Hard to get your money out..

As others have commented our daugther is due to turn 18 in 2 days, I contacted our advisor about getting the money out which he informed me could not be done until she turns 18 and she needed to go online and create an account. She has tried to set up and account today but it is saying she cannot do so until she turns 18 which means she will not be able to access the money as soon as she turns 18. Our youngest is 16 so I have reduced the payments down to a minimum and will pay into a seperate ISA with easier access instead.

So hard to retrieve child trust fund

My daughter turned 18years in August 2025 It’s now october 2025. They requested for passport and HMRC letter which she sent off but they have gone quiet. We have requested that she brings all the evidence in person to verify but they haven’t responded. I didn’t know it would be so hard to retrieve her trust fund.

If you can, ask for Cheryl Phillips!

The all-star ace-tier Cheryl Phillips is a wonderful, kind and informative advisor who really helps you to understand all of the nitty-gritty aspects of opening an ISA. I am very new to it all and she held my hand through the whole thing and I feel a ton more confident about it all now.

Terrible Treatment

Terrible service, my policy matured on 24th August, phoned them a few days later to ask when I would get my money, women on the phone told me my cheque had been sent the previous week, “Royal Mail must have lost it”. I was then told another cheque would be sent special Delivery. Another week passed and I phoned again as I still hadn’t received my cheque to be told it was sent 3 days ago , but not by special delivery even though the women confirmed it was on the notes of my account that it had to be sent special delivery, I was then told someone from customer complaints would contact me. Someone from customer complaints phoned me 3 days later and admitted that my treatment was not acceptable and offered me £20, I declined this offer as it had cost me a lot more then this in phone calls and my time. I was then told a senior advisor would contact me within 5-10 days to discuss my dis-satisfaction, 16 days later I’m still waiting. After pay my policy every month for 38 years this is a terrible way to be treated. I would strongly advise you to go nowhere near Foresters’s Financial.

Poor service, expensive too

Many years ago, we opened trust funds for our children, unaware of Foresters’ comparatively high management charges. When I raised this, the customer service agent tried to persuade us to keep the fund, claiming that we were paying for skilled advisers. I pointed out that in the 18 years we had held the policy, we had received no contact or advice whatsoever.

Now, at the point when my daughter needs access to her money, the problems continue: despite being assured that the funds would reach her bank account within five working days, nothing has been received. Poor service.

Frustratingly Outdated

Frustratingly Outdated

Foresters Financial makes managing your account unnecessarily hard. Their interface feels stuck in the past, and changes or updates take way more effort than they should. Customer support is only available 9–5, Monday–Friday—very inconvenient compared to other companies. There are far easier ways to manage your money today; Foresters feels like a relic of the 1980s.

BEWARE - DO NOT INVEST YOUR HARD EARNED MONEY WITH FORESTERS FINANCIAL

BEWARE - DO NOT INVEST WITH FORESTERS FINANCIAL!!!
Great customers services when they try to get you to pay in, but zero customer services when you need their help even after having been their client for years. My young daughter had unfortunately, paid £12,000 into the wrong account due to a 1 digit error number on the account, but they refused to sort this issue out, even though she has sent them bank statements to prove that the monthly DD has gone out of her bank account after she gets her monthly salary. We had called HMRC and they said admin errors happen, so it can be repaired but the provider, ie Foresters Financial would have to correct the error from their side, even if it had occurred in previous tax years. Guess it’s too much trouble for Foresters Financial to sort it, hence, it’s easier to say no. Now we have to ask The Financial Ombudsman for help.
What a disgrace!!!

A 2025 report to the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) shows the company receives a high volume of complaints, primarily regarding general administration and customer service, particularly within their investments division.
