Scratch pay is an honest company and served us well. They don’t take advantage of people. I was taken advantage of by another company who charged an interest rate of 499.5% interest. I have nothing good to say about this program. They set you up for failure. They are as bad as care credit in my opinion.

well, they were there when i needed it. young pound puppy nikki arrived with unrecognized hip fracture, and required amputation of hind limb ($1000). she has recovered 100%, and now my financial solvency has recovered.

Thank goodness for Scratchpay! My credit isn’t the best and I really didn’t think I’d get approved, but they came through!
Scratchpay came through at an incredibly scary and stressful moment for me and my pup. (I do have insurance so I was able to pay them back in full almost right away.) But our experience at the ER would have been a lot scarier and more stressful without Scratchpay’s help. Forever grateful.

This was a lifesaver. My cat was so sick and I had no money to get her help. The Vet told me about Scratchpay and it was so easy to apply. I was instantly approved and it went straight to the Vet where my cat was being treated. The payment plan was great. It was super easy, and I would recommend it to everyone.

Scratchpay was a lifesaver when my dog needed a procedure I wasn't in the place to pay out of pocket for. The installments were very helpful, and the fact that I was eligible for the waiving of interest if I paid off my balance within 6 months was very appealing.

However, due to being in a pinch financially and wanting to avoid the very high interest rate, I pushed myself incredibly hard to pay off the balance as soon as possible, with money that I just barely had, just to end up paying the interest anyway in the end.
I had my payments on AutoPay, and made a very large manual payment during the 5th month, nearly paying off the balance. If my AutoPay had been applied the following month, the entire balance would have been paid and interest would have been avoided. However, that large payment went toward what would have been future payments. It wasn't until 5 months later that I was notified I was being charged the additional payments plus the very large interest amount from the entire loan.

When trying to contest this, customer service was polite, but a different representative replied to each email. They finally mentioned that my loan agreement mentions that manual payments are applied to future payments, overriding the AutoPay feature. In their words, making manual payments "does not override the AutoPay feature"even though that's pretty much exactly what happened. To clarify, I had already reviewed the loan agreement multiple times. The following is the only line that even implies this would be the case for AutoPay being defaulted: "Payments will be applied first to outstanding fees, if any, then to accrued interest, and then to principal."

For current or potential future borrowers, the point is this:
**IF YOU MAKE A LARGE MANUAL PAYMENT TO TRY TO AVOID INTEREST, EITHER MAKE SURE IT IS THE FULL AMOUNT OR SET A REMINDER IN YOUR PHONE TO PAY THE REST ON YOUR USUAL PAYMENT DATE - AUTOPAY WILL NOT APPLY AND YOU WILL NEED TO PAY THE INTEREST ANYWAY.**

My dog will likely need expensive medical care in the future as she has 2 masses on her liver. I may find myself needing to use Scratchpay again in the future. Loan services being predatory is common, but this feels particularly exploitative considering that they exist to support people with expensive vet bills for the pets they care about so much, not to mention their website's statement that "transparency and simplicity are at the heart of the business." I'm just really disheartened and disappointed by this experience.

I was beyond grateful to have had the option of paying for our emergency services for our beloved pet with Scratchpay. The application was simple and quick so that the vet could get right to work saving and caring for him. As a single & low income parent, I found the payments to be affordable. I would use Scratchpay pay again.

The interest was a little high, but at least I knew every month with my payment would be. No surprises grateful it was an option when my cat was seriously ill.

Best plan when you need it and you don’t have the money up front. Easy to apply and easy to use!

At a time when my kitty needed emergency surgery Scratchpay was there to help me with a plan to pay for the surgery. Also their customer service is top tier.

Scratch pay is very simple. The way the loans are structured makes it easy to pay off before interest starts. The app is super convenient. I only had technical issues, once or twice; while paying this loan. Also, I was able to get more than one loan at once. Which, means more than one veterinary hospital as well. Thank you scratch pay.

I have had to take a couple of my pets to emergency vets, and without stopping to plan out how those vet bills will be paid. My pets lives are so important and Scratchpay has made it possible for me to get the care my pet needs and relieve me from the worry of how to pay for those services.
