IKEA - Palma

I ordered 2 PAX wardrobes from IKEA Palma on 16th July 2020 and was informed all the products were not available. This was not a problem as we were going back to UK for a month. The date set for delivery and assembly was 19th Aug. On arrival in Mallorca I contacted the store and was informed all was ok for the 19th. Nothing arrived on the 19th and I was unable to contact the store by phone as it just repeated all options and went no further. I visited the staore and confirmed a second delivery for the 25th. Nothing arrived. I went back to the store and they could not give me an answer, so a third date of 27th was set. This was confirmed by a phone call informing us the delivery would be between 3-5pm. Guess what nothing. I went to the store and after many phone calls and waiting, they managed to get the wardrobes delivered at 7pm. We are having 2 hours of assembly this evening and hopefully completed tomorrow morning.
IKEA have no customer care after they take your money!!!

One star is too kind!

In common with the vast majority of reviewers of IKEA Spain one star is a compliment.

Ordered several items for our new home, Havasta unit was completely wrong, different/too many doors, incorrect shelving. After waiting 40 minutes to contact customer service, the representative insisted we were incorrect, they had sent out the right item and our eyes were obviously deceiving us.

Klasen outdoor kitchen we ordered and paid extra for stainless steel surfaces, IKEA sent standard wooden ones.

The only thing they got right was some simple Malma bedside cabinets, which they couldn't really mess up.

Awful delivery, even worse after sales customer care, we will be complaining and returning the Havasta unit. We will see how IKEA responds, but extremely unlikely we will ever purchase from this company again.

Replacement feet for 'Hyllis' shelf unit.

I needed replacement feet for the excellent and cheap 'hyllis' shelf unit. Ending up at Customer Service, there was a very long wait but it was worth it. Their department had the spare parts sent to me within days and I didn't have to pay a penny for them.

The worst delivery service and assembly ever

This was the worst delivery service ever. Two delivery men came into my house with masks. I had to give them each one. I paid 65 euros to pit a bed together. They put the outer frame which took ten minutes and left the inner bed structure and the mattress in boxers and bags and walked out. We are three in our 70’s and have no way to finish the job. This is just horrible .. I will never use IKEA again

I spent thousands of euros purchasing…

I spent thousands of euros purchasing an IKEA kitchen in November 2019 including electrical appliances. After 2 months the dishwasher door was sticking so the person that installed the kitchen came promptly to identify the problem. One of the screws attaching the door to the dishwasher had broken in half and had fallen inside the dishwasher door. He did not want to void the warranty by taking the door off himself to retrieve the broken screen so advised me to contact Ikea After Service to organise for an engineer to come and fix the problem. Six months have now passed and despite a constant barrage of phone calls, emails and visits to the store I still have not been contacted to organise the engineer to visit and my dishwasher still does not ha e the door on it which is very inconvenient. I am absolutely appalled by the after service of IKEA and would strongly advise anyone considering purchasing an IKEA kitchen to look elsewhere.

Ordered items for in store collection

Ordered items for in store collection 2 days before I left the UK. Received notification 6 days later to collect. When I arrived an item was missing. Advised to return the next day but the missing item had still not arrived. Now back in the UK 11 days after ordering still no notification. Sent 15 complaints and 23 requests for customers service to advise but nothing.

Do not buy from them - you won't ever see the good delivered

I'd give a big fat ZERO but one star is by default. Like many others on here, I ordered from Ikea in Spain not even thinking to check the reviews because it's a global company. I wholeheartedly regret it. I ordered my furniture in the physical store in Valencia. Paid for delivery and assembly. The delivery never came. I called the terrible customer service. After 1 hr 40 min waiting on hold being caller #189 I finally got to speak to an agent who told me my address doesn't exist. Of course it does and I confirmed the address listed was correct. the order was rescheduled for 2 days later. And it didn't arrive again. No phone call. No contact from customer service. No response when calling. Now I am convinced it will never come after reading these reviews . I'm going to the store in person tomorrow and will not leave until I have full refund in my hand. This is not just bad customer service. This is theft it's criminal. I will never ever again ever buy from IKEA in any country. This company doesn't deserve to be getting any business. Please do yourself a favor and do NOT purchase from them if you need delivery or think you'll need customer service.

I'll also be filing a complaint with EU consumer rights division against Ikea and demand a full refund.

IKEA Malaga is an unprofessional organization.

