The nation’s leader in Executive Function coaching has been serving clients since 2006. Beyond BookSmart works with students and our WorkSmart Coaching division focuses on serving adults. Executive function coaching teaches students and adults how to organize, plan, prioritize, manage time, maintain focus, self-assess, and study efficiently. Self-management skills are increasingly important in a complex world with many distractions and competing priorities. People who learn these skills are better equipped to navigate the challenges of school and adult life. Many of our clients are bright, capable individuals in late elementary school to adults of all ages who are not achieving their potential as a result of ineffective work habits. Some have diagnoses such as ADHD or other learning differences and see coaching as excellent additional support to school-based interventions. Some of our clients have emotional challenges such as anxiety which impact their ability to work effectively. Other clients we work with have no formal diagnoses yet benefit from learning more effective ways to manage their academic or workplace demands. Our coaches work 1:1 online to help people learn how to manage their time, attention, effort, and emotions, as well as stay organized, plan and prioritize, self-advocate, and become more self-aware. Using our deep understanding of the nature of behavior change, our coaches help clients discover their own motivation to become more effective at school or at work. All of our coaches have master’s level degrees or higher (or equivalent) and have been rigorously vetted and trained, with access to over 400 tools and strategies to customize each client’s experience, according to their needs and preferences.

So far, so good. I made an initial online inquiry and the response was quick and thorough. Moving on to the intake process was just as easy and efficient and my son was matched to a coach within days. Communication has been great throughout. Hoping for great progress ahead.

My coaching coordinator was patient, kind, and responsive to my needs. Laura listened, summarized and made sure I was on board which what she understood my needs were. She had experience in listening and assisting one who was still unclear about the assistance he was seeking.
I would recommend her to others.

Everything was well explained. I asked a lot of questions, and every one was answered with grace and professionalism.

The intake was a great experience. Through the process Paulette got my son excited for coaching

My child's coach has been very supportive and came up with concrete and constructive suggestions that helped him get through some very difficult periods during the schoolyear. We are hoping that the executive functioning skills that he is acquiring through coaching will help him as he goes through the college application process, in college itself, and in life more generally!

I wasn’t involved in the intake, husband Dave was but he was impressed. He’s likes the idea of reports on Michael’s progress. Once we get going and see what it’s like, I’d give it all stars!

I’m always reluctant to try new things. So I was thrilled and pleasantly surprised when we met with Beyond book smart.
They asked important questions, did not waste my time and got to what was most important. They also had great goals set up in the first meeting along with ideas for tools!
Loved it and excited for them to help my son!

We were a bit apprehensive about our intake meeting but Allison was very approachable and informative and made the process easy. We are excited to get started on tackling the obstacles we have been facing for years and working on tangible ways to improve executive function in a fun and meaningful way.

I am a parent who has an adult child with executive function disorder. He started coaching with BEYONDBOOKSMART last year. The initial intake of questions for matching the coach to the client is excellent. I see so many significant changes in my son which have been consistent. His organization and time management skills are getting better! My son loves the service and loves his coach and looks forward to each session. Thank you BEYONDBOOKSMART! I am grateful to your service!!

It was a very informative intake session. Lauren introduced us to the program and answered all our questions. She spoke to Bennett individually for 15 minutes and he is really on board and ready to get started. Looking forward to learning ways to help Bennett be more successful at home, at school, and in his extracurricular activities.

they matched me with someone they knew had performance issues and was not a quality coach (as described by them!) and won’t refund the money for that session specifically. how is this an ethical business practice?
there’s nothing this business offers that you can’t find yourself in a good resource about time management and working with someone skilled in nervous system regulation. that’s all you need. everything else here is fluff to make you feel they are doing something great and deep and worth being charged 100s of dollars a week for. it’s truly not. i was going to let this go but they didn’t offer me a refund for even the wasted first session or intake. atleast one should have been refunded. instead they waived the $300 fee to cancel - that’s not really a credit given as the condition is you don’t need to pay this as long as you tell customer success why you are leaving. which I did! so why won’t this company refund my money for matching me with a coach with known performance problems?
buyer beware. don’t do it, not worth it.
there is a reason this place has the most intense documentation for you to sign your life away when you get started with the program. $300 to cancel coaching. cost for intake. can’t cancel before 16 weeks. it goes on and on, make sure you have a lawyer to review it before you sign.
the problems started with the pre form. i was given a form for children that parents are meant to fill out. i was signing up for their adult coaching for myself. i pointed this out and was not sent the right form.
next, the intake coordinator was more interested in talking about herself than anything else. spending that money was so pointless, she learned nothing about me and passed on wholly incorrect information about me to the coach.
then they matched me with a coach that was horrible and when i connected with “customer success”, she shared that coach had known problems. so why are they still a coach? why were they matched with someone new?
i did SO MUCH due diligence before joining. there’s only one person in this organization who is good at what she does (client coordinator) and she was a joy to speak with, i wish i could have continued with her. everyone else, especially the (somehow) director of “customer success” has no idea which way is up. Defensive and dismissive.
in a way i feel fortunate i only wasted a few hundred dollars here instead of 1000s as i’m sure other poor people do. my heart goes out to them. in a time of inflation and raised costs, do you really want to spend your hard earned money at a business like this? the positive reviews here are so lopsided and suspicious. i’m out 100s of dollars.
buyer beware. don’t do it, not worth it.

My son is becoming so organized!! Kelsey is great with him.

This was a very helpful program for my college student to bridge the gap from high school accommodations and support. He no longer needed a subject area tutor but really needed the organization and planning support. It made a huge difference in academic performance and results were in the grades.
