The van was ok but I was charged $200…

The van was ok but I was charged $200 for returning the van on a public holiday without ever being told there was a charge had to call understand to then be told I had been charged twice. Ok you returned $100 for the double charge but I have never agreed or being told I had to pay to return the van on a public holiday. Very poor

Bad experience with Jucy

We had a bad experience with Jucy Crib. The vehicle we rented, with close to 400,000 km, broke down due to an alternator failure, which ruined our last day. The van was clearly neglected—there was even a large spider web in the rearview mirror. Despite paying for the "Stress-Free Plus" package, the experience was far from stress-free.
The mechanic arrived quickly, but we waited three frustrating hours for towing approval, caught in a mess of calls between Jucy, RAA, and the mechanic, with each asking us to coordinate with the others. For a vehicle with such high mileage, breakdowns are predictable, but the poor maintenance and chaotic response made this unacceptable.

We expected better from Jucy (emailed right away to feedbackjucyworld.com but no answer after two weeks)

AVOID. If something goes wrong you're on your own

AVOID
Hired a car from Melbourne to Adelaide for 3 days. Car broke down on the morning of the second day. Only part refunded. No replacement car brought to us. 3hr trip in tow truck back to Melbourne. Took over 10 hours to get back after the initial call in the morning. I did the right thing and reported the issue straight away and for that my trip was ruined.

Horrible Company - AVOID

The 2.5 star reviews seem to prove my point with our recent rental through Juicy / Star RV. What a shame, this company is absolutely disgraceful, and how it's still in operations is beyond me.

This is our 3rd year hiring a vehicle through Star RV/Juicy, and all prior years have had issues with the vehicles. Their depot managers offer no sort of remedy, apologies or even a partial refund for the inconveniences caused... What a disgusting company - there definitely needs to be some sort of ACCC investigation into Star RV and Juicy.

To make a long story short, there was a huge list of issues with our recent hire through them. We picked up our vehicle on Wednesday 5th March, and was suppose to be dropped off on the 12th of March. We started our travels on the 6th of March.

Firstly, we requested an Iveco campervan after the issues we had last year, as advised by their depot staff - which we ensured to confirm via email weeks prior to pickup. When we went to pickup the vehicle, of course they hadn't reserved our Iveco, and gave us, yet again, a Mercedes 6 Berth Campervan.

We had booked our rental MONTHS in advance, at least 6 months prior. They had plenty of time to ensure the vehicle was ready for our collection, and to our surprise, they didn't have a CLEAN vehicle ready for us... How is that possible?

After waiting at the depot for nearly an hour, I had to push them and informed them that I had a Drs appointment scheduled which I urgently needed to attend. After a lot of fluffing around, they finally offered me a vehicle, though advised the exterior was dirty - I happily accepted this offer as I presumed that it was only the exterior that was dirty, as clarified with their depot staff. They did offer me a small refund of $190 (ish), out of our $2200+ rental, and called it a "Dirty Getaway".

To further crunch the crux of the issues: 1. Buckled floors throughout the entire campervan. 2. Toilet cassette broken, the puck that separates the toilet and the interior was broken, meaning the entire campervan smelt of human feces. 3. Gas was leaking, smelt throughout the campervan. 4. Smoke alarm kept going off by itself for no reason, had to uninstall and remove battery. 5. Mold on the pull down window shade adjacent to the sink/above the front bed. 6. No toilet chemicals were provided, even though I clarified this and told them we had issues last year with not being provided toilet chemicals. 7. Fridge stinks like mildew, as if it has never been cleaned out. Even if they just chuck an ozone generator in it for a few hours, that would've fixed it. 8. Called their CS on Saturday at 9am, was told I'd receive a call back, never did. Had to call again today, Monday, demanding a refund.

They are refusing a refund, and keep putting the blame on the customer. I am now at a point where I have to send them a legal notice of intent to proceed with a court hearing through VCAT. It is disgusting it has to get to this point, though again, their low rating proves that this company continues to operate outside of the Australian Consumer Law.

Thay say they have a shuttle bus run from the airport, but no on weekend. We wasted time.
Other than that, no problem so far.

My whole experience was as smooth as it…

My whole experience was as smooth as it gets, only thing is I lost 2 days of rental due to my flight got cancelled and could not pick up the car on the week end after 2pm. Other than that the satff were extremely helpful, car was clean and as expected. Keep the juice flowing!!!!

make sure the waaeco works I had to…

make sure the waaeco works I had to throw away half of my groceries as mine did not work. The USB port on the dahs did not work. The van would not do 110klm on the freeway as it needed a wheel alignment.

Excellent experience

We had an excellent experience renting a camper van for 5 days with Jucy in Melbourne. We must extend a big thank you to Gaby who gave us a big and fantastic van. We had no problems with the vehicle. The staff at Jucy gave us great tips and excellent customer service, which helped us a lot. When we had to catch an onward flight at night, Jucy was adaptable and helped us with the logistics for this. Jucy can really be recommended.

being overcharged

being overcharged. On the last day, I return the vehicle before 9:39am. We are supposed to be charged per 24hr based, however I still get charged for the last day even I have no chance to use it. There is no after hour return service at Melbourne site. Whoever returns vehicle in the morning, i.e. earlier than the time you picked up, will be charged for a full day rental no matter how early you are. Let say you pick up on Thursday 10am and return on next Thursday 9am, you are being charged for 8 days, eventually you only have the vehicle for 7 *24hrs.
It is sad that customer service reviews as no mistaken.
IM41920084 rental agreement #369854 rego 084XFB pickup time 10am28/12/23, returned 9:30am 6/1/24 being charged for 10 days instead of 9*24hrs

they were so sweet and understanding and helped us with any questions we had. since we were 19 and not many other places let younger drivers hire, this company did and took the best care of us. incredible customer service! would hire again :)

The car was rusted and unreliable

The car was old, rusted and ultimately unreliable. The car failed on the road, but fortunately in a metro area. It took all day for Jucy to replace the car. While waiting for the car to be repaired of replaced we were never updated as to expected times and had to spend the day in a parking lot, waiting. Jucy's "compensation" was to refund the cost of car hire for one day - an amount which they were not entitled to anyway since the car was not serviceable for that day - this is not "compensation" for losing an entire day of a hard earned holiday. If they are going to provide old, worn cars, they should warn the customer at the time of hiring online, so that the customer knows what to expect.
