After purchasing **10 × 500g bags of granulated skimmed milk**, I noticed that the bags appeared to be underweight. As this product is used commercially in our business, weight consistency is very important for stock control and cost management.
I therefore weighed the bags using multiple scales and documented the results. Many of the bags appeared to contain significantly less than the stated 500g.
Instead of receiving a clear explanation, the only response from the supplier included the comment:
“I can't believe they felt compelled to weigh each bag.”
This was disappointing, as verifying the weight of products used in a commercial kitchen is a normal and reasonable quality control step.
The company later sent one replacement bag and asked me to weigh it and send photographs as proof. I did exactly as requested and sent the photos, but unfortunately I never received any response or follow-up regarding the issue.
At this point, the main concern is not only the apparent weight discrepancy, but also the lack of communication and proper customer support when a legitimate concern is raised.
I hope the company reviews both its quality control processes and the way it communicates with customers when issues like this arise.
