Went on to meerkat for car insurance on my new car which I pick up today , and the best deal was out there was from NUTSHELL insurance , very easy to navigate and pay , all done in 5 minutes and all relevant paperwork sent by email .

Customer service is a farce. Avoid at all costs
Customer service is a farce. Told us due to an error they were going to cancel our car insurance giving us a few days to rectify. We emailed them and explained the apparent error and tried to contact via phone when we had no response to our email, but kept getting cut off. We then got a message saying the car insurance was cancelled as we had not made any attempt to contact them!!! They've taken a years car insurance off us with no indication if they are going to pay any of it back.

I’m only giving 4 stars because going through the on line forms when you get to payments it kept on taking me to virtual advisor this happened 5 or 6 times. Eventually I cancelled everything and started over only to go through it all again TWICE. I nearly didn’t bother and was going to go with another insurer but I gave it one more chance and this time it all worked as it should.

The online process was straight forward enough some confusion when adding penalty points however.Add the details then you have to apply the conviction too.
Comparable to some other companies on price but also loved the name not one I will forget.Insurance covered in a you guessed it _ a Nutshell.Hope the website is as easy to navigate. Always worth trying a new company for another quote as beat my existing one by over 180 a year.

Diabolical. Impossible to contact. Paid 13 days ago for a new car insurance and recovery policy. To date nothing received whatsoever in the way of email confirmation or otherwise, though they took my payment. Have emailed and used on line chat to no avail. I want my certificate of insurance and schedule. Their website does not work. It does not recognise the email I registered with, it does not recognise my policy number (which I fortunately obtained during a needlessly protracted chat), it does not recognise my name. PLEASE AVOID. I have a 14 day cooling off period so will be taking this up with my credit card company at the end of today, if I have not heard from these scammers. I wish I had looked at Trustpilot BEFORE I purchased.

Out of the blue I received a letter…
Out of the blue I received a letter telling me that insurance was cancelled which confused me because I have not got a policy with them at all and never had
In fact I had never heard of this company
This caused a great deal of stress because either there has been a breach in gdpr or someone has fraudulently used my details to get car insurance
No number to call except claims line so out of desperation I tried it..they told me to use live chat but you can’t do that if you haven’t got an account
Eventually the claims line gave me an email address which I used and took a pic of the letter and sent it with the email
Not even acknowledged said email
Next step would be a call to the police in case my details have been used fraudulently

It’s also frustrating when you try to get help and can’t reach anyone. Being passed from a claims line to live chat, and then having your email go unanswered, isn’t the experience you should have had.

Renewal time come around and thought id see if i could improve the price £250 ish
Moneysupermarket turned up nutshell insure the same excess and no claims protection in the price and it was a 40% cheaper
went to the nutshell site checked my cover and start date and sorted
