Very poor communication skills. I happen to miss 2 bi-weekly payments and got no notification nothing. They are supposed to be pulling payments out of another account. No attempts been made.... See more

Bad customer service
Bad customer service. Not enough experience personal. Lots of new people and they do not know proper customer service. Bad experience
This is the worst bank I have been…
This is the worst bank I have been banking with them since i was 17 and im 42 this year they just decided to close my account and then send me a cheque I go in there to cash cheque and they say they cant help me even with my id honestly I wouldn't bank with them i have 4 kids
Not worth it.
It would not let me into my account until I changed my password AGAIN. I did that but it still would not give me access. It wanted me to go into my settings and do all kinds of stuff. I am not computer savey and this was just getting frustrating so I called them for help. After giving them a bunch of information and answering about 10 questions I failed. I failed because I did not know the year I opened up the account. When it's over 10 or 15 years and does not mean a lot to me I will not remember. I do not remember unimportant things that happened over 10 or so years ago. Sorry Scotia bank but you don't mean that much to me for me to remember that. Because I could not remember the exact year, I was not allowed access to my account. Tomorrow I will go down and close the account. It is not worth the aggravation. I hope no one else quizzes me on some unimportant mundane thing I did over 10 years ago.
Scotiabank is the worst!
Scotiabank is the worst bank ever. They need to get with the times. Twice in one week they cut off my ability to get on my mobile banking. Fixed it once over the phone then 2 days later happened again. Called in and said that I had to visit a beach for identity purposes, like WTF! I’ve answered all their questions the same as I did 2 days prior and they didn’t believe it was me. Like don’t you think I would have called if there was anything fraudulent going on. My card still works, but I cannot move or transfer any money between accounts through telephone banking either. They are idiots there. Like I want to go in there on my day off wait in line just to say “yep that’s me” isn’t that what the 2 step verification is for? Most banks send a text or email about fraud for you to verify but nope Scotia will just deny access. Will be closing all my accounts there
Three Months to get a VISA Card to be…
Three Months to get a VISA Card to be delivered to Mexico.
Agent at Scotia Bank are not concise 3-5 days, 5-7 days 7-10 days.
I wait the length of time, no card has arrived. Sorry there was a problem. It didn’t get send out. No one calls me they me wait wasting me time.
I called once again this morning to get a VISA CARD sent to Mexico. I actually was able to talk to a manager. She said all was done I’ll get tracking number tomorrow. Nope what I received was an e mail saying my card was being delivered to a branch in Burlington Ontario. Now on the phone over an hour seems they have no idea what has happen to my call this morning with a confirmation of the call.
I have asked for compensation as my time is as available as the Bank. 3 months hours one the phone. Still no idea when I’ll get this card. So much more I should write a book detailing why not to use Scotia Bank.
Give Naya her money backkk
Poor Organization of Services at Scotia.. Fairview Branch
Today I embarked on another adventure to try for the third time in over a year, to attempt, once again, to add another account holder to my accounts. Joined the line and waited for the bank to open. Why would I think that is an easy process after the previous attempts? After many hours, I watched the client numbers decreased and increased, everyone walking around looking busy, and the time for lunch approaching. Something needs to improve. I don't have the extra time nor the luxury to be in another's place of business, over long, while my affairs suffer. Poor Organization of Services.
Updated: To add an account holder's name to my accounts took 4 hours and 40 minutes. If they went any faster, someone might call the police on them. SMH.🙆🏾♀️
They hate Canadians
Needed two more months until an inheritance came through. Was on a reduced payment plan for a vehicle. They lied and said they tried to call five days in a row yet our phone records show different. When we called to rectify the problem I was treated horribly and talked down to by someone definitely not in Canada. It's a shame that they literally just threw away $40,000 because they wanted to play God and repo vehicle. Trust me when I say they won't get their money back.
Worst banking services ever
Annual fees on day of closing account
They charged me an annual fee on the day that I was closing my credit card.
It's absurd to force someone to pay for a service they aren't going to use.
I called and the customer service said there was no way to revert the charge.

It was impossible to understand the customer service representative. Her command of the English language was 1 out of 10! Neither myself or my husband understood her

The REVIEWS SPEAK VOLUMES!
This is the most useless bank ever
This is the most useless bank ever. No one listens to anything. App never works, try and fix it and you’re transferred to fraud. Like what!! What happened to technical support. The bank accounts just disappear and you cant access your accounts for days. Oh and don't change your phone and try to download the app again. Too many issues to mention. Worst bank ever
Negative experience
Every time I have a transaction at Scotiabank Bayview Village it’s a long wait and employees don’t know their products or it’s interrogations. People come and go thus you will mostly interact with new customer service most of the time.
I have tried to set up appointments with advisors and managers, they ignore your email, they don’t get back to you and you have to do several follow ups. Their attitude plus non apologetic observations!
Despite many people’s complaints and negative feedback nothing has improved.
There is a reason people leave their honest opinion and experience and I do hope the person concerned read and action so that the customers get good service.

Don't ever
Don't ever, ever deal with Scotiabank. If you need help from them they will screw you over. The worst experience ever with a bank in Canada
Hamza Ben Zuber attitude and unprofessional behaviour
During our recent visit to the Raylawson branch of Scotiabank, we experienced an incredibly frustrating interaction that left us dissatisfied and disheartened. We had previously contacted the bank’s call center, where we thoroughly explained our situation regarding cash withdrawal limits and e-transfers. The representative had assured us that visiting the Raylawson branch would allow us to address our concerns directly, as the staff there had the authority to increase our limits for emergency purposes.
Upon arrival, we spoke with a lady at the counter who, despite our detailed explanation, responded that she could not assist us. It felt as though she was simply reciting a script, repeating the same refusal over and over without considering our unique circumstances. Growing increasingly concerned, we requested that she consult her manager to see if there was any way to accommodate our request.
That’s when Hamza ben Zuber, who was standing nearby, interjected. Instead of offering assistance or understanding, he adopted a dismissive attitude. He repeatedly stated that nothing could be done, showing a complete lack of empathy and customer service skills. His manner was unprofessional. When I raised my voice out of frustration, he responded with indifference, suggesting that I should leave the branch if I was unhappy.
I was left wondering what kind of customer service Scotiabank endorses by employing individuals like Hamza. His behavior not only exacerbated an already distressing situation but also reflected poorly on the bank as a whole. Disheartened by the entire experience, we decided we would no longer consider doing business with Scotiabank and would refrain from recommending it to others.
I also plan to share our experience on platforms like the Better Business Bureau and Trustpilot to ensure that potential customers are aware of the level of service they might encounter. It is unfortunate that a single employee's attitude can tarnish a company's reputation, and I hope they take this feedback seriously to prevent others from facing similar issues in the future.
They keep doing maintenance on pnline…
They keep doing maintenance on pnline banking again. Now I have no access to pay my rent and bills. They were no help when called and acted like it was nothing. Not caring that they are messing up people's lives. So now I have 3 nsf payments that go against me and now late on rent because of them. This is not ok and this can not keep going on. Looking at another bank to switch to because this is unacceptable
Terrible Customer support and service…
Terrible Customer support and service in my experience.
Fraudulent Company
Scotiabank as a whole is an unreliable place to keep your money. The tellers/customer service agents are incompetent and money will disappear from your account without a trace. Had a few dollars disappear from my account within SECONDS and my statement doesn’t show any evidence of where it could have gone. Thankfully I took screenshots, but for these reasons I no longer keep or use this account. I’d say avoid this company at all costs. If they can steal dollars they can steal thousands.
