operation or shut it down completely because it is an embarrassment when compared to the quality of the editorial business.

I recently e-mailed The Rake Shop about…

I recently e-mailed The Rake Shop about a size that they did not have. I requested to see if they could help me out- they went to the manufacturer and had the manufacturer ended up having an extra jacket in that size. I’m thankful for the customer service. I have been a long-term subscriber and buyer from the site. I’m glad that they have customer loyalty.

Complete Silence

Before seeing these reviews I ordered some shoes. I checked in after a couple of weeks because it was taking awhile to arrive and there was no tracking information. Anne (who youll see other people namedrop) responded that it was taking awhile because it was not stored at their warehouse. Nbd for me. They eventually arrived quite late but nevertheless arrived.

They fit OK but were a bit big so I opted to return them and tried to set that up. Complete radio silence. Four or five emails and a call to a place that might have been its office but who knows. Heard absolutely nothing from them. Directly emailed anne and received an automated email that they no longer worked there but that was it.

Have since filed a chargeback with my credit card company, who have refunded me the funds and left me with a free pair of shoes.

Great brands but utterly laughable…

Great brands but utterly laughable service and logistics. I have ordered in the past and had several battles to extract items from this firm long after expected delivery. I threw in the towel with the Rake about six months ago. This business is in dire financial straits, confirmed by an email likely sent to me in error last week regarding delayed payments to suppliers. Time to put down the cigars, watches and cars and start trying to run a serious business.

Hilarious disparity in reviews

Hilarious disparity in reviews. A rash of 5 star reviews (obviously from the company). Followed by a blizzard of 1 star reviews, obviously from the customers. It's fairly obvious why it's called, 'The Rake' as they're raking it in and cheating the public. The trouble is, coming from Singapore there is no recourse in terms of getting your money back.

Unresponsive customer service

I ordered a shirt a while ago that was listed as MTO and dispatched within a week. However, the promised time frame has passed and I haven't received any updates and customer service hasn't replied to my inquiry.

Edit: I received a reply after one week stating that the shirt will be dispatched later due to COVID (a dispatch date was given). I absolutely understand that but shipment was delayed another week yet again and customer service did not notify me. At some point I received a DHL notification via sms and the shirt was delivered.

Wouldn't recommend ordering from this site - one of the worst shopping experiences ever.

Never reply in time

So I was trying to arrange an exchange. Nobody is answering the phone call. I received the first email reply days after, saying basically nothing except "just let us know when you want the courier to come".
Now it's been five days after I reply their message. Today is the day I scheduled for the courier pick up. I have absolutely no clue what is going on here.
This is definitely the worst online shopping ever and I bet in the case of exchange the package will not arrive in the promised time, just as when they ship it to me for the first time, in the case of return, God know how long will the refund take them.

This has to be the worst shopping…

This has to be the worst shopping experience l have ever had. Half of my order got delivered. I was told l got a refund to my bank.. never happened!!!!. Jamie was telling lies. Now they have stop replying to me. Try ringing them no answer... Whats the point in having a customer service... If it is not In service.... "Wake up Rake". The Rake online was never like this. I've been shopping on the site since it started And l have two year subscription for the rake magazine. So for me there is no more shopping with The Rake . I will just go straight to the Edward Sextons, Cordone, Rubinacci, etc. Please can you refund the Rest of Money back... I would have no problem flying to Singapore To get my Money back. DON'T USE THE RAKE. ... Shame on You. I will be taking this further.
