ROOTS

I joined Roots a couple of years ago and love the support that is shared by everyone, not just the staff but the other plot holders too. Spud and Nad are always there for all with their amazing advice and support. The workshops are very informative and useful. I love getting my seed packs, its like Christmas.

Love the whole concept of Roots. Learning how to grow no dig, organic gardening in a community space. Great for experienced growers and beginners. Well worth it just for the seeds and tools they provide. Friendly helpful advice from Katherine our site manager at Newbottle fields always happy to help. Highly recommend roots.

Newbottle Fields

Site at Newbottle Fields is coming along nicely. We are enjoying our first growing season and looking forward to some exciting harvests. Catherine is very helpful and knowledgeable, love the tool shed and all the equipment we can use. Seed packs and plugs are very exciting. Lots of events, which is nice to meet people and it has a very supportive WhatsApp group.

The plot and sense of community is really special

We are entering our third year at Roots Allotments in Bath, and really enjoying it. The plot and the sense of community makes it really special. As new growers, we’ve learned so much thanks to our neighbours and the patch manager. Plus the website, emails, and WhatsApp group is informative and makes it so easy to keep up with everything happening.

Just Great !

We joined Daffodil allotments in chester at the beginning of the year, completely new to growing. Ive found the support and advice available on the members site, from other growers on the allotment and from the Dave, the patch manager so helpful. The plots are perfect, and the other perks of seeds, seedlings, and all the tools you need are great. Beats years on the council allotment waiting list!

My happy place

Signing up for our Roots plot at Patching Meadows, Worthing was the best thing we did last year. We are completely new to this, one plot quickly became two. We've found an amazing community and it's truly a joy to be part of. 6 months in, it's become my happy place and I'm loving learning to grow in such a supportive and inspiring environment. Learning lots and so loving tending our plots. Staff are brilliant. Couldn't recommend more highly.

We love our new allotment

We love our new allotment. This is our first year so we are hoping to get something out of it but we'll see. The fact you get all the tools you need there at site to use is a massive bonus as well seeds, soil and a really lovely set of people is the icing on the cake

Best therapy and get away!

I've been a member for almost a year and a half and I would recommend this place. Reasons; it gives you peace of mind, satisfaction, people on the allotment are friendly. The group chat is so useful with ideas, support and sharing experiences. I love coming here as a teacher it's my therapy. Two other members of my family are also here for the same reason.

I love my allotment patch at Roots

I love my allotment patch at Roots. I have ADHD so need time when out of work and out of the house to be in a peaceful environment. I spend hours on a saturday ay the allotment. I feel safe here, the community is lovely. Dave The patch manager is a great support as I have no idea what I am doing. For such a small cost the rewards in the mind and also in produce is huge for me. Of course improvements have been suggested for this new plot in Chester, but no concerns from me. It's been life changing and I look forward to my time on the allotment that I call my own!

Organic veggies for all, newbie or experienced!

It's been an amazing couple of years that we've had our allotment patch with Roots at Meadow Hill.
Before we thought we couldn't grow anything, and now we happily harvest and eat our own delicious organic produce.

Roots provided us with many seeds and plug plants, compost, woodchip, manure and expertise.

If you are a complete novice or an experienced gardener, I'm sure you'll love growing your own food with the Roots community

Amazing experience

Friendly, approachable and knowledgeable helpful and very kind staff.
Environmental and community focus.
Educational. Great value for money with workshops, seeds and plug plants and tools etc included. I love that we share crops with local charity. The tree nursery to help nurture the local environment and wild flowers to help wildlife, which there certainly is an increase in over the years. I see much more diversity since Roots arrived from when I used to walk in the field.I have been with Roots
since the very beginning and I am looking forward to many more happy years together.

A different allotment experience at Roots

A different allotment experience with tools on site, different sized plots to suit all. Seeds and plug plants are provided and theres a great community spirit focussing on a positive and healthy environment. Lessons in person and online with added activities such as bird feeder making - for kids of all ages. Very supportive for new growers like myself.

I so love my plot

I so love my plot! Managers so helpful, all the tools I need, loads of seeds included in my subscription. I've met some lovely people and everyone is full of ideas. Having waited on the council list for years I got a plot immediately with Roots and now have potatoes, broad beans, radishes, carrots and peas growing 💗 The tipi goes up soon and it will add to the community feel. Nothing negative from me :)
