It’s was really easy to book the van. Easy to pick up and drop off. It was really cost effective. Will definitely be hiring again for our next trip
Easy to deal with, hassle free booking, collection and return. Van was clean and well maintained
The vehicle was great for the camping trip, everything worked well, the drive was comfortable and easy. The cabin was easy to function, cosy and had everything I needed to make my camping trip a great one.
We had such a great time. The bed was comfy and the van was clean. The customer service doesn't work very good (we tried calling in a few times to book the van in first place), but okce there the pick up and drop off experience was excellent.
Helpful people. Vehicle was the cheapest but so far reliable. Fridge not doing it's job best to buy ice packs. Friendly service.
How easy it was. Customer service from Jim was outstanding. Getting into christchurch it was that easy to pick up and drop off and shuttle to the airport. Def will book again
Friendliness..ease at pick up..being remembered from last time..any negative would be how long to have the insurance money refunded back into mu account..
Very good, we hired a campervan for a week and everything was good. Good introduction at the pickup. We were also late for the dropping in Sydney cause we got lost in the traffic but the staff there was very understanding and service minded. I would love to rent from jucy again some time :)
Easy check in, good friendly staff. Make sure you check gas stove before leaving in case cartridges are empty like ours were but we just got more from a hardware worked. Also get your own dish liquid as they don't provide this.
This was my second time using Jucy, I love the community feel every time you pass another green machine every one waves, flashes their lights and smiles!
We named our girl “Lucy Jucy” we were very comfortable and felt safe touring the South Island of New Zealand “ Best trip ever! “
I highly recommend Jucy they’re in Australia and New Zealand and have multiple drop off and pickup points. So convenient and easy to use. I called Jucy as I thought my fridge wasn’t working, the lady was awesome and guided me through the process ( I needed to turn it on with the key pad on the van wall) it’s so neat that you don’t really need to plug in all the time either. Just take your own plug for the cigarette lighter, to charge your devices whilst travelling, the fridge and lights work on batteries powered by solar. #ilovemyjucygirl!
Perfect van for a music festival. Beats setting up a tent. Drive in, unpack and party. The fridge and gas burner make camp meals super easy!
It was the most nice an easy way to rent a camper van in Australia
Great staff and booking process. The vehicule had everything and was in good state.
JUCY NZ was absolutely amazing! I rented a Suzuki Swift for 10 days and did a road trip from Queenstown to Christchurch, and the whole experience was fantastic.
From start to finish, the process was incredibly easy. The staff were friendly, helpful and provided outstanding service. The car was spotless when I picked it up, came with a full tank of fuel, and was surprisingly comfortable and very fuel-efficient — perfect for exploring the South Island.
Everything was straightforward and hassle-free, which made the road trip even more enjoyable. I’d definitely use JUCY again and highly recommend them to anyone looking to hire a car in New Zealand!
Van was very uncomfortable for sleeping. Awkward to make up my bed everyday and was not comfortable to sleep on. Had to pay big $s for extras like snow chains, and heater.
Staff at checkin was lovely although did have to wait for about 3/4 hour for my van to be ready.
The van was clean, comfortable and reliable. The equipment was all in good working order and most importantly the bed was comfortable. Also picking up and dropping off the van was seamless.
⚠️ THINK TWICE BEFORE RENTING FROM JUCY IF YOU VALUE YOUR HOLIDAY OR YOUR SAFETY.
Our experience with JUCY has been completely unacceptable.
Our vehicle suffered a serious mechanical failure during our road trip and we were stranded for approximately two days. An emergency mechanic identified the problem within minutes: all four relevant components were cracked/damaged, including one that had completely failed. This raises serious questions about how thoroughly the vehicle was inspected and maintained before being handed over to customers.
Despite paying around $35 per day for additional protection, when the breakdown happened over the weekend, we were essentially left to deal with the situation ourselves. We were told that assistance was “closed”, and two of our calls ended with staff hanging up while we were simply trying to get help.
JUCY also required us to advance approximately $1,500 for the emergency repair, while the mechanic spent his entire Sunday searching for the correct parts so that we could finally get back on the road.
The $1,500 was eventually reimbursed, but only after we had been forced to advance the money ourselves and deal with an emergency that was not our responsibility.
Unfortunately, the breakdown was not the end of the problems. We have continued to experience various issues with the vehicle throughout our journey, while JUCY has failed to provide the level of support and reliability we expected.
To this day, we have received no other compensation for the consequences of this breakdown: the two days we were stranded, the protection fees paid during that period, additional accommodation/campsite costs, excessive fuel consumption, and the significant disruption caused to our road trip.
What is particularly concerning is that this happened during a long Australian road trip, where vehicle reliability is obviously essential. A rental company should ensure that its vehicles are properly inspected and safe BEFORE handing them over to customers.
We have remained patient, polite and cooperative throughout this entire situation. But after losing days of our holiday, being stranded and having to deal with a serious mechanical failure ourselves, we are still waiting for JUCY to properly address the consequences of what happened.
Think very carefully before renting from JUCY. Our experience has been extremely disappointing, and we would not recommend relying on JUCY for an important road trip unless you are prepared to deal with potentially serious problems yourself.
Our legal representative is now aware of the situation, and we will continue pursuing the reimbursement and compensation that remain outstanding.
JUCY: reimbursing a repair bill does not make the rest of the consequences disappear when your customers have lost two days of their trip, paid for additional protection and incurred extra costs because of a mechanical failure that should have been prevented.
The man at front of desk was amazing! His humour and his introduction to a training new staff member made the experience for all easy going (I was nervous travelling on my own).
The Van was amazing and you had all that was needed. I thought the fridge was a bonus touch and charging port because of the extra battery especially at a sports tournament. Able to charge phone during the day and collect cold drink and food also. Overall amazing and would definitely hire again! I'm fact a young Mcds worker asked us about it and told him he should take the leap and travel this way. This coming from a 5 star hotel booker. Really humbling experience reminded me of days with my grandparents the way NZ use to be.
Easy pick up and drop off, excellent staff interactions, friendly, trustworthy and never experienced any problems in many hire cars whilst in NZ