This is the second time I have reviewed IKEA and I was really hoping I could give them a good one, but things are getting worse in IKEA Malaga store not better. They cancelled three orders placed by my husband in March 2020 without giving us notice and refunded the wrong amount of money to us leaving us short. I have been trying to contact a customer service person for months but cannot succeed because either the phones are not in service or the queues of people waiting for a customer service agent to answer is too large. For example, today when I called, I was number 180 in the queue. A few days ago, I was 108 in the queue. My husband and I are a retired couple and live in Ireland and are trying to furnish our apartment in Marbella since last March when we placed the four orders. The most frustrating thing is not the delays but the total lack of communication with us and not knowing when we will receive our goods. It is beyond belief that management in IKEA Malaga have not figured out since last March what they need to do to cope with the volume of calls they are getting and to treat customers the way they have been treating us is totally unacceptable and unprofessional. I cannot count the lost hours out of our lives trying to contact IKEA. They ask you to contact Customer Service on 00 34 900400922 but you just cannot get to talk to anyone. When you send emails, they ignore you and send you an automatic response to contact Customer Service. Why are they taking orders online and taking 100% of the money up front if they cannot service their customers who are waiting months to receive the goods they have paid for? This is all basic management stuff so why don’t their managers do something about the problems. Surely, they do not want customers on the phone for hours while they wait in line while 180 customers in front of them are being dealt with. Surely, they know they need more customer service staff on the phones answering calls. It is not rocket science. Looking at other comments from frustrated customers we are not alone, and it is surprising that a company like IKEA would allow a Branch of theirs to treat their customers like this. How much lost business will result from this? They probably do not care. I will not be dealing with IKEA in the future. They do not deserve to be dealing with the public at all and probably think they are too big to have to take customer service seriously. They probably believe they can do as they like because they have no competition in the market and people have no choice but to purchase from their store. If IKEA read this please check your records for an Irish customer named Declan who is waiting on two orders, one placed on the 3rd March 2020 and another on the 14th July 2020 and today just a day after placing an order you sent us this email "Due to the exceptional circumstances over the past few months, it is possible that some orders may be delayed. We’re working hard to solve this and ensure you get your order as soon as possible. We apologise for any inconvenience and thank you for your patience, understanding and trust in IKEA.". Stop taking orders and getting customers to pay for goods up front if you cannot deliver on the appointed dates. Get professional please.

I've made orders from IKEA in different…

I've made orders from IKEA in different countries, and will never order from any of them again, due to the experience with IKEA Spain.

IKEA Spain will quote a shipping time for your order (and charge 40 euros for delivery at all). They quoted me 1.5 months.
IKEA Spain will charge you the full amount of the order when the order is placed (this is not normal for many of the largest e-commerce companies, who charge upon item delivery).
This shipping date will come and go, with no delivery, and no notification of any sort from them.
They won't respond to emails.
So you will call them when your order fails to appear, spending ages on hold.
Their customer service agents will outright LIE about where your order is in their process, just to get through as many calls as possible, saying it will arrive within 3 days.
When that time comes and goes, and no order appears, and no contact from IKEA, you call again.
The same thing will happen again, where they just say, "We don't know, just keep waiting, maybe a few more days."
They will fail to offer any solutions. Fail to compensate you for services you paid for (like the shipping cost) but did not receive. Fail to make any good faith efforts to show any care for any customer.
Their customer service people are not enabled to fix any issues stemming from completely inept operations and management.

More than two months after paying for my order, I am still waiting for it. IKEA Spain is a joke that's making a lot of money taking advantage of people. It makes Spain look bad and tells the world that Spaniards are lazy, have no work ethic, and no professionalism.

Great Service

I ordered garden furniture for delivery. It arrived on the day they said they would deliver and in the time slot. I am not use to this in Spain! All the pieces were there and all in good condition, so I cannot fault them

Disgusting customer service!!

Disgusting customer service!!

Spent a lot of money in August on various garden furniture, indoor furniture, etc. First time I have ever shopped in an IKEA.

The garden bench we had bought and barely had been used cracked when 2 people sat on it. It can clearly be seen that there is a weakness in the wood as it cracked in exactly the place where the factory screw had been placed.

Complained to IKEA who came out to view it and then went back to the office to report to us that there was no fault with the item but that there had been too much weight in their opinion! This is a bench for 2 adults and the 2 adults that sat on it were far from over weight.

The bench is not fit for purpose in that case! I have disputed it and have been ignored.

We were looking to buy a kitchen from the store along with other items, but this is the first and last time I ever shop at IKEA.

AVOID IF YOU EVER NEED CUSTOMER SERVICE!!

Some nice things from IKEA (ES), well priced too, but it all comes with non existent service. For starters, my order came 24 hours after I had taken a day off work for it's promised delivery...

Try to avoid at all costs the "After Sales Department". It's not clear what they do here, but for sure it isn't engage with customers (I say this after more than one month of trying!)...

If you can, involve your bank or credit card company for resolution. I have had to go this way with Barclaycard for a very small problem (a rip in a cover seam that I maght have had sown up for about €15!) which of course escalates when no one attends or engages the customer at all.

SHOCKINGLY BAD AND UTTERLY INCOMPETENT!!!

Ordered furniture online and cancelled…

Ordered furniture online and cancelled within the 24 hours, was not told I would not receive refund of service fee 69 euros. I was given a refund of the order. I complained to Ikea and was told they would not refund the service fee of 69 euros. Considering they did not deliver and the order was cancelled. Not happy having just lost 69 euros. When I complained their answer was very short and a non reply email so I cannot reply. Be warned of this company when buying online.

