The products are good but the customer…

The products are good but the customer service is terrible. They made a mistake in the purchase amount that forced me to pay customs tax

Due to a minor administrative error on our part, an incorrect payment amount was initially requested due to an incorrect customs clearance. We excused ourselfs a lot of times and the excess amount you paid has already been fully refunded since a long time.

As a result, you have not paid more than the correct amount due, and the matter has been resolved. If not so please let us know !

Otherwise, we do not see any legal or personal unfair issue in this matter, as we have fully compensated the amount in question. Therefore, please clarify what further action or resolution you are seeking from us.

Never buy from this Company

I bought a handpan online from HandpanWorld in Munich. The pan was supposed to be delivered within a maximum of four months, but after seven months it still hadn't arrived. I therefore chose to select a different handpan, based on a YouTube video. A completely different handpan was delivered. The handpan I had chosen turned out to no longer be manufactured, but it was still listed on the HandpanWorld website. After a lot of arguing and miscommunication, I was able to return this pan. I wanted my money back—it involved €2,360—but HandpanWorld did not agree to this because the pan I initially ordered was custom-made. I selected a different handpan for the second time, and it was delivered within four weeks. After a few weeks, I had the pan examined by a Dutch handpan company because I suspected something was wrong. It turned out that the pan had been in the HandpanWorld store for a very long time and had often been played by potential customers. As a result, two tones were not pure. After further investigation and contact with the manufacturer, it turned out that this pan had not been manufactured for a very long time. After eight months, emailing at least 30 times due to all the miscommunication and threats of a lawsuit, and reminders I received for pans I had already returned, I was completely fed up. This company has absolutely no idea what they are doing.

Refuse to take responsibility

EDIT: The actual item is really nice.
They did offer €20 refund which I’m happy with. I still think the packaging should have been done much better especially for an international delivery!

The handpan stand is lovely (and expensive) but the packaging is awful! With an International shipment, so that is expensive too,I would have expected a better and more secure packaging but the box came damaged. The item is ok but it has a rough edge where it was exposed. Contacted them and they only offered €25 credit and then they reduced it to €20 when just the postage is already £20.
Not happy at all!!!

thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We are genuinely sorry that your package arrived with visible damage and that this caused disappointment — especially with an international shipment.

As explained in our email correspondence, the handpan stand itself arrived completally undamaged and fully functional!

The issue concerned damage to the outer packaging during transport, which unfortunately lies outside of our direct control and is the responsibility of the shipping provider (DHL). This is also why transport damage claims must formally be handled with the carrier.

That said, we did not want to leave you without support. Even though there was no product defect, we offered a €20 cash refund as a gesture of goodwill. This was chosen deliberately instead of our usual €25 shop voucher, as we understood that a voucher would be of limited use for you in the UK. This refund was therefore a purely voluntary goodwill gesture, not an admission of fault!

We regret that despite our efforts to find a fair and accommodating solution, you remain dissatisfied. We always aim to act responsibly and customer-oriented, even in cases where damage occurs outside our control.

Regarding shipping costs: international shipments to non-EU countries do involve significantly higher postage fees, that is nothing new. We are sorry, if you were not informed about this.

Customer service was fantastic

Customer service at Handpan.World was fantastic. I spoke with them on the phone twice, received warm and professional treatment each time, and got all my questions answered with clear next steps after seeking advice on their extensive handpan range.

The only drawback preventing five stars was the lengthy delivery time from purchase to arrival in Finland, coupled with insufficient updates on the shipment's status and estimated timeline, which felt disappointing for such an expensive purchase. Better tracking and proactive communication would have elevated the experience significantly.

This aside, the outstanding service and selection still make Handpan.World a top recommendation for handpan enthusiasts.
