One star is too good for this company!

One star is too good for this company!

I've been a customer of Cherizena for over 30 years, in fat, ever since they started in business. For most of that time, things went very well indeed and I had a good relationship with Cherry and Zena who started the business. Sadly, they have now retired and passed it on to the next generation and things have rapidly nosedived to the extent that customer service is not existent.
My latest trouble with them goes back to March last year when they accepted an order for an out-of-stock item. There was no indication that it was out of stock on the website when I ordered. According to the Sale of Goods Act, a company should fulfil an order within 30 days or send as refund. I'm still waiting almost a year on! I'd accept that I've been pretty lax with them but, my attitude was coloured by the previous good relationships.
Anyway, all but one of my Emails have been totally ignored, the telephone goes straight to voice mail and they ignore messages to phone you back. The one reply I did receive apologised profusely and promised to consult their supplier then get back to me with a refund or an alternative if the coffee I'd ordered was still unavailable. Needless to say, nothing happened and they've ignored further efforts to contact them.
I fail to see the business acumen involved in deciding to withhold a refund for a few 10s of pounds leading to the loss of about £200 a year.
I have since found an alternative supplier at the same price with plenty of the coffee Cherizena claimed was unavailable. It has to be said that the quality of Cherizena's coffee is far inferior to what they used to sell. I suspect that they're now supplying lower grade coffee to save money but selling it at grade 1 prices. Much of it is pretty tasteless and not worth drinking.
Save yourself the trouble and go elsewhere where you'll get a better tasting coffee for the same price and real customer service.
In any case, I suspect that this business is not going to be trading for much longer.

Poor Online Experience

The coffee is nice, but unfortunately Cherizena's customer service is sadly lacking. An order for coffee beans was placed for delivery by a special date, the delivery took 11 days and missed the special date by 2 days. But that’s by the by – the order was missing one 500g bag of coffee beans, the delivery slip was annotated ‘to be sent’ and eight weeks later the order remains outstanding. No explanation has been forthcoming, no apology offered and the company has been unresponsive to both email and telephone contact. This kind of customer service is simply unacceptable not to mention poor form and though the coffee beans are nice, I can find no reason whatsoever to recommend why anyone should purchase coffee online through this company, given the plethora of alternative good and reliable options elsewhere online. Customers be warned, the risk is yours to take, I for one will never deal with Cherizena again.
