Great service, great product
This company has great customer service. I ordered replacement Rx lenses for some Smith sunglasses. The order was delayed because of some quality issues and having the lenses re-worked, but they were communicative during the entire process and eventually overnighted the glasses to me in time for a fishing trip.
The quality of the Rx lenses are great as well, couldn't be more satisfied.

Eh. I bought the gray polarized lenses without a prescription. Compared to my Zenni lenses (gray, polarized, CR39), there's no perceptible difference in vision quality.
Trees and water do seem to pop a tiny bit more, but that's because the lenses have a slight greenish blue tint and are not a true gray. As a result, color accuracy is compromised and I'm unhappy about that (I wanted gray for a reason). For reference, I've professionally calibrated TVs and computer monitors, and have a perfect score on a color hue test.
Customer service offered me to send the lenses back for them to reexamine, but I declined as I didn't think it'd be worth the hassle.
Overall, the lenses do not outperform a budget brand, but they're decent. I'd say the gray lenses are in-between an actual gray lens and a green lens. If they prove more resistant to crazing (reason I'm looking to move on from Zenni) then I may keep ordering from this company.
Incredible Lenses and Service
Incredible lenses - simply the best. I've been a long time addict to Kaenon lenses but their frame styles don't work for me. I've been thrilled to be able to get the same lenses as Kaenon from Tajima and in the frames I want. I prefer the brown/green mirror but have been thrilled with others as well. Service and communication has been awesome too.

Horrible product! Please dont buy this product. This is a subpar product.
And good luck getting a refund. They will tell you the imperfections are normal. So I am still fighting to get a refund.
They will tell you should just get used to them. I wouldn't even give them one star if it wasn't required.

Poor experience with Tajima replacement lenses
Purchased replacement lenses from Tajima for a pair of Maui Jim stingray sunglasses. The right lens fitperfectly The left lens was obviously mismade or the wrong lens. I asked Jacob the Ceo to send me a new lens . He refused and said I have to send my sunglasses and lenses to him. He refused to send me a new lens. Ultimately I reshaped the lense properly with a dremel tool and was able to insert in the sunglasses. I would never buy from them again and I would encourage all to waryof this conpany.

I am delighted that I found Tajima Direct. I needed to replace lenses in a relatively expensive pair of Salt+Aether Scout sunglasses and was pleasantly surprised to see them here for $99 including installation with almost immediate service available (some lenses you can replace yourself, others you must send the frames in for replacement). I needed them replaced quickly for a beach trip and had them back in my hands in less than a week, including the shipping time. The customer service rep, Steve, was extremely helpful throughout and took a personal interest in getting my order processed correctly. The sunglasses came back perfectly repaired and very nicely packaged with a bonus soft protector cloth bag. I've had things like this done at an optical shop at a much higher cost and longer turnaround. I couldn't be happier with the service here. Highly recommend!
Rocky start... superb finish!
I ordered lenses to install myself however they didn't fit. Thats the only reason I didn't give 5 stars. I emailed the founder Jacob and he immediately apologized and asked me to send them back with the frames for a precise cut and install. Just got them back and they are on point! he was responsive and fast. I wish they had the "Persol" writing on the lenses but that's okay.. these are great quality and super clear. I would use them again for sure!

