Review summary

Created with AI, based on recent reviews

Looking at 88 reviews, most reviewers were let down by their experience overall. Consumers frequently struggle with the artificial intelligence, noting it often ignores prompts, creates distorted images, and fails to handle basic details correctly despite trying for hours. Many people also expressed deep frustration over subscription costs, unhelpful support, and restrictive moderation policies that unnecessarily censor normal everyday creative requests. However, some customers also noted that the platform has a unique ability to bring wild creative concepts to life and produce occasional truly amazing artworks. Many others also noted that newer web formats, dashboard features, and motion updates make it much easier to experiment with different styles.

Even with the help of AI I never get the result I really wanted. Often completely distorted or not doing what I prompted. Trying simple designs for hours and days, questioning my own intelligence until I found the reviews - turns out it‘s not just me….. so frustrating!!! No fun at all!

one of the worst ai image generators I…

one of the worst ai image generators I have used and its clear any positive ones saying how great it is are all sponsored or bots from this company. It has zero consistency regardless of the useless features provided to help with that , it has no understanding of what you want and proceeds to generate what you tell it not to , genuinely one of the most infuriating worst built pieces of s**t software I have touched in a long time and im just annoyed i wasted money on it , its been out long enough for them to improve it by now but they dont , wont be touching this software ever again!!! 1 star review because that's the lowest i can go.

I cancelled my subscription

I cancelled my subscription. The quality is very poor. It doesn't follow prompt instructions. It produces random, unwanted fantasies instead of what is actually needed. It distorts the image rather than executing the task. It doesn't get it right even after ten rounds of refinement. A complete waste of money, nerves, and time.

Blocked After Renewal With No Clear Explanation or Proper Support

Extremely disappointing experience with Midjourney.

I had two accounts renewed, and both accounts were subsequently blocked. The timing is extremely frustrating, especially because I had just paid/renewed my subscriptions and then lost access to the service.

My accounts were suddenly blocked with a message claiming that I had accessed Midjourney through automation, scripting, third-party tools, or account sharing. However, I was not given any specific evidence, activity, prompt, or explanation showing what supposedly triggered the block.

The biggest problem is the lack of transparency. If a paying customer is being seriously restricted, they deserve to know exactly what they supposedly did wrong. A vague list of possible violations is not a proper explanation.

I submitted appeals through the provided appeal process, but I still have not received a meaningful response or clear confirmation that my appeals were properly reviewed.

And regarding the money I paid after renewing the subscriptions, refund is not even the main issue at this point—the fact that I cannot get a clear response from support is the bigger problem. I paid for the service, access was then blocked, and I am still waiting for an explanation.

I am not asking for special treatment. I am asking for transparency, a proper manual review, and a clear response. If there was a genuine violation, explain specifically what happened. If the block was a mistake, please remove it and restore access.

Midjourney is a paid service, and customers should be able to expect reasonable communication and support when their accounts are blocked.

Please explain the specific reason for the blocks, properly review the appeals, and provide a clear response regarding both the account access and the payments made.

Absolutely horrific "customer support" team

Midjourney is not even the best ai art generator anymore, and I'm so glad they've fallen because their "customer support" is an absolute joke. I've never been treated so horribly by "customer support" by any company Ive ever dealt with. The mods in their support forum aren't just unhelpful, their mods are rude and snarky. They will gaslight you, insult you and threaten you. When I reached out to them about a payment issue and information on their dashboard that was incorrect on their end, the mod threatened to ban me from ever using MJ again. And I had tons of other negative interactions with them. Just use adobe firefly or chatgpt for art generation--it's cheaper and more consistent.

Service wasn’t for me, but respect for how they handle cancellations

Midjourney’s service didn’t end up being the right fit for me personally — the output just wasn’t what I was looking for. That’s a subjective call on my part, not really a knock on the product itself.

What I do want to call out is the cancellation and refund process. No hunting for a hidden “cancel” page buried three menus deep, no forced support ticket just to stop paying. I cancelled easily and got refunded without a fight. In an era where half of SaaS companies treat cancellation like a hostage negotiation, that’s worth recognizing.

Service didn’t work for me, but Midjourney handled the exit like a company that respects its customers. Credit where it’s due

be becarefull

Be careful before subscribing. The credits run out very quickly, and you're constantly pushed to spend more money. Even after I cancelled my subscription, I was still charged. The cancellation button didn't work properly, and two days after cancelling, another **€33.20** was taken from my card without any explanation. I had to cancel my bank card because of these unauthorized charges. My experience has been very disappointing. Please be careful.

I have been using MJ for the past four…

I have been using MJ for the past four years. I am an AI film artist. I’m a super user.

MJ has forgotten about its users. This is all too evident in the frequent release of models that are quite frankly no better than 6.1.

But the biggest issue with regards to this company is their arrogance. The level of service from this company is non-existent. If you have a problem with anything don’t write to them because they will never reply.

On discord their service and support is staffed by people who say that they are volunteering for God sake! this is a multimillion dollar company. More often than not I’ve had runs ins on discord with extremely stroppy mods this is not the way to run a company. I am always really polite and they are short, arrogant and always come across that they resent what they do.

A few days ago I cancelled my subscription and I now use nano and grok which I find to be a far better platform all round. Midjourney nowadays is ineffective it’s bot is deaf and it’s lost all direction which is absolutely personified by announcement ref medical scanners. Perhaps they should just close down the art side and stay with that.
MJ either support your users or make it free.

I was one of the first users of…

I was one of the first users of midjourney and was always hyped for its growth but lately it has become a disappointment. Devs don't listen to user suggestions, I keep on prompting and my tokens keep on wasting but never gotten a good image output. I would say that midjourney just couldn't compete with the the latest image generation tools and got left especially due to the difference in the cost of their monthly subscription.

Generating images you wanted has…

Generating images you wanted has improved a lot. Midjourney sometimes fails to create images for no apparent reason. There is no help except a useless chatbot. It is still very imperfect creating hands and feet, understanding what you want in Edit, and adding content with Zoom and pan

Absolutely useless

Absolutely useless. Paying for the video generator is a huge mistake. Try to upload a character or a scene to generate a clip - not a chance. Perfectly designed photos are rejected without any explanation. The only thing it allows usage for is short 5-seconds clips that cant be used for any montage.
Waste of money.

Too expensive for so much frustration

I've been using midjourney for more than three years (massively) and it has always been very frustrating. The developpers never listen to the users and the moderation policy has reached a ridiculous point. A lot of other AI improve their features very fast but not midjourney.

In the same time, I've used a chatgpt free account and I can now create a fantasy character in a few minutes wheareas midjourney requires hundreds of attemps, days of relentless and frustrating attemps!

When my subscription is over, I'm done with midjourney. It's so lame.

Amazing quality artworks

Amazing quality artworks, but we need a way for long prompts to be used for V8, a toggle would be nice for long prompts to be accepted, also it would be nice with some kind of age verification to get nsfw prompts, I'm trying to make some soldiers for some military and the ai moderator is denying it because of some keywords like "absurdly muscular" and " intimidating" and that really is a problem, we need to be able to design operators and weapons with these tools in a perfect way, please work on it,other than that it's perfect!!

I like experimenting with Midjourney using short prompts. Today I used 'Aotearoa' which is the Maori name of New Zealand and was pleasantly surprised to get four landscape images that could be of New Zealand, one of which included a Maori sculpture of an eagle - Magic

Been using midjourney for over 3 years now. It's great, it can bring to life my craziest concepts. Prompting here is a bit different than other Ai's, so you gotta learn first. Animation option still a bit limited but Ive done a few ad Reels with mj clips and real life clips and they look fine.