Unacceptable customer service

On July 5, 2019, I have entered into bilateral agreement between Ikea Burbank and myself, where I purchased Ikea kitchen and Ikea custom counter top (ID#195425).
The kitchen design, all the calculations and all the installation services were done via Ikea Kitchen design.
On July 5, 2019, I paid in full for the kitchen and counter top, was given terms and conditions for the installation, and was promised and smooth and flawless transaction.
I followed all the conditions precisely, according to the sign agreement. My kitchen was from scratch, in the color chosen which matched the chosen countertop. Nothing extra was purchased.
On September 13, 2019 my kitchen was installed, using suggested Ikea Traemond service installer and on September 14, 2019, Ikea designated Service provider was scheduled to perform the template fabrication and installation of the countertop. During the appointment, the installer informed me that this color is very popular and he believes that it may be shortage of this specific color. However, knowing that I purchased the piece over 2 month ago, signed the agreement and fully paid for the kitchen, I had no doubt that the piece that I had buy should be available to be installed.
I had been informed at the time of purchase on July 5, 2019 that it takes approximately 2 weeks for the countertop to be ready, and knowing that, I relay to the installer that I will schedule installation 3 weeks from September 14, 2019. Installation was scheduled for October 7.
On October 7, the installers did not show up. I contacted and was informed that the material is not available and I have a choice of either cancel the whole project or pick another color.
My numerous phone conversations with Ikea representative, did not resolve the situation. I spoke with Lucy, Elias, Kendra (ext 1907), left messages for Bryan (ext 1904). All the questions were left unanswered, the only options I was offered by Lucy was to cancel the agreement. My conversation with Kendra was ended at the point where she promised me to escalate my issue and return my phone call which never happened.
On October 8, 2019, after I got in touch with the stone provider, I was told that the earliest the counter possibly can be installed is November 15, 2019 and again the solution to my situation was to cancel the contract or change the color.
Neither one is acceptable. My kitchen color was chosen around the countertop and everything else was matching the overall design.
Ikea violated bilateral agreement. As a consumer, I put my trust into the company with the home project, and in return, Ikea did not deliver, something that should have been done and had plenty of time to replenish, something that was sold to me and paid in full 2 months in advance.
The unit that I was building, is a rental addition, and because of Ikea negligence, caused me to lose over a month of rent.
I hold Ikea full responsible for the violation of the bilateral contract, collection full payment, and failing to deliver, according to the purchase contract.
Please advise.

Ikea Malaga... unbelievably bad service.

Unfortunately we only saw these reviews after our own terrible experience with Ikea Malaga. We ordered several beds, sofas, garden furniture and the entire contents for a new home and despite the size of the order met with nothing but disinterest and atrocious service. The delivery failed to arrive and when chased we were given a date two days later. We then visited the store only to find that this date was also a complete fabrication. Several items were out of stock and we resorted to cancelling the order and re purchasing, in desperation, by shuffling several trollies around the store. When the order was eventually delivered , the delivery firm refused to carry beds and mattresses upstairs. The staff simply dont care. We would strongly recommend not ordering from Ikea Malaga !

Dont buy large items from IKEA!

Same story for us. Terrible experience with the transport company (are they IKEA?) which started with a one hour wait to arrange the delivery in the store.
Failed to arrive on 1st appointment and they made a 2nd appointment which never happened and no contact.
Made a 3rd appointment (now one week later) and this time they brought only one of the twin beds we ordered. Another hour wasted on the phone. Now got a 4th date for delivery of the matching twin bed....how do we make a formal complaint aginst a big company like IKEA who appear not to care about this aspect of their business?

IKEA Malaga and Deliveries

There is something seriously wrong with deliveries from Ikea's Malaga store. The sub-contracted transport company appears to decide what it will and will not deliver according to its own profit bottom line so my advice is don't order anything for delivery (€49 standard delivery charge for anywhere in Malaga province) that's too large for their normal "transit" type vans, or for delivery that's too far from Malaga city. If I were the transport company I would be concerned about costs as well, but it's up to the IKEA management to make their corporate offerings work to their customers' benefit and not allow the transport company to dictate to them. We've waited on several occasion for the promised delivery, only to have no such thing happen and to find a pathetic apology on IKEA's website asking us to phone a freephone number in Madrid. The staff there are friendly and well trained but have no authority whatsoever to make things happen: they can merely access an IKEA intranet site that allows them to re-book a failed delivery where, in our case, the same thing happens over and over again: NO DELIVERY!
It really beggars belief that IKEA do not know of the problem and still do nothing about it. What sort of insulated cloud do they live on?
Ostrich mentality I suspect....and I really feel sorry for the excellent sales staff who are let down by their incompetent management.