I want to start by saying that I've been in customer service for over 30 years.
After doing a google search on replacement sunglass lenses I went to Tajima-Direct website and saw my replacement lenses listed at $95. Immediately after pulling up that info a customer service Rep named "Steve" came on and began a text message asking if I had a question or needed help. This was my first time on this companies web site. I had only been on the site less than a few minutes and knew little more than the price of my replacement lenses. I could also see in the picture of the lenses that Tajima was embossed on one of them instead of Rayban. The price was more than double of other sites selling my replacement lenses and I had never heard of Tajima. To me this immediately begged the question that I thought to ask. That question being, "Why would I pay $95 for lenses that weren't genuine Rayban especially when they have another companies logo embossed on them." Call me crazy but that doesn't seem rude or unusual. It also gives the rep a chance to do his job and sell his companies product. He responded "Our lenses are far superior to Raybans. If you preference is to have the original logo over a higher quality lens shop somewhere else and buy fake lenses". He didn't say why their lenses were better, instead he became rude and defensive. I replied by texting "No fakes for me. I suggest the next time that question is asked you should respond by telling the person asking the question why your companies lenses are far superior instead of suggesting they shop somewhere else and buy fake lenses." He replied by texting " There is extensive info on our web site about why our lenses are better and next time you ask a question be nice." I responded that I had been nice and simply asked a question. I then added that he was rude. Immediately after my last reply stating that he had been rude he exited the message text screen before I could get a screen shot of it.
Based on this upsetting text interaction I will never buy from or recommend this company to anyone. Steve demonstrated very poor customer service and company representation. When a customer asks a question a representative should never respond in a defensive manner and suggest that they should instead purchase fake lenses somewhere else! That is an unbelievably poor representation of a company touting a supposedly superior product. It was also appallingly crass and out of line to talk down to a perspective customer by suggesting that my question was unkind! Very poorly trained and obviously unsupervised interactions on this companies site.
Based on this negative interaction, I would hope that this company reaches out to me in an effort to make things right...... As of now, this experience raised very large red flags about the company and it's products!!! Unless this gets resolved I suggest that people STAY AWAY from Tajima Direct! I will update my review if Tajima Direct does reach out with a suitable resolution to this upsetting experience.
The reply below is very bad. Your apology is insincere. You apologize and then go on to defend your rep and everything he said. Saying that you are sorry if it came off as being rude or unkind. You support your rep telling a perspective customer that he was not "nice" when he asked a simple question. You never once address the fact that he texted that rude statement. A lack of addressing this is tacit approval of that rude statement. Also, he wasn't merely suggesting that if I shopped somewhere else that I would take a chance of buying fake lenses. He made a rude and defensive statement due to a lack of leadership and proper customer service training, much akin to the reply you sent.
Again, horrible follow up with a reply basically defending this individuals poor and rude service. Inferring that my impression was ill founded and mistaken. It was neither and I resent the insincere "politely worded" apology which rings with sarcasm.
With this poor reply your company has just sunk a level lower. If I were in charge I'd sent you both to several training seminars on customer service.

Trust them with your special frames
I bought a pair of designer half rim sunglass frames that no one I took them to would fit with Rx lenses. I did not want to be switching back and forth between frames and a Google search later I found Tajima Direct. Steve talked me through the process, Jacob kept me informed. I now have my frames- expertly fitted by their technicians with Progressives and Transitions. The modern brown tint is not overpoweringly dark. It took a while but it was worth the wait. I am going to look for more gorgeous frames to send. The cost was much less than similar services at so called high end eye glass vendors.

Great new RX sunglasses
As a long time Kaenon customer, I have found it difficult to find a Dr. who will put Kaenon RX lenses in over the past couple years. I heard about Tajima from a friend and reached out to them. Both Steve and Jacob went out of there way in assisting me with my new lenses. I filled out my RX on the Tajima website, they shipped me a box, I mailed it out and a week later I had my new RX sunglasses deliver. I really like my new grey black mirror lenses. I spent all last weekend on the water and I love the performance of the lenses. Great Product.

A Genuine Pleasure
My Daughter needed replacement lenses for her prescription Costa’s.
My Daughter has worn glasses for life, had multiple eye surgeries and has a complex prescription.
She visited 2 Large, local optometrists; one, a family friend.
Both Optical stores said they could not get her prescription handled.
I had the good fortune of finding TAJIMA DIRECT’s very Professional website.
We completed their information and prescription forms, and received a response And phone call from TAJIMA DIRECT almost immediately. Really?
They were genuinely interested in producing exactly the lenses our daughter needed.
They sent us a shipping label, and exactly 7 days later, my Daughter was smiling from ear to ear.
Her new lenses not only cut glare And haze, but are the exact color and “look”
She wanted.
Most importantly, prescription is spot on.
Dealing with TAJIMA DIRECT has been easy and a genuine pleasure.
Other family members are getting new prescriptions organized to send our existing glasses out for a new look.

Don't be nervous - Tajima Direct is legit!
I needed progressive lenses on a pair of Maui Jim Baby Beach sunglasses. The Maui Jim lens price was nuts — $600! The Tajima Direct price was 33% less. Needless to say, I was a little nervous boxing up my frames and shipping them to CA but I gave it a shot. I couldn’t be more pleased. The process, customer service and most importantly — the lenses were all great. 4 business days to TD — they arrived late on Weds. The following Monday I had an email saying my sunglasses were on their way back and they arrived 3 days later. Everything was carefully packaged, the original Maui Jim lenses were returned and my frames — with their new TD lenses — were perfect the first time. VERY happy with the entire experience!

It's very stressful when you're at an optical store spending more than an hour being sold too many mediocre and complicated options. I learned about this brand through one of the top eyewear brands I admire as they're moving from Zeiss to Tajima. I loved the purchasing process, the rep (Jacob) was super helpful and kind, the visual quality is superb. I ended up purchasing two sets of lenses, optical and suns. Amazing customer service from Tajima overall. I emailed Jacob prior to ordering and he replied ASAP. I received the lenses quickly and I ended up sending my frames over to them because it was difficult to change them myself. They turned that around in a few days and the lenses are great!!!
