I’ve done many courses, time again I never felt that valued as a student, I was just a number and a monetary value on their books. But Kate is different, she has a very natural ability to implement her teaching whilst making you feel worthy of your space as a student. Not only was this experience on the Talk Skin Method in person everything I hoped for but it opened up my mind as a therapist to details I didn’t realise I needed. I tred cautiously when I buy into training, but Kate gave me the ‘hug’ I needed and the guide I’d longed for. Where do I start! I have had two wonderful deep dive sessions with Kate. Before my first call I knew I'd have to share with her all the things I had been feeling, overwhelmed, confused and exhausted. Kate let me talk and she listened, most importantly she never made me feel like I'd done something wrong and she never judged or told me I'd made mistakes. We unpicked my business, tapped into what I actually wanted to do and began to build a solid foundation. I’ve just completed two days of training with Kate at Talk Skin Academy and I honestly can’t recommend her highly enough.

From the moment I arrived, everything was considered. The academy itself is beautiful, calm and thoughtfully designed. Breakfast, coffee and croissants waiting for us. A generous ‘grazing board’ style lunch with fresh salads, quiche, cheeses, cold meats and dips. A fridge stocked with water and drinks that we could help ourselves to throughout the day. It immediately set the tone. You felt looked after, welcomed and able to fully settle in.

The training itself was exceptional. Kate’s knowledge is incredibly in depth, but what really stands out is how she teaches with intention. Every movement, every technique, every point of contact has purpose. It isn’t rushed or forced. It’s about understanding the why, refining your touch, and truly supporting the nervous system so your client can deeply relax and let go.

The group was small, just four of us, which made the experience feel very intimate and personalised. Kate was endlessly supportive, patient and encouraging. She took the time to watch, demonstrate, guide and help each of us refine our technique, always making sure we felt comfortable and confident. The pace was perfect. We took breaks when we needed them. There was never pressure, only care.

This training has genuinely elevated my work. It’s reminded me how powerful intentional, hands on facials can be when it’s taught properly and delivered with presence.

You aren’t just learning a facial. It’s a method to deliver any facial experience, whether you are offering a basic cleansing facial, microneedling, peels, caci etc. you can embody the method into those, so if you’re offering the same treatments as five others in your area, this course will show you how to deliver those treatments in a way that you are heads and shoulders above those in your area (and likely the areas surrounding too).

The way Kate delivers the course, you don’t just leave with knowledge, you leave with confidence. I’d say she is in the rare 1% of educators that cares enough to pass on her knowledge in such an exceptional way. You’ll know where to put your hand in every movement to make your client melt; understand how to raise your standards to the top in an accessible way; know it to a deep level cause you’ve experienced it as you’ve learned it… my list could go on. For me, the confidence that came from now having that knowledge is something I can’t place a value on.

Back in the salon (it’s been about 3 weeks since the course), I still feel confident, I stopped getting the fear that comes with a new client; I don’t think I’ve had a single client not comment on how amazing the facial was since using the method; and I’ve seen more word of mouth referrals than before from clients who’ve experienced the method.

Doing this course feels a bit like the facialist equivalent of when Luke Skywaker goes to train with Yoda, or Neo with Morpheus. Because of Kate’s intelligence & sheer experience, it’s like you’ve been endowed with the wisdom of all the facial ancestors.

As someone who hasn’t practiced anything beauty related for 15 years I was apprehensive about joining. From the moment we arrived Kate was warm and encouraging, her passion for what she does is contagious and truly inspiring. I had a wonderful 2 days and the other ladies on the group were so lovely too which just added to the experience.
Aside from the brilliant in-person experience, what I really love is the continued support via the online training modules.
